“So glad to find out they reopened after being closed a while during the pandemic. Currently you have to pre-order a day in advance for pickup so it takes a little planning but so worth it.Their fried chicken is so crispy. I ordered it with waffle fries and they say they only fire up the fries just before your pickup time so that they're fresh. When I went to pick up my order, they let me know it would just be a few minutes because the fries were finishing and when he came out with my order, he said he accidentally made the salad but included both the fries and salad and threw in a vanilla pudding. Everything was so delicious. Even the bonus pudding had flecks of vanilla bean and tasted so much better than the instant stuff. The chicken and fries were enough for 2 meals.”

“Excellent service, the guy behind the counter was super friendly and energetic. He clearly takes pride in the food he makes and serving the community. The lemon pepper wings were juicy and crispy and cooked just right. The seasoning was strong, bright, and tangy. Their ranch was incredible -- it's homemade and had the perfect ratio of buttermilk and herbs. Would highly recommend, food and service are both great and deserving of 5 stars.”

“This Caspers has been here a very long time and I use to go to in often but hadn't been in about 5 years. It was still the same friendly people working there, who take care of their customers and keep the place clean. A Caspers dog is one of the better hot dogs out there. The atmosphere is not great. It's in a dicey neighborhood that is not well maintained unfortunately.”

“Everything was good and some dishes were mouth-wateringly great. Favorite dishes were pork belly noodle soup and spicy chicken wings. Wow. These were both so good. Hadn’t ever had wings quite like this, and I will get them next time I’m back. They were cut up bone still in and fried and had a great sweet and salty flavor. The service was also great. Very polite servers. I’m so glad my friends and I came here on a whim, and will definitely be returning.”

“Gotta get seafood. It’s in the name of the business. I had one shrimp taco and one fish taco. Both proteins were fried and breaded with an ample amount of slaw on top. Really good flavors. I preferred the shrimp since the texture was nice and bouncy, but the fish was good too.

There is a small tented area with two four-top tables. Other than that, I guess you gotta take it to go.

The staff was incredibly nice. Great service. I can’t wait to try the rest of their menu. A great addition to the neighborhood. In a sea of great taquerias and taco trucks in Richmond, you need to stand out and Mi Casita does just that.

UPDATE: Went back for a shrimp burrito and it’s fantastic. The shrimp is sautéed in this flavorful sauce. It’s up there with La Bamba’s shrimp burrito for sure.”

“Quite possibly one of the best taquerias in Richmond, and that is saying something as there are lots of taquerias in Richmond.

The carne asada and al pastor are tasty. They also have fish or shrimp as an option too, which are just as delicious. Veggie options are available too, including butternut squash.

But my favorite cut of meat is actually the campechanos, which is a mix of beef, chorizo and pork. It’s cool to see a unique type of meat that not everyone offers.”

The wines here are different from most wines. More akin to sour beer or dry cider. Everyone working here is kind and a little eccentric which is a great thing.”

We have been there several times in the past couple months and I’m still trying new things on the menu. My husband tried the ribs which he said were the best he’s ever had and half the serving went home with him. It was huge! Desserts are exceptional especially the flan. I’m still exploring their vegetarian options but so far my favorite is their version of chili relleno. Come and relax and enjoy the food and friendly atmosphere!”

The ingredients were fresh and their red sauce was delicious. Each child was able to enjoy multiple slices. Thank you for making our classroom celebration a memorable one.”

“I've been here with my partner a few times and it has always been a nice treat. The service and staff has always been super friendly and fast! I understand the QR code ordering can still be a shock to some, but I can say it has improved since the first time we've used it a few years back. It's fast, clear and I find it more convenient as I can always add to the order at anytime.

We were a party of 4 with one who only eats veggies. We ordered a split pot, premium beef combo, the big veggie combo, lotus, noodles, and fried tofu. The choices of broth are plenty. The mild, to me, is a bit spicier than usual so if you're not used to it, I suggest the normal broth and just add a little hot oil to your liking. That was perfect to start our table off. We added a couple of items later, but that was a good portion for 4 people. Lots of ingredients and broth choices. If you like more customization to your hot pot rather than an all you can eat business model, this place may be a better choice and in some cases, a better value.

After having been there more than a handful of times, I can safely say that I've never had a bad experience there. Always a great date night for me and my partner. With businesses coming and going in today's climate, I'm always happy to see this little corner spot in the mall still serving.

Vegetarian options: Lots of veggie options ala carte! My partner is vegetarian. The problem with all you can eat business model is that she can't eat most of the stuff yet paying a premium price. This place offers ala carte so we can do a split pot. She orders the veggies for her side and i can eat the meats on my side. Works out for the both of us!”

We had the Salmon with Vegetables, Philly Cheesesteak Sandwich and fries, Caesar Salad, Taco Salad with added chicken, and shared two desserts, the Chocolate Cake and the crème brûlée Cheesecake. It was fresh and delicious. Our waiter was super friendly, accommodating, and attentive! The inside, where we sat, looked super clean. Will definitely be returning!”
