Mendez Restaurant. Restaurant might be a stretch they have two tables and a few chairs, but a pretty decent menu including Barbacoa de Borrego! I ordered food to go. Tacos ($2.25) Asada Nice lean and tender beef, but lacking in flavor, it was most likely cooked on a flat-top grill and not well seasoned, corn tortillas fresh but out of a bag. 3-Stars Al Pastor Another taco that was just ok, not bad just not the bold flavor you should have with al pastor. 3.5-Stars Torta Barbacoa de Borrego ($9.00) Look at the size of that Telera roll, not only is it big, it's soft and fresh, filled with plenty of Barbacoa de Borrego "Lamb" Beans, Lettuce, Tomato, Jalapenos fantastic torta. 5-Stars“

Other than being small gourmet playhouse looking portions it was good. It was more once in a lifetime kinda meal not beefy hearty get full go to work filling kinda meal. “This is my first time trying Korean-Latin cuisine, which is so delicious! The owner suggested ordering the kalbi cheese fries which I'm glad that I ordered it! I got the rock combination plate and double cheeseburger as well! They have a self serve salad bar near the front which is convenient! The staff here so very friendly and it was a little empty at that time we came in so they were able to help us out! I loved how they put the posters around the store!“

“Good pozole. This is that homemade pozole that I had been wanting for a while. My friend brought me here. She said this place has been around for a very long time. I was surprised that I never noticed it. I wasn't a big fan of their tostadas. They seemed too stale. Apparently, they make them there but I can't say for sure. Either way... I still prefer tostadas from a bag. Place also looks a lil run down but that's not a big deal (to me). They could probably clean it up a little better but overall, I was satisfied with their food This place is at the very corner of a little plaza next to a laundry mat, liquor store and smoke shop.“

The bartender Frank fired up some martinis and a dreamy boy...I came for one, and ended up having 3. They are dangerously good. Shaken with a ton of ice, you do NOT taste the alcohol. Super delicious and went down quick. Frank made me laugh and was too fun to deal with. Quite honestly ; this spot will blow up as one of the best cocktail spots within the mile radius...sorry, it's that good. “Fantastic customer service here. They are usually very attentive, pleasant, respectful, and expedient. I was able to request the freshly made corn tortillas with cilantro, which I recommend with the queso fundido and chorizo. Their tacos de Birria are legit!! I recommend you try those, above all else. My husband asked for a replacement for the fish and they were able to accommodate. The servers were quite helpful with my mom as she uses a walker. They are also bilingual, which is a plus.Pro tip: they have platanos fritos con crema and frijol (fried plantains with cream and beans). You just need to ask. I'm sorry I didn't take a pic.
