The banquet hall itself has been designed very well for a mid-sized event. I looked at many places to host my bridal shower but I could not find any that accommodated what I was looking for until I found La Boheme. The owner, Arthur, is an incredibly nice man and very helpful. He provided feedback and worked with me every step of the way to make sure everything turned out exactly as I had envisioned. Most importantly, the service and food was ABSOLUTELY amazing. The staff at La Boheme is extremely attentive to all the guests and very responsive to all their requests. What's interesting is when you're driving down the street, there are so many kabob places and we chose this one based on some reviews that we saw and the fact that it look like a mom and pop shop and it was! “We had some delicious shawarma platters! The number of combinations you can make with the sides and upgrade to the fattoush salad is great. We had one chicken shawarma platter with rice, babaganoush, and labneh and one chicken shawarma platter with fattoush salad, garlic paste, and pita chips. All of it was very tasty. The garlic Toum was particularly good, as was the fattoush salad. Each platter comes with two thin pitas (the best kind). The shawarma was a more stewed chicken with onions and tomatoes than the usual kind of dry shredded off the skewer but it was so flavorful! Maybe best not to get it on rice because the ice absorbs all the liquid. We also got a cilantro jalapeno hummus that had a tiny bit of a kick. Everything was good, and the people were very friendly. We will have to come back to try more things!“

Great seasoned beef matched perfectly with the rice. The chicken gyro was just okay. I like having tzatziki sauce in the gyro and it was not present. Instead, they make theirs with a sauce similar to mayonnaise, so I don't recommend that unless you prefer a more mayo flavor. Overall, good service and sizeable portions.“

So decided to look up a few places and while driving, I saw this at the corner and this place had been on my bookmarks for a while and decided to give this a go instead. Since it's downtown and midday parking is horrendous, but since they're located near an alley, homegirl parked on the red and came in to do a to go order. Walked up to a kiosk and ordered 2 chicken shawarma, one with hummus and the other with mixed greens. ( Summer is coming around the corner, so gotta make sure we're staying within the macros.) I really did enjoy my plate, the wrap was packed with protein which I enjoyed. Usually a lot of places are skimpy with their protein portions, but the chicken was tender and full of flavor. It was also very refreshing as there was tabuleh and pickles. I like the little banana peppers addition to the salad, I just ate them with the shawarma instead. The hot sauce is creamy, pretty mild, but got the job done. PS Would you guys make a halal hot sauce? Just asking because some people like me would like our insides to burn. Lol. “This is a great lil joint hiding away in a not often traveled part of DTLA. It’s a small and cozy spot but the food they cook up is delicious and very good portion sizes. Nothing is crazy overpriced and the flavors of everything are spot on. We got the beef and chicken lule combo and lamb chop combo and loved it all. The char and flavor of the chops and lule was amazing. Plus the rice that comes with it was cooked perfect and I love that it comes with a sumac seasoning to add. Getting chicken Koobideh to be flavorful is an uphill battle since it’s just ground chicken. This was beautifully seasoned, charred and juicy. Generous portions of beautifully cooked rice with salad and grilled vegetables and pita bread round it all out for a very competitive price in this inflation age. I wish there was an M Grill closer to where I live in Joshua Tree.“

“The team here is great. I had the pleasure of hosting a party here in December, they allowed me to book the entire place for the night with full service and entertainment. The owners treat you like family and make sure you have the best experience. Their pricing is also so fair, it's hard to believe how good it is. They were very flexible to what I wanted the party to look alike and accommodated as needed. I wish I had better pictures of the initial time of the party, but here's what I could find. “Everything was great. Atmosphere was amazing. Drinks took awhile and my friend whose birthday it was never got her second drink. And when it was time to pay I wanted to leave a little early so I had the waiter split my bill plus the birthday girl's drink and he ended up charging me the remainder on my card which was $130 instead of the $68 eventually we put everything on my card and had two transactions on my card instead of voiding it and having that amount pinned on my bank account. For what it's worth if this happens to you especially if you go in a large party remember that it is best to just zelle each other then void the transaction and have multiple pending transactions on your bank account. I was a little disappointed that all the waiter wanted to offer was to void the whole thing because as a server myself I know that this causes multiple pending transactions. So from both the customers point of view and the servers to make your life easier and theirs remember that nobody's perfect and mistakes can be made and if you can take the initiative to lead your group so that the money isn't lost in cyberspace so that not only the bill gets paid but everybody feels like they put a fair amount in then your experience will be a good one even if it seems like it's going south. So in conclusion I ended up staying a little bit longer than I wanted to but I felt like this was an experience that had to be shared and I hope this is helpful for people in the future.“
