“While I am unable to truly post a review on the “atmosphere” due to it pouring rain and I was the only customer there, the umbrellas (clearly meant to provide shade from the sun) were a welcome cover to the sudden downpour and so was the tri tip sandwich. Delicious! It was a great meal following my amazing experience ATV riding on the Dunes. Combining for a brilliant start to my day. Rain and wind can’t ruin a great thing! Also the owner threw in a complimentary Clam Chowder, probably based on the fact that I supported them on a day when due to the weather, he wouldn’t be very busy. The Chowder was excellent, flavorful and filling! Remember though this spot is outside seating only, so be prepared for rain or shine!“

“Seriously good fish n chips. We were trying to decide between a few places in town and definitely made the right call with this place - the fish was super fresh and had excellent flavor & the perfect amount of seasoning and batter. Perfectly done fries with A+ flavor and crisp. The folks working there were friendly, and the price was en pointe. I was impressed with the friendliness; in a touristy town with high turnover, warmth & personality is pretty rare. It was awesome to be treated with smiles and hospitality. “Holy hell, I have died and went to heaven! This place is killer to eat at. The flavor, the quality, and the freshness of the food they serve are just outstanding. We ordered the fish and chips and grilled shrimp tacos. Both dishes were so tasty that I am salivating, thinking of what we ate. I can't wait to return and eat here again.“

“The food is amazing, carne asada is their own unique recipe, as is the carnitas. I had a carne asada burrito and my husband had carnitas nachos. I will send m,ore pictures next time. There were 5 others getting food and it was a very small wait. They have a short menu , all the food is to go and if you need a cerveza/beer check out Gil's Mrkt They are located in the parking lot at Gil's Gas & liquor store.“

“Super easy to order! I reccomend looking at the menu ahead since you order before you sit down. But, the food is great and the staff was very nice and accommodating! “We stopped here for lunch yesterday. So GOOD! Hubby had a chorizo burrito. He loved the flavor, medium spice and delicious. The homemade salsa was really good. I had a BLAT... Bacon, lettuce, avocado, tomato sandwich. The bread was so good and perfectly grilled. They put a TON of bacon on it. I ate the first half and was full! It was yummy. They gave us some potato salad to try and it was so good... Homemade like my mom used to make. We will be back!! They are closed Tuesday and Wednesday. “Wonderful tempura-battered cauliflower tacos! Blew me away. Didn't expect they'd be so delicious and well -prepared with plenty of avocado and crema. What a boon to find great vegetarian option anywhere let alone on the pier. Excellent Pier Salad as well - generously large portion and chock full of red pepper, tomatoes, cabbage and lots of avocado. Cannot recommend enough!“

“So we bought some tamales down in orange county that were supposed to be terrific. Had them today and had way too much masa. So I bought some from Cafe Padre, all Carnitas. We tried a couple of those my husband and I and they were pretty good. Just the right amount of spice. I would've liked a little bit more meat, but they were sure better than the other ones.“

The portions were quite large for the money. I had a bacon cheeseburger, and my husband had the tri-tip nachos. Neither one of us could finish our meals.“
