“Mazzetti's bakery knocked it out of the park with our wedding cake. We discovered Mazzetti's through our wedding vendor, Wedgewood Weddings. Nice knowing there was already a designated cake vendor who would deliver to our venue without any extra stress and coordination on our part. Sampling- when ready to taste test, simply email to share a day that you will pick up your sample box. We were given 9 cupcakes with various flavor options. Style: In an email, we received sample photos and options of cake flavors and decorations. I think this process could be upgraded with tech to make it more interactive, rather than a non-writable pdf attachment. Tech aside, the pictures helped share the combinations of options and process simple with Mazzetti's reaching back out by email closer to the wedding date to confirm party size and flavors chosen. Cake: Taste- I'll definitely be going back for more! We chose the following: Top- white with apricot filling Middle- red velvet with cream cheese frosting Bottom- carrot cake with cream cheese frosting. Fun being able to choose different flavors for each tier. Our guests loved all of them! As most bride/grooms, we didn't even get to eat the cake at our wedding because we were too busy dancing, but our venue packed up a sample box to go which we enjoyed for breakfast the next morning, savoring every bite! Overall- glad to have found a new local bakery I trust. Even will make the 45 min drive out to Pacifica to visit Mazzetti's on weekends, which always has a line of locals out the door. Check this place out for quick sweets or scheduled parties and celebrations. They won't disappoint!“
“Ten years ago I was diagnosed with a severe dairy allergy. So, most desert options are off the table for me. It was rather life changing. Now, when I was young my favorite pie was without doubt, Lemon Meringue. Well, no more of that for me! But then I found Shampa’s and asked if they could do a dairy-free version. This sounds easy, but it’s not. At least if you want it to taste authentic. Well, Shampa’s did just that! Took me right back to my childhood. And if that can do that pie, they can do anything. So if you are looking for a pie on the Peninsula, you can never go wrong with Shampa’s!!Dietary restrictions: They will make many pies using non-dairy ingredients. Not all can be done, but many.“
“Excellent pizza slices. The giant sourdough loaf is convincingly tangy. They serve the best savory, flakey and sweet pastries - Best in the Bay! Try the $10 frosted cinnamon rolls - wow! Worth the drive. (If you are in the mood for a salty reply, try asking for a 'large' coffee)“
“"Eustress" is a term I like because it expresses the idea that not all challenges are inherently bad. I have my bouts of uncertainty when I am faced with situations (and obviously you can't control people) that I cannot control. In those moments, I have to use that eustress and let it turn into something good. In other words, focus on what I can control and crush it + let it shape and teach me to become a better version of myself. Interestingly, that may be the best fruit of any situation since, in the end, you leave with what you come with (yourself). But I did not leave Pacifica with just myself haha. A sweet person sent me home with a box of 15 Señorita Breads (after he took two for himself). Believe me when I say eat them right away (or if you're fortunate, use your air fryer and heat two at 225 for 5 minutes...too specific eh?) The shop and choices are quite simple. There are no frills. They do have other pastry and dessert options like empanadas and cookies, but they are known for their señorita breads. How to explain the Señorita Bread? They are little breads with a buttery and custard center. Quite simple but quite good. I would say it's a carb lover's paradise. I enjoyed it, but was not completely amazed by it. I think it's great to eat maybe around two with some coffee!“
“Oh my wow!!!! This cake was so delicious and perfection! Not too sweet or sugary. The ingredients are so fresh and organic. We finished the entire cake of 12 servings among 6 people! I’m definitely ordering from here again and they have a location and deliver in San Jose! It’s so pretty too.“
“Always a line out the door, I got the fresh beignets and a naked biscuit as I had eaten a big bfast already. The beignets were deliciously light and tasty (fried dough- what can be bad?!?) but I was initially suspicious of the biscuit until I toasted it and spread butter and strawberry jam on it. Heavenly flaky and tasty. Cashier was nice and order took a little longer but the beignets are made to order .“
“The buns here are really good. The bread was incredibly soft and airy with such a delectable milky-sweet flavor. Beef curry filling was okay but BBQ pork was excellent. Decent amount of filling, no red dye, and absolutely delicious. Pork floss bun is also amazing if you're looking for something more savory.“
“They have great bread. And the croissants, unbeatable, accompanied by an excellent coffee with milk (latte). At the bar is Héctor, a very nice guy from Navarra (Spain). And there is another very friendly Belgian girl who gives you conversation if there is no queue.“
“Made the short walk from the resort to this wonderful little coffee "shop". It's more like a stationary food truck. Really appreciated their early morning hours, as I was working remotely on central time so my workday started at 6:30am. Many of the other cafes I looked at in the area didn't open until 7:00am. The Yelp map seems to have them located on slightly the wrong location. They are around the corner. Use Apple Maps or Google maps for the proper location. It's on Harvard.Ordered an iced cold brew with a splash of vanilla syrup, a banana, and an almond danish. The service was friendly and helpful. The cold brew coffee was smooth and delicious and the almond danish was sweet and tasty. Appreciated that they had some fresh fruit and the banana hit the spot.I'll definitely be back while I'm in the area.“
“OMG WHAAAT. So glad I was starving and stumbled in here before I hit up Safeway. Oh my goodness, the tofu bahn mi was really delicious and fresh. Toasted to perfection and just hit all the yessss boxes for me. It didn't stop there, I got the beef curry pastry and oh dear god. I'm dreaming about that. I live in the inner Richmond and was on my way home from Daly City so I don't typically come around here but I'm going to make an excuse to just hit up this bakery. Donut was super good too.“
“Best bakery in the city! Got my husband a carrot cake for his birthday and it was so delicious, hands down the best cake i've had. They wrote happy birthday on it for me in any color i wanted too. It was $50 for a 8 in cake which fed all 20+ adults and is incredibly affordable when you compare to the chains like susie's. I'll be back any time i need a cake!“
“Tried this place when I was out in San Francisco. Everything is so fresh. The pizza was great and all of the baked pastries I got we're good. It's definitely not an over the top places but what they have is very good. They make simple things like muffins and cookies.“
“One of my favorites in the Mission District, located at Harrison and 24th Street, is Healthyish Republic an explosion of flavors, textures, and delicious healthy style. When I arrived in San Francisco, I was super concerned about my food routine, and that's when I found them! Since then, they've become more than just my favorite spot; it's my second home. Perfect if you follow a Keto, Paleo, Mediterranean style diet, or simply if you appreciate quality food with top ingredients. Thanks for every experience, Healthyish family!“
“My Experience of Black Jet is not one from visiting the shop itself and i feel both lucky and mad about it lol. When you and your coworkers have sweet tooth’s good treats end up in the break room.So far I’ve tried:Chocolate Chip Cookie W/ sea Salt(awesomeness)Pop Tart(awesomeness)Strawberry Ruhbarb Pastry(it was ok not bitter, felt like the breading could have been better. But still a very good pastry)Scone(I believe it was blueberry and it awesomeness. Not a scone person at all but this one was not dry and didn’t just fall apart either.)Kid-friendliness: Pop Tarts! Come one come all!“
“Absolutely worth the hype. I've been looking for a good bagel place in SF for two years now and I'm so happy I finally found one. The bagels are crispy on the outside and so soft on the inside, and the whole bagel is coated with everything bagel seasoning (it's a pet peeve of mine when the seasoning is only on one side). I will be back many times!!“
“Great, great fresh bread. You get bread coming out of the oven. This bakery has been around for years. However not too many people know about it. If you want fresh bread Raymond's is the place to go. Plenty of parking, cash only. Best bread in town.“
“Superb cappuccino and cortado prepared by an expert barista in clean minimalist space. Both beverages exhibited strong notes of expertly roasted beans with rich crema that lingered on the palate. The cortado exhibited an intoxicating taste that rivals the best we’ve ever tasted - and we sample plenty across the US and beyond. Much attention has been devoted to the interior which is adorned with live plant and decorated with tasteful combination of tile and natural woods which maximizes the small space.Should have hired the designer to do my kitchen. There is no seating on site. Barista Rowby is a master of his metier and efficiently serves a line of patrons, many of whom were welcomed personally by counter person Gigi. Pride of ownership bounds with a variety of fun stickers and branding item. Roasted beans are available on site which is a big plus for me. Dead Eye rises to the top echelon of Bay Area coffee establishments and deserves to be on your map.Parking: Parking is tight so be patient to receive your reward“
“Love the neighborhood feel when you step into this coffee shop. They have an interesting selection of coffee drinks, including matcha. I recommend the Okinawan Kokuto Latte with an almond croissant. Nice place to sip a coffee and get some work done (with headphones on of course).“
“My Baking Creations make the best lavender blueberry cake. I never thought it would be a good combination, but it turn out pretty good. The details on the cake are amazing and precise, as well as customer service. Highly recommended and definitely coming back. Thank you for a wonderful memories!“
“Las Hijas Del Gallo is a hidden gem nestled in the neighborhood, offering an amazing array of bakery delights that are as fresh as they are flavorful. Each visit feels like discovering a treasure trove of baked goods, where every item on the menu is crafted with care and expertise. The aromas that greet you at the door are a clear testament to the quality and freshness of their offerings. Whether you're a fan of savory or have a sweet tooth, Las Hijas Del Gallo is sure to have something that will delight your palate. It's a small bakery with a big heart, and its charm is unmatched. A must-visit for anyone looking to indulge in some truly delicious baked goods!“
“Was skeptical, but lived close by and was willing to throw in a few dollars to try the place out. Turned out to be a lot better than I thought. No need to go to Chinatown for this stuff anymore. This place is better than most other Chinese Bakeries. It hits the spot for sure.“
“Sometimes you just need a torta that hits and this place makes them with runny beans, soft squishy bread, soft eggs, cheese and proteins that are made fresh. While not exactly a deal price wise, everything you get here is fresh and assembled well with prompt service. They've got a solid selection of tortas to choose from plus some platters that look really good. I got a carne asada torta and while it presented big it wasn't super heavy.“
“Holy buckets, this place rules. I never get past Devils. teeth for breakfast sandwiches normally but this place is worth the few blocks further trek. All of the pastry too. Mango sticky rice kouign aman was a highlight too. Also the guy helping us was so friendly. 5/5 would roll out again.“
“Quirky hole in the wall with delicious biscuits! Buttery and crumbly and warm fresh out of the oven. I found it off of some reddit thread and decided to make the trek, they had a St Patricks special breakfast sandwich called "Green Eggs" - scrambled eggs, pesto and arugula inside a classic warm biscuit. Only change id make was in the ratio - and add a bit more pesto and arugula, but I'd go back for this every week if I could! hope they put it on regular rotation.Super reasonable price too at $7 a sandwich.Their cinnamon bun biscuit was tasty too “
“OBSESSED with this coffee/donut shop! I would consider this a hidden gem for their speed, convenience, and best people as well as coffee/pastry styles. Very East Coast style with products while also having a West Coast twist. Extremely mild coffee, not too strong but far from watery. The pastries are wonderful, and try to tip here if you have extra change. Local-owned and humble environment. I pray one day they may have enough customers to start a free wifi...“
“The story behind Bernal Bakery in itself captured my attention--it started during the pandemic and when the founders had lost employment. But their passion for baking soon took a foothold and I hope they are are here to stay for a very long time. Why I don't mind the calories +'s:+ Quality and fresh pastries. The seasonal cherry tomato and apple crumble Danishes are a couple of my favorites because they don't last year round.+ Breads. So many different types from roasted garlic fougasse to sando or sunshine loaf--all sorts of fresh carbs here.+ Salted chocolate chip cookie $3 chewy and soft! Not hard and brittle.+ Croissant staples like chocolate, plain, and ham & cheese all available+ Friendly service at Avedano's on Sundays. Always greeted with a smile. Why I skip the calories -'s:- Many spots to find their goods but check their website for days and locations. Sometimes need to plan your route depending on the day.“
“I had a Hello Kitty cake made earlier this month, and it was delicious. The design was a match to the idea I presented, and the best part of all was the customer service. The person I talked to over the phone was super attentive and followed through with my requests with so much ease. It was a great experience, and I on having more custom cakes made with them!“
“I accidentally shopped here, bought two pineapple buns, two paper cup cakes, one coconut bun and one cream bun. Every bun tasted so good, especially The cream bun, was so yummy cuz they used salted cream! Two things that were not good: 1. no Apple Pay ( but accept Zelle) its so inconvenient to log in my bank account for Zelle, so I ended up paid by cash 2. Charged plastic bag for 25 cents each (if you shop a lot here, bring your own bag . I would still recommend this place to my friends to try, especially the cream bun“
“Good assortment of flavors and the quality is there, no doubt. But as some others have alluded to, I did feel the cookies were a bit small for the price point. It’s tough when you have other quality bakeries nearby to compare to that’ll sell you bigger cookies for the same price.“
“High quality espresso, but not my favorite blend.. still hands down the only proper espresso place in Burlingame. Very clean.. upbeat and young vibes.. Very good pasteries.. but.... They run out of things to serve very often.. and they close 2 hours too soon.. but I guess that's the vibe in the Bay these days.. nonetheless I love the place“
“Gabby did a wonderful job making cake for our wedding. When we first met up, we were able to try small samples of cake, which all were pretty tasty but we ended up going with a vanilla cake with cream cheese filling and strawberry and passionfruit flavour. She was super fun to talk to and was able to easily make a sketch to turn our vague cake ideas into something tangible. She was also able to add a dozen vegan cupcakes for our vegan guests. Everything turned out amazing! My only regret is that I wasn't really able to have some of the cake on my wedding day. Needless to say, I'm looking forward to eating the cake saved for our 1st anniversary! If you're looking for a baker for your wedding in the Bay Area, look no further.“
“Um, wow. This cake was unbelievable. The chocolate cake itself was delicious and the design was really something to behold. My son wanted a Mario Cake with Bowser on it and oh boy did he get that! The Bowser even had reptile skin! So much detail. It really was just amazing. And it tasted delicious!“
“Even in a cutthroat city like San Francisco, some places are still run with love--with the kind of welcoming kindness you'd expect to see in a small village, not a few steps from a BART station. The owner of La Mejor Bakery is generous and thoughtful, once allowing me to come back hours after buying a pastry to pay for it, since I ran out of cash. One block away is Arizmendi--overpriced, overrated, and perpetually staffed by douchebags. It's a perfect reflection of the New Mission. In La Mejor, the Old Mission lives on.“
“This is my go to place for birthday cakes and special occasions. I have been a loyal customer for 18-19 years. You can't go wrong with the fruit tart, carrot cake , princess cake and strawberry layer cake with a layer of panna cotta. Ambrosia has kept up as my children's taste in cakes and pastries matured.“
“Their bagels are perfection! Wow!I had a The Works with bacon on an everything bagel and it was so delicious. I had a latte on oat milk which was equally as tasty. My husband had the lox bagel with onion and capers and was very happy with it.The only downside is the fact that everything is served in to-go containers - even when you dine in.Parking: They have a small parking lot with maybe 10-15 spots, but we have never had issues finding a free spot.“
“Had a late lunch here before a visit to SF Moma. The small restaurant was buzzing but we managed to find a table by the window. The Palestinian food served here is very fresh, creative and healthy. We got flatbread with various toppings (sort of like a pandini), a falafel salad, meze platter (labneh was outstanding), and knafeh (a cheese pastry) for dessert along with mint tea. Epic meal!“
“My all time favorite coffee shop! The staff are the best, they’re all incredibly kind and attentive. The atmosphere is why I often work from home there - it’s very communal! There’s a knitting club that sometimes meets up, people reading or meeting up with friends, and others who are working or studying. I’ve even become friendly with others who go regularly. Martha’s is what makes Bernal home for me. You can’t go wrong with the carrot bread and banana chocolate bread, and my favorite coffee include the lavender latte, lavender oat matcha latte, creme brûlée latte, and vanilla sweet cream cold brew.“
“Stacy and her team work pure magic with their culinary skills. The balanced sweetness of the cake with a touch of sea salt was nothing less than perfection. They consider every small suggestion/recommendation and coordinates superbly so that you can you can surprise your loved one without worrying. Thanks for helping me in making my sister's birthday a memorable one.“
“This has been a childhood staple for decades now. I have been going to Rolling Pin for over 40 years now. It's the best. Simple, no frills, just awesome ole fashioned donuts. A dozen donut holes are still $3.00. Not too many bargains like that left anywhere.Wheelchair accessibility: There is a ramp on the side entrance in the parking lot.“
“Baked goods and freshly cooked food on the menu are so amazingly delicious and the taste are uniquely just cook right. i always bought the conchitas, besos, cupcakes , tamal, pollo estofado with rice, all delicious and yummy. i will go out my way just to buy all of my Favorites here. No place can be as good and well prepared but here at the Universal Bakery in Geneva, San Francisco.“
“I walked around after Mediterranean dinner hoping to find some decent coffee....good sipping expresso...because it's late I only asked for a single!Yummmm...I haven't sipped a coffee so good since maybe Cafe Treiste in the day.The 'piece de resistance' was an amazing lemon tartlett!I'm swooning here!By the way it's 8pm!“
“While we were finishing dinner i was making another reservation to bring friends from out of town later in the week - that's how much I liked my first visit to Twelvemonth. After sharing a starter and a dessert and each enjoying a main course and their incredibly good bread, we were comfortably fed. We would happily order the carrot curry and the pasta with winter squash and pepper sauce again. I'm a fan of fried mushrooms, and I think the fried maitake were the best i've ever eaten. We nearly skipped dessert but i'm so glad we didn't. We shared the sticky toffee pudding, which was more of a loaf cake and not all that sticky, but the flavor of the dish (with optional soft serve) was sublime. Menu includes a thoughtful selection of non-alcoholic cocktails. The smoky, slightly bitter Mas O Menos with grapefruit and rosemary was perfect for someone who doesn't care for sweet cocktails. Pleasant, skillful service. The crowd was all adults, couples and groups of friends. I saw no children in the dining room at 7:30 on a Saturday and no children's menu. Which is not to say children wouldn't be welcome but I think only the adventuresome eaters would be comfortable.“
“Cozy, clean restaurant. I ordered the Pork Chops? with Grilled Onions. It came with two slices of delicious ? pork chops, crunchy on the outside moist & tender on the inside. Topped it off with a huge portion of grilled onions. Absolutely delicious meal!“
“It's an interesting mix of Chinese baked goods, western ones, and some in between. I had the sausage roll and it was pretty enjoyable, though I felt that the crust was almost too rich given that there was still a bunch of sausage adding richness and fat as well.“
“Although I have had their cheesecakes on several occasions, this was the first time actually going to their location in Stonestown for two cakes for my wife's b'day. I was the first customer when they opened at 11 am but the only thing that they had available was their pumpkin cheesecake and had to wait an hour as their matcha and original were still baking. No worries as I paid and picked them up when they were ready.“
“Love their breads, especially the white bread (or milk toast that's sold as both thick or thin slices) and raisin toast. Good shelf life as they usually last for a week and their breads actually stay pillowy soft! Another favorite is the Portuguese egg tarts or pastel de nata. Crispy, flaky shell with creamy, egg custard - this is definitely a great and very popular so it tends to sell out early. I've recently seen lots of people buying their steamed buns and will need to try that out. The shop is tidy and clean. Minimum $15 purchase for credit card use.“
“Came here a few weeks ago after getting a tiny less than mid lox bagel somewhere else. It was more than satisfying. Bummed that I didn't think to just go here first for breakfast! It's a very small lobby with maybe a table or two but the service was great. I will definitely come back.“
“I've always known Bread Basket pandesal was good because I've bought them from grocery stores before. But today, my husband and I decided to stop by their store to get some freshly baked pandesal and it was even better! It was soft and fluffy just like how I want it. I don't remember ever getting excited about eating pandesal except for today. We also got Macapuno Ube Ensaymada, Ube Pandesal and Ube Loaf. I love everything ube that's why. =) Honestly, their baked goods reminded me of the times when I was growing up in the Philippines. It was that good! Since I don't live too far from them, I think I'll be visiting their store from now on to get fresh pandesal and goodies instead of getting pandesal from the groceries. I'm also looking forward to try their other baked goods coz I'm sure they'll taste great too.“
“My friends family told me to come here to buy pan frances for the tamales we had over christmas. I can't believe i had never walked in here before!! I walked in and the sweet lady working in the front immediately greeted me and guided me to what i wanted. The bread is yummy and at a great price point!“
“A solid four. The only minus star is something with which others might disagree -- the piano. It encourages narcissistic displays of very loud playing, which drown out people trying to talk or write or read or whatever. Truly annoying. But that said, the service is great and the iced latte yummy. And what's nice is that they have for-here straws. Good touch.“
