“The food was 10/10, everything we ordered was excellent, and was brought to us by the chef himself, who was gregarious and kind. Service was impeccable, our waiter was available but in no way intrusive. Ambience was on point and unique. Will definitely be returning to Bardo!“
“My server handled an entire room during a busy lunchtime shift while keeping her cool!I opted for Tacos and was able to mix it up with 1 Pulled Bison and 2 Smoked Squash served with a fresh wild green salad. Wapepah’s blue corn bread is a beautiful grainy texture and pairs great with Warm Berry Pudding. Wait…. Don’t leave without getting Frybread! Its delicate crispy exterior is perfectly balanced with its soft warm freshness, topped with a buttery finish!“
“The best J*** Chicken I've had. Ambience is that of a little oasis, connected to the Dellums Federal building and 12th St City Center via a pedestrian parkways. It's in the historical park area, not obviously a place you'd expect to encounter a boutique restaurant...you need to know it's there. Go find it. It's great.“
“Best wings in the East Bay! Stopped in to visit my friend in Oakland and was pleasantly surprised. The Korean fried wings are hand breaded, tender, and nothing short of amazing. Looking for some heat though Catfish bites were absolutely perfect The cocktail list rivals any fancy rooftop in San Francisco Plenty of room to accommodate large groups. Conveniently located close to the convention center. Stop in to see Mikey or Paul during happy hour“
“The hardest thing about Burdell is that you can't eat everything in one sitting but you really want to. Tonight was our first time dining here, and we are already looking forward to going back. My husband and I started with cocktails and they were absolutely delicious. Then we had the chicken liver and waffles and we all but licked the plate. For dinner I had the fried petrale sole and my husband had the pork neck. We also couldn't resist getting the whipped potatoes, which were everything you want potatoes to be. We both loved our entrees and stole bites from each other. Very flavorful, very lovely presentation, and nice portions. For dessert we shared the chocolate puddin and it was also excellent. We were well taken care of by all of the staff and got some lovely drink recommendations that paired well with each course. We really enjoyed this dining experience and look forward to returning. We would like to do the family dinner with beverage pairing next. Love this place!“
“Just fantastic! We came here on our way to an event, and everything could not have been better! My husband and I started with the pretzel appetizer, and it came out piping hot, with a selection of sauces, so so good!!! We moved on to the main event, burgers! Just what we were in the mood for! BBQ Burger was just wonderfully cooked, and tasted top notch! Classic Burger! Divine!! Awesome flavor and just right amount of accompaniments! There is nothing we did not like about The Morrison! Our server, William, was fantastic as well! Very knowledgeable, carried on a great conversation as well! He was prompt in checking in on us, refilling our drinks, the whole sha-bang! If you are in the area, and you want a laid back atmosphere, with truly great food, and many options, you must make a stop to The Morrison, you will not be disappointed! **Parking...there is on site parking, however, be advised it is a small parking lot, and it can be a bit tight**“
“We got the cheeseburger, cheese steak, fries, and corn fritters. I really didn't expect everything to taste THIS good but I was so pleasantly surprised!! Everything was so tasty and the drinks were even better!!! I LOVED the house made ranch and put that on everything. The owner and staff were also super kind - will def be coming back. They have odd hours so it's hard to catch when they're open but definitely worth it.“
“Oh the ambiance! Matched by the uniquely fantastic cocktail list that will entertain and satisfy. Friendly staff as the bar manager kindly answered my random questions about the drinks and didn’t the staff mind that we were at the bar for 4 hours and didn’t order too much.Very fancy tater tots.“
“This mac and cheese is perfect- PERFECT. When I'm not in the area, I cry. I got the cookbook for Christmas a couple of years ago and that can tide me over but of course, I'd rather it come from the OG. My absolute favorites are the pesto mac or pizza mac - both of which will rotate on and off the menu. A crunchy top is a necessity. I prefer the breadcrumbs but they have other options like hot Cheetos or chips too. Thank you for existing, Homeroom. ILY.“
“Came midweek for lunch, was immediately acknowledged when I walked in and sat shortly after. My server Brian was very attentive and kept a great line of communication throughout my visit as I tried the onions rings, chicken wings, and Matty’s classic burger with the brisket Chili. To top off the feast, Brian recommended the strawberry chocolate milkshake for the road back home. Overall great experience and will definitely make the drive back to Oakland from San Jose to give the rest of the menu a taste!“
“I can't say enough good things about Low Bar! I hosted a holiday party here last night for a local professional organization, and Low Bar was the perfect venue. The staff are so thoughtful, organized, and attentive, and the food is fantastic. Low Bar is really the place to be if you want fun, casual vibes but high quality food. Their private room was perfect for a 30-person event. The price was reasonable for the high quality of food, cocktails, and service. Our guests ranged from graduate students to retirees, and folks from all walks of life remarked on how much they loved the location.Justin was our server, and he was the dream to work with. Friendly, professional, attentive-- he really made the party a success. I felt like I could just show up and Justin and the Low Bar would make everything run well.Their event manager Sam was also a joy to work with and made everything so easy. The location is perfect for public transit accessibility, and there is a parking lot across the street.Don't sleep on the churrros! The food here is amazing.“
“Delicious bowls that make me feel so satisfied and energized. The poke bowl was maybe the highest quality most yummy poke bowl I’ve had, it was perfectly balanced; the rice to fish ratio, the crunch of the veggies and the soft rice and fish. You can sample their extensive and DELICIOUS kombucha menu, melon rose was my fave. All the staff are so friendly and welcoming. I had lovely conversation with Ari and Sam (I think??) about language and culture.Lovely clean bathrooms and a beautiful space with lots of light, high ceilings, and plants.I love it what can I say! Can’t wait to bring my mom here who is on a low-fat whole food diet. She can’t eat at most restaurants but I saw so many options for her here!!!I spent the afternoon here working remotely after a dank lunch ?“
“It's a full bar and restaurant with serving brunch too. Has indoor and limited outdoor seatings. Inside is well decorated and clean. Tables are large and overall roomy place.Waiters are responsive and polite.Great for group, events, meetup, kids and accessible. Prices are reasonable wrt food quality. Will come back again.Wheelchair accessibility: Ramp to enter and room to easily maneuver“
“I was surprised to see a line of people waiting to get in for lunch on a Thursday afternoon. The restaurant opened precisely at 11:30 and we were quickly seated. Our server did a great job pacing the meal and answered all our questions. The food was delicious and interesting. It's a definite go back“
“Hannah and Alex own and operate their own cozy cafe here at Nib’s. Alex is cooking up a ‘Nib’s Special Omelette’ for me. He wears a cap that says “Im Alex, doing Alex things.” And clearly Hannah knows what she’s doing here in this clean, comfortable, well-managed establishment. And here’s the omelette now…. NOICE!“
“I've lived in the neighborhood for 5 years and ate at Southie for the 1st time on 2/27. It is incredibly good and a good value. The service is fine dining standard where bottles are presented and napkins folded when a guest is away from the table. The food is prepared with a dedication to quality as well, oysters were shucked perfectly, dishes all were extremely flavorful and tastefully presented.I will definitely be back, it's the type of restaurant that you can stop in for a satisfying snack or a whole meal.Thank you Southie employees for the memorable experience.“
“Chill spot to grab lunch. Piedmont dad vibes for the most part with a good wine menu. I had the wedge salad w/ chicken and it was delicious. I would for sure double back with a “friend”.?I also recommend the black eye pea soup, I was told it taste like Sunday dinner.“
“got a good tasty donut with coffee at $5.15, paid with credit card as their minimum is $5 and no cash bill bigger than $20. sketchy looking lotto machines as they’re all tagged up but they’re right in front of the workers?? I wonder if the workers are in on it ?“
“The food here is fantastic. Everything is always so fresh, comforting, and I can eat it without regretting eating out. The portion is really generous for the price, which feels very reasonable. I usually get the chicken or pork shoulder mixed bowl because I like the mix of greens and grains in the bowl. Honestly this is my go to place when I'm craving something comforting but healthy (or at least on the healthier side). The green smoothie is also super refreshing!“
“Loved Binny's! We found this place on accident on a Thursday night, but it was a great find! The space feels intimate, not super busy, and it's super cute inside. The food is simple but really hits the spot, and the drinks are super delicious. The bartender and staff are super attentive, quick, and happy to modify based on taste. I really enjoyed the arugula salad and grilled cheese. The food wasn't too oily, especially the catfish bites, and they were super tender and fresh. There was also a good amount of vegetarians options too!If you get the chance to try anything, the shots are insanely good. This place was a great spot to end a crazy busy Thursday work night!“
“Service was fast! It was busy, but only had to wait 10 minutes to be seated on a Saturday afternoon. And the food and shakes did not disappoint!! My kids were pleased.Parking: Small parking lot. I had drive for 15 minutes to find paid street parking 4 blocks away.“
“I came to watch an NFL game with a friend. We had some pitchers of different beers and nachos. The beer was goos and the nachos were excellent, they came in a big portion. The staff was super nice and friendly, I'd definitely would recommend this place to get a few beers and grab a bite.“
“We tried their brunch menu and was not disappointed. We ordered from the most friendly staff at the window the Andouille Shrimp and Grits which had creamy cheddar grits, the breakfast sandwich with home style fried potatoes, Banana Bread Louise which is banana bread french toast with Bananas Foster topping and a Grains in Purgatory bowl which had farrow. Roasted vegetables and two sunny side up eggs topped with chili crisp. I was pleasantly surprised by how flavorful the Grains in Purgatory was considering it was mostly vegetarian except for the eggs. It has the right amount of spice and the farrow had a nice bite. The breakfast sandwich had scrambled egg and thickly sliced bacon and arugula, the home fries that came on the side were perfectly seasoned and crispy. Those potatoes were the bomb! The gravy on the shrimp and grits was a little too salty for me but those creamy cheddar grits were so rich and smooth. Get the Banana Bread Louise to share for dessert! It's amazing! I look forward to trying items on their lunch menu especially the jerk salmon“
“Neighborhood Staple ✊? This Spot, has been "My Spot" throughout my teen yrs, my 1st,2nd,&3rd daughters and soon to be my grandchildren will get introduced ? I just got Re-Accquainted with this food a few days ago by running there (just) before closing... 3 minutes until ⌚ Ordered my food, thanked everybody in inside & left Em' a tip. That "tip" was and Still Worth It!!! ✨?????“
“After being told it’d be over an hour wait at Brenda’s with no reservation, my friend and I decided to walk cross the street and give this place a try, and let me tell ya, it’s definitely Brenda’s a run for their money. We were sat right away. I enjoyed the charm and service. I like that you can tell it’s been at this location for a long time. The catfish and grits were delicious. Great seasonal pancakes. Good coffee. Will definitely recommend and be back when visiting!“
“First-time patrons. Came for dinner. Bar area was busy, dining room empty, but had nice fireplace that warmed the room. Hubby had tasty moist pirk chop, I had Tilapia picatta that was delicious! Prices were reasonable and servers friendly. We will be back.“
“First of all, Ann at the counter is just a lovely person to be greeted by. It was a pleasure and she was warm and welcoming from start to finish.Okay, I ordered The Pastrami to go. My thoughts, being a first timer, were to go with a classic. Something that shouldnt be made wrong in any sandwich shop. They didnt disappoint. It was everything I expected in a pastrami with one caveat: I had it on Dutch Crunch bread.(first time having it on that kind of bread)They had a bunch of other options, not just pastrami. If youre in the mood for a good sandwich in The East Bay, head to Oakland and hit up Lunch Box.“
“Lobster Ravioli is no joke !! So delectable !!!!! Had it two times this week ! Love this spot still haven’t had drinks from here ! But boy is the food good ! If u like ur sauce on the thicker side add extra parmigiana cheese but .. it’s really not needed!! Dip ??that ??bread ??in the sauce?❤️ Idk what’s better the sauce or ravioli but so good to the point my dad made me go get more ? But the crab cakes are great too ! As well as the crab sandwich I advise you to get it grilled chesse style tho and no avocado! ? I’ll be back !!! ?“
“Great spot for beer and good food (sandwiches and burgers mainly). I've never had a problem with the food service, but when the bar gets packed (for example, on Trivia Night) it is usually just one bartender behind the bar to get people's drinks. Could be faster. Still, one of my favorite pubs in town.“
“Had a great brunch here. I highly recommend the kimchi fried rice (I ordered it with no pork belly). It was perfectly cooked and served with soft boiled eggs.My husband had the pork belly Benedict which was good but agreed the fried rice was the clear winner. We also had a mimosa and grapefruit juice which were made with freshly squeezed fruit.Service was fast and the staff are friendly.“
“Love this chill local spot. The menu is pretty standard diner fare but all done really well. The pulled pork hash is one of my favorite breakfast items. Also a big fan of the lunch sandwiches. Most items come with a side of potatoes or fries (can upgrade to sweet potato fries too), so portions are pretty generous, especially for the price.Wheelchair accessibility: There is a ramp.“
“Well this is round two of reviewing since Google is not cooperating..but I feel this place is worth it. My husband found this when I was on a travel nurse assignment in Northern California. It was superb. We will definitely come back. It is a must visit place if you are in the area!“
“The staff here are informed, laid back, and yet fully attentive. We really appreciate stopping here to decompress when ever we’re in the area. If this isn’t already your favorite spot I strongly suggest you make it yours. Food and drink is hard to beat ESPECIALLY for the price point.“
“Date night. So we decided to return after all these years. Food was good but I remembered the ambiance was more romantic. Maybe I'm just getting older... the lights were too bright and the tables were arranged in a funny way that wasn't as .... Romantic Service was great. The food was yummy. I had their Paloma. They promised it was very smoky and it was indeed deliciously smokey. Had their special wok-fried calamari. It was very flavourful. The husband had their three meat meatball with spaghetti. Although the meatballs weee tasty, the dish was a bit anemic and could've used a bit more sauce. I had their infamous seafood stew. It was decent. Everything was cooked just right. But the flavour wasn't as intense. Perhaps because the wok fried calamari was so flavorful in comparison“
“Great quality food made with LOVE! Wonderful family business with great service to match. I really enjoyed the salmon sliders.. by far my favorite on the menu. The salmon nuggets are nice and juicy and comes with so much flavor. Definitely recommend trying this place.“
“Great staff, great drinks, great prices... We had a class reunion here and it was the BEST!!! Stephanie the owner is amazing and will work with you and your needs and makes sure she gives you EVERYTHING you need for your event!!! You won't be disappointed coming here for a happy hour with your crew or booking an event... Love those place!!!“
“I love this place. For work or with family the view and warm memories makes this my favorite. My dad used to take us here back in the 70s and 80s for my mom’s birthday. Most recently went here for business lunch with a great view. My stuffed salmon was perfect.“
“Best eggrolls I've ever had ! Hands down. You have to try the cheesesteak eggrolls. They're thee best. They also have crab and shrimp eggrolls which are goodt but not as good as the cheesesteak. So flavorful. There may be a wait but it's definitely worth it. The lemonade is good as well. You gotta catch them when they're open though. You won't be disappointed.“
“Breakfast at GLK LM. Always great. I'm stuck on Hank's Plate but my sister had french toast, which is great. I've had it. My bro-in-law had the Bacon Fried Rice which he raved about and I almost got. Very tasty coffee. Excellent service! Thanks May and David!“
“I've been driving past this amazing kitchen on wheels for the past yr and never have I bothered to stop & look. This ain't just a taco truck, they do breakfasts, burgers & birria. What more can you ask for. Run by nice folks. I'll definitely be back.“
“Wow, totally exceeded my expectations. Visited on a wed night, backyard was busy but didn't feel too crowded or loud. Overhead heaters are awesome! Best I've ever felt, I could be in a t-shirt on a cool evening. FOOD WAS BOMB! SERVICE SUPER FAST! We ordered a lot of food and it came out in like 10-15m max even being pretty full of people. Drinks even sooner. Prices pretty good for the bay, def felt like good value. Will def be back!“
“Renewed interest when I saw their Instagram post about allowing friendly dogs inside. My friend was dog sitting and took our dog over to the confusion of the workers who said there was just a dog brawl the week before and didn't know the owner had made that post. They let him stay though, and our dog were the only one, so she got all the attention. Today there is one dog at the bar and two out on the parklet. My husband and I were third in line to "seat ourselves" at 6:45pm on a Friday in February. The couple in front of us left and we were next because the party of 4 wanted a booth. We were seated at the end of the long copper table meant for groups. We have been here with a larger group before. The only annoying thing about this seat is that some people who are impatient hover above you while they wait for a table. The waitstaff is efficient. They take your order and clear your table quickly. The check is paid with handheld machine and it's now a cashless restaurant. There are four tvs for sports lovers. Three over the bar and one in the "dining area." There are a few parklet tables, and some tables in the windows, which open during nice weather. Very convenient location across from Rockridge BART. Otherwise you can pay for street parking or find free residential parking. There are two unisex restroom, one hidden in the dining corner, and the other towards the kitchen. There is a full bar and happy hour. You can sign up for their email list or social media to keep up on events, but they regularly have karaoke and trivia. If you walk by, they will have posters on their windows. We have been here only occasionally over the last 10 years of living in Rockridge. Today we had the deviled eggs, which come six in a plate and are well formed. The cheeseburger is juicy but too bready for my liking. The fries have that double crisp crust trend that showed up some decade ago for no good reason, but ketchup helps everything. There is a caddy full of all kinds of condiments for the table. We also had the Caesar kale salad, which is very big. The chicken cubes are juicy but the crispy garbanzos aren't too cohesive. We asked for a takeout box and it was compostable and came to the table for us to self pack. Kid friendly so there were some kids during our visit. Neighborhood bar and grill. Nothing mind blowing but a good staple to have in the area. There is wifi available, check the menu on the wall for the password.“
“Red snapper and party wings were seasoned well. Not salty. This place is well priced and stays busy. Order ahead. You can also order party wings in a box 40-50 wings which is great for a party for about $45. It is the go to in area. Must try.“
“What an amazing place this is - a true gem!! Food, staff, ambiance, this place has it all....and then some. The chef is a magician and super approachable as he walks through the restaurant making sure everybody is enjoying themselves. The mixologist is top notch and equally friendly and engaging as the chef. The waiting staff is genuine, friendly, knowledgeable and are all clearly enjoying their job. And the food....and the drinks and the place....MAGICK!!“
“I been here several times for the chicken sandwich or salad when "I'm watching" it ? . The slaw served with chicken is unique. Not cream based but some type of vinegar dressing. The desert menu is growing. This is what's left of my banana cream pie. It was light and fresh. Nice thick crust like graham crackers really supports the banana and custard. Banana wasn't too thick and had a nice chocolate shaving on top. Line outside moves quick.“
“I had two dishes , a cup of gumbo and the Baja fish taco. Fish taco had fresh ingredients and leaned heavy into it with light sauce, delicious. Gumbo needed a bit of salt but that’s me, still found it super tasty. Out of there full for under 20 bucks was dope also.“
“Quite the experience, this fusion eatery has something for everyone. The food is fantastic and presented in style. I was impressed by the service and knowledgable staff. The atmosphere is distinct and modern, artisanal yet tastefully so. Worthy of a casual date or simply drinks with coworkers. Safe and serious, and highly recommended.“

“Lovely diner with super friendly service and good food. Reasonable prices. Quite a few vegetarian offerings. Would definitely come back . Easy street parking (paid)Wheelchair accessibility: Dedicated handicap parking. Wide entrance.“
“I️ absolutely love Pomet. The food is so fresh and bright. The service is impeccable. My husband and I️ were excited to celebrate our anniversary at Pomet tonight because we love it so much, but unfortunately our son fell really sick. I called Pomet this morning, worried that I️ was outside of the cancellation window. The only thing they were concerned about was that my son was sick. ❤️so grateful for the kindness that accompanies this amazing restaurant. Can’t wait to celebrate our anniversary at Pomet at another date.“
