“We ordered online and picked up our food. The restaurant is all windows, which makes a nice atmosphere, and it was very clean. It's about time we got a NOT chicken sandwich that's made from cauliflower, for a change! It's sooo good! I loved everything about it - the potato bun, mild spiced cauli NOT chicken, the sauce, even the pickle was as good as everyone raved about! lol(Wheat gluten is what constitutes most fake chicken, and that messes me up.)I'd also like to compliment the online ordering process. We got the 2 NOT chicken sliders and fries, and you can customize the sliders separately!Anyway, we loved it, and we'll be back! #gocauliflower!“
“As I was waiting hangrily 45 minutes after I placed my order and 30 minutes after the ETA on my phone this painting soothed me until I ultimately received what I drove over an hour to get. Yes, it's that good. Please order with your phone, not in person. It makes things operate more smoothly for everyone and decreases the wait time for the crack. I mean food. Well I don't know what they put in their chicken, but full disclosure you might start experiencing side effects if you don't get your fix. Consider yourself warned. It can become a pricey habit and there is no rehab to get you off their sauce. Have you twitching like Tyrone Biggums for a "Sando with training wheels".“
“We are new to the Bay Area and went to this restaurant for the first time . Their service and food was excellent! I am North Indian and not easy to please with North Indian food but I have not had such mind blowing chole kulche and sarson ka saag , makke di roti in the US . Definitely recommend . Our server, Sabi, was awesome, brought complementary French fries for my son and gajar ka halwa for us. Very hospitable, felt like we were in India. Would go back soon.Vegetarian options: We were told that the kitchen is separated into veg and non veg sections and they do not mix things up which is great!“
“My friend recommended this place to me. The place is fairly simple and clean. You order at the counter. There are a few tables for you to dine in, but I find most people order to take out.I like the Simurgh kebab sandwich. The kebabs were delicious but what stood out for me was the Turkish bread. It's not like anything I've had before. It is grilled, crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. It is probably my favorite sandwich bread now. They make them all from scratch.I've only been there twice, but it's a place I would return again.“
“Let's get straight to business... how was the food? 10/10. I got the Golden Burrito with steak. It was amazing! I let the staff know it was our first time trying it and they went into detail of how to enjoy it best with the different sauces they have available. It's also in a good safe part of town and provides clean indoor seating. Definitely coming here more often to try different items on the menu.“
“Do yourself a favor and run don't walk! The Karahi is made to perfection with slow cooked meat and pieces of ginger that give a nice textured spice to the dish. The Chicken biryani has caramelized onions folded in for pockets of sweetness. The chicken Makhni is a classic butter chicken that never misses. Their cheese Naan is gooey and delicious! I've ordered delivery and dined in before with no change in quality.“
“I’ve been on a falafel dry spell, and by dry spell, I mean every single one I’ve tried in years has been hella dry. Not so at Falafel Flare! The falafel were soft and the herbs inside them combined with the chickpea meal to create a nice, balanced flavor. I dug the pickled radish in the wrap and wish they’d included more! My only complaint is that the flavors were a bit tame, so I’d definitely recommend asking for the hot sauce, too—and more radish!Interestingly, this place used to be called Falafel Flame. The front door had the “m” peeled away, which is now replaced by an “R”. I want the 411 on that situation! It made me laugh to see the obvious change to the name.“
“We ordered a variety of their recommended dishes including a noodle soup and goat dish. My favorite is still their chicken tikka masala with garlic naan. The tikka masala is a bit thicker in consistency and their naan is slightly sweet, which adds a nice twist.“
“Amazing food at a reasonable price with generous portions. The interior has an industrial aesthetic, but it's comfortable and the staff are very friendly here. They have a great selection of Gluten Free options and they have the best shawarma fries in the area!Dietary restrictions: Plenty of Gluten-Free options here!“
“Really cute place with great service. We ordered Chicken Shawarma wrap, Soy rice platter and lentil soup. Every thing was delicious but the soup especially was just awesome. Wholesome, perfectly spiced served with two pieces of pita.We also ordered sauces, Harissa was good and so was cilantro( more like Indian chutney)Vegetarian options: Lentil soup, Soy wrap, Falafel wrap or rice platter“
“I saw the carne asada pizza on DoorDash and it sounded uniquely different so I wanted to try it out. Omg it did not disappoint! It was so unbelievably so good and satisfying! It’s like eating a taco in a pizza form. I would definitely order this for a party in the future.“
“I came across this place while I was door dashing. The menu was unique and the sandwiches sounded good. I got the Tom & Jerry on a Dutch Crunch roll. It came exactly how I ordered it and tasted amazing. There is plenty of sauce on it which I love. The bread was nice and soft too! I wish there was one closer to my house. I'd probably eat here more often. Definitely gonna order again.“
“I ordered the two plate combo. I am from out of town, so sadly I won’t be able to come here again unless I decided to take another trip to the Bay Area. The Rogan Josh was cooked to perfection, with tender chunks of meat simmered in a rich and aromatic sauce that had just the right balance of spices. Every bite was a delight, and I found myself savoring each mouthful. The vindaloo, on the other hand, was a spicy masterpiece. The heat level was just right for me, adding a nice kick without overpowering the other flavors. The tender meat soaked up the tangy and fiery sauce, creating a dish that was both satisfying and exciting!“
“Excellent fresh Mediterranean fare! Loved watching the videos of the food being prepared, all from scratch. We had a falafel wrap and a chicken shawarma wrap. A little pricey at about $20 each, but really more food than we needed. Next time we’ll share and add some salad.“
“I've eaten here 3 times. EVERYTIME the food has been delicious. every time the service has been friendly. No, it's not "fine dining". Don't expect it. They have this cauliflower dish that tastes like spicy chicken wings. I don't know how they do it.“
“This place is one of my favorite in the Bay area. The quality has been remarkably consistent over the past year and every dish I've tried has been very good. The khichari got me through COVID.I am really not a fan of picking up from here because it's always packed with delivery drivers; making parking difficult and talking to the staff quite frustrating. My mitigation strategy is to wait at the window that's to the right of the front door so they see you when they come up.Even though the above is frustrating, the food is always worth it. If the price was lower, I'd eat here more often.Vegetarian options: Lots of options!Parking: It's almost always packed with drivers. Just find the first spot nearby and walk.“
“Great place for burgers. Great hot food fresh coming out of the oil. Small to dine in eat on the go in your car or wherever. Don't get scared of the environment. You will be ok if you can stand your ground. Best prices for a good meal for family.“
“Husband asked if I wanted something from here, I said but it's chicken. And then he showed me their NOT chicken menu, substitute with cauliflower but with the same seasoning, I said yes! Chose the Cauli Slider with fries, heat level medium. The Asian spice level in me didn't taste anything spicy, a reason to order again but heat level hot next time. Husband enjoyed his medium and mild tender and slider. Cheese fries order was generously filled with cheese. Pic shown of the Single Cauli Tender, sliced on the side, thick cut cauliflower. Do not be afraid of the cauliflower, they're doing them right lol. Very tasty!Vegetarian options: Their NOT chicken menu are meatless option, using cauliflower.“
“Honestly 10/10 for everything! The food is amazing, my go to is the lamb haneeth or chicken mendi. The service is very nice, the waiter always greets you with a smile and is extremely kind. The atmosphere is one of my favorite parts. Each table has its own booth with a tent like cloth for privacy. Its a great place for family and friend gatherings. Highly recommend!“
“The food is delicious but lacks consistency. I've ordered the same dishes multiple times and often it's different portions, different packaging, different cuts of chicken etc. The okra soup was super watery today and not slimy the way it should be. I will continue to order because everything else I've ordered has been great. I just wish they still had larger portions for the $25+ plates and a little more consistency.“
“My babies dad likes to take me here sometimes for something quick and good ,their fried fish ,shrimp ,and chicken is good very flavorful they’re greens are preening good too especially to be vegetarian they are very flavorful. I’ve had their bean pies and their sweet potato pies. Pretty good as well. Definitely will help you if you’re having a fried food craving.“
“Whether in the morning, afternoon or evening, you are sure to be greeted with a positive and accommodating attitude from the employees. If you're lucky enough to go on a day when the owner is there (Lulu) she will most likely greet you by name and at the very least remember your face and a very huge smile that's larger than life. The food is a consistently good, and if there's a mistake they will correct your order as long as you don't leave. every customer is treated with the equal amount of respect and gratitude as you would find at a five-star restaurant. The restaurant and surrounding shop area is close to pristine and in good order, making you feel confident about the safety of your food. There is always someone there that is Spanish speaking so bilingual customers will feel right at home. I specifically recommend the breakfast burrito. It's fire AF“
“I've had this place bookmarked for 3 months and finally got the chance to go. After reading reviews, I went early and started lining up at 11:40am and there was already ~20 parties ahead of us. Once they opened, someone came out with brisket samples. It took about an hour til we were ordering. I've never had Texas BBQ so I can't compare but the meats were so good!! The brisket was fatty, smoky, and well seasoned. The beef back ribs were a little smokier also delicious. The bbq sauce and pickled onions made for the perfect bite, along with the sides. The nasi goreng was a pretty standard fried rice that paired with the meat but I wouldn't get it again. The slaw is refreshing and was very peanutty but I wish it was a little more acidic. The rendang plate was a miss for me. The brisket was very dry and it was too smoky for my liking for a curry. I LOVED the kale curry side in the plate though. I don't like kale but I would eat it all the time if it was always cooked like this lol. I suggest getting the belado plate to try a different meat. I would definitely come back and wait an hour again and try the rest of their menu. :)“
“This is the second time ordering from A-town pizza for delivery. The first time I only ordered from there because it was one of the few pizza places open late other than dominos and Pizza Hut. I honestly had never noticed this place on blanding. Well let me tell you-- I was pleasantly surprised at the taste, quality and timeliness of this place!! I've ordered their Hawaiian, Combo, and veggie patty-size pizzas and they've all been great and my family and guests have raved about the pizza. Super glad I found this place.“
“Well , to start off I do believe I was the first of the day, so you guys really need to clean the grill a lot better !!! the meat tastes burnt!!! other than that the flavors were there , the pickle the lettuce, yogurt sauce, the dill. The pitas were perfect 10 outta 10 . WAYY SMALL PORTIONS!!! S SIGN OF THE TIMES I GUESS...“
“This place is a hidden gem. Atmosphere was small and quaint with dine in option. Very clean and comfortable. I had Carne asada with scrambled eggs/cheese. To my surprise tortillas, rice, and beans were included too. Not to mention grilled onions and green peppers. The delicious food was washed down with Mandarin drink. I would definitely stop in again if ever in the area considering the menu was extensive with halal and Mexican options.“
“Had a great dish of lamb biryani, and a peek into Oakland's Pakistani community. While I was waiting for my order, I was offered a taste of another group's goat curry, and learned a word or two of Pashto. If you're the only one there, you'll find the atmosphere to be standard-issue convenience store, but if it's full of Pakistanis, it's like a short visit overseas.“
“I've been meaning to try Dave's Hot Chicken for awhile after seeing their LA and Denver locations! Went to a show at the Paramount Theater and walked over to Dave's. The menu is pretty simple with their different order packages (Sliders/ tenders with sides). Went for the number 2 which comes with 2 sliders and a side of fires. It's cool you can pick two different spice levels for each slider! Got the Mild and Hot to try ($16 total). The Hot is bearable and you won't be dying for water (it's Extra Hot or higher that will get you to that burn feeling!) You can also order some of their sauce and honey to add on to your sliders and it's bomb! The fries are also cooled perfectly (and you can immediately dig right in without it burning your fingers or tongue). I'd definitely come back here!“
“Finally got around to trying this place for lunch, and kicking myself for not coming sooner. I got the chicken shawarma plate, and it was so good. The chicken was really delicious, the rice was seasoned very well, the hummus was great, and even the little salad had a super tasty dressing. The service was super quick and friendly. I got my food to-go, but they had some comfy looking chairs if you wanted to eat there. Definitely coming back here. Totally reasonable prices and a good amount of food that's going to keep me full probably the rest of the day.“
“Good food. Consistent in quality. Very nice staff. Plenty of dining space and options on the menu as well as weekly specials. Food is fresh and served hot. It's a order at the counter and seat yourself place. Free delicious tea with dine in service. Parking can be hard sometimes but not terrible. A true staple in the community.“
“Small Group of hungry girls & we were Craving Chinese food. We wanted something close by & wanted to stop by another cafe in the area. Located in the Asian market complex, tucked away in the corner, near the Daiso. Lots of parking but always difficult to park in this shopping center. We ordered quite a few dishes with leftovers. Appetizers fried wontons, chicken. Mains- beef broccoli, shrimp & eggs, Chow mein, chicken fried rice. Food was good, hit the craving. Spent about $115 for 4 people. 2 sodas“
“DO NOT SLEEP on this halal market and deli in West Oakland. It has the rating it has for a reason! Also, it's super close to the West Oakland BART station if you ever need to be there. I was actually stopping by to stop by a Goth market event at a local brewery (to review shortly)... The market has all of the things you would expect. Nothing off there. The real (!!!) kicker is the counter-serve deli they have. The food is quite frankly some of the best Middle Eastern food I have EVER had - and at an extremely affordable price. You order at the counter and it takes a bit because they are actually making your dish fresh! I ordered two dishes. First, I had to order the lamb platter - the store is Yemeni and lamb mandi is unique Yemeni specialty. It's basically lamb, rice, spices, veggies, yogurt and all the other stuff you'd expect. The meal was absolutely delicious and massive. There were two giant pieces of lamb - that basically slid right off the bone. An absolutely amazing dish. I also come from a very lamb-meat-centric culture and I was absolutely shocked at how soft this lamb was - I've actually never experienced anything like it!!! Second, I ordered the veggie platter because it was cheap and wanted to take something home. It was pretty good - hummus, baba ghanouj, pita, falafel, rice - also all the things you would expect. Also a great, solid meal. They also give out complimentary Yemeni tea. I think it's sugared up green tea. A bit too sweet for me, but a nice touch if you're into that. There's a few places outside to sit. Though it was actually raining the day I went, so I had to eat in my car. So I guess the enjoyableness of your dining experience is a bit dependent on weather. Anyways, the food is cheap, generally very good, and the lamb mandi plate is absolutely one of the best things I have ever eaten in that part of the Bay. Highly recommended if you want a tasty, cheap, filling meal (especially if you need to fill lots of people) - to show up and grab a plate!“
“Fiji Fry House is between a Salvadoran bakery at the end of the block and a car repair shop across the street. The shop has an American and Fiji flag at it's side, the only decor visible. The food differs from other Fiji eats i've tasted. The food here has it's distinctness and it's influences from Indian food. Offerings: appetizers, curry tacos, Fiji fried chicken, curry rice box, ala carte, desserts, drinks... Drill: order by phone or at window, pay, food cooked to order. Eats: bhajia (9.75) -similar to pakora. Distinct in having thin flour coating, not a thick batter. 4 pieces of grounded spinach, veggies are moist throughout not dry. Has a chutney dipping sauce. Lamb & potato curry (19.75) -crunchy papadum wafer with flavorful vegetable pulao rice of fresh kachumber, pickled veggies, tumeric to soak up masala gravy. -lamb & potato in tomato and spicy masala gravy adds a spicy kick. Very fulfilling. *couple of tables nearby to dine on. **many entrees have a fusion theme combing Indian & Fiji cooking techniques..da best of 2 cuisines.“
