“This was an adorable place for pastries and lunch. There is free parking in the structure nearby, and paid street parking around. My partner and I split the Chilaquiles, which was phenomenal with fresh and crisp chips. The pastry we ordered was an apple danish of some sort, and that was delightful as well. You order in the front before self seating, and enjoying a laid-back time with yourself or your friends. The staff were super friendly. The prices were quite high, but understandable for the location and quality of food.“

“I can't believe I haven't done a review of this place yet. They do a rotating menu that features different cuisines on a monthly basis. I think the first time I went, they had Fiijian food and the second time they had Haitian. Their classic menu includes Somalian, Egyptian, Kenyan. They hire immigrant chefs that highlight their cultures which I thought was pretty dang cool.I got their pita chips with Baba ghanoush. They deep fry their pita bread but also give unfried pita bread if you prefer. But their pita chips are SO GOOD. it's like... crunchy but also chewy. kind of the best of both worlds. I got a lamb stew one time. or was it goat... It came with rice and a giant lamb shank or something. Bone was still on... kinda cut open and the marrow was still inside! Hell yeah. It was full of flavor. Lots of spice to it but not spice-y. I'm thinking maybe it was the Egyptian smothered lamb shank now that I think about it. I remember also trying some of the sambusas. Deep fried triangles filled with spiced, amazing, piping hot goodness. I love that they allow you to mix and match whatever filling you want... unlike other restaurants that make you order them in batches of 3 or whatever.Service was great. We had THE Christian Davis serving us, bringing us all the plates, describing what everything was and how it was made. An extremely pleasant experience... all for a great cause.“
“Ordered a falafel burrito and the hummus with pita, and cheese quesadilla with chipotle sauce on the side via Uber eats.I wasn't crazy about the pita bread itself and the hummus was just ok, but the falafel burrito was great! I love the fries in it and the tahini is delicious. The burrito is very large and very filling, I ended up saving half for the next day and it was still just as tasty. I highly recommend getting a side of chipotle sauce to dip anything you order in!“
“There were 10 of us looking for a Persian restaurant in the LA area. We called Javan 30 minutes prior to our arrival and they accommodated us immediately. We ordered a great variety of appetizers and meals. They were all delicious. I was the only one who ordered lamb kebob knowing there is a lot of hit and miss when ordering lamb. I cautioned the waiter that if my food wasn't done the way I wanted it, I will return it. A few minutes later, a gentleman came to our table. I am not sure if he were the manager or the owner. But he personally came to me and told me that he uses the best spring rack of lamb and that I won't be disappointed. He told me he would not accept returning of the lamb. But I knew I would return it if it was not up to par. He told me he would personally grill it for me. My rack of lamb kebob was one of the best I've had and I am an avid lamb meat eater. The service was phenomenal. A few servers were standing around at all times just in case we needed something. Most importantly, when the bill arrived, it was accurate. I know that some restaurants take advantage of big groups and over charge people thinking no one will notice. But I always notice. I highly recommend Javan Restaurant.“

“I had Lamb wrap. The lamb was top quality and melted in my mouth. My friend had the koubideh kabob and again the quality of the meat was second to none. Hameed was very attentive and gave us a lovely sample of cauliflower soup and he’s very passionate about the food served. Farhad was our server and he was an absolute joy! I stumbled upon this spot right next to my hair stylist who just moved to her new salon, just looking for a bite and not expecting much. I am super hard to please foodie, so expectations are always on the low side. Boy was I surprised! Colorful, appetizing plate filled with yummy, juicy gyros and steak kebabs grilled to perfection! Generous, home cut and fresh French fries, mouth watering babaganudh, hummus and side salad! And pita bread? An entire song should be devoted to their chunky fluffiness. Service - top notch, smiles and warm welcome. I was starving the first time, so I came back a few months later, hair appointment, right... and gave this place another try. Perfect! All over . She was explaining everything in detail and was able to help me stay within our budget. I specifically requested the meat to be cooked a bit rare since it would be reheated the next day and they did just that. The food was amazing!! The chicken was so juicy not an ounce dry. “I have been coming here for over a decade and the food amazingly keeps getting better every time!!! It's insane. The owner busts his butt working the shop alone half the time. My cousins are Lebanese so I grew up with these specific Mediterranean spices and it brings me to my childhood every time. The portions are amazing and it's always ready on time. I've been getting take away since covid but he's reopened the dining area. Sitting in their outdoor seating area on a nice day is really lovely as well. Great service. Great food. Never disappoints.“
