“3.5 stars but rounding up to 4! This is a yummy Cantonese restaurant in San Mateo. We came here by chance and I was pleasantly surprised! I'll definitely be returning here in the future. We had a group of 6 and had no issues getting a table right away on a late Saturday morning. We ordered the chicken and sweet corn soup, honey walnut prawns, pork belly with pickled vegetables, chicken and eggplant with salted fish clay pot, and garlic pea sprouts. As a Cantonese person, I had high expectations. Everything was tasty and reminded me of food that my family would cook, especially the pork belly with preserved veg. The pork belly was so tender and juicy, and I love the taste of Cantonese pickled vegetables. The soup, clay pot and pea sprouts were all good and standard. The honey walnut prawns were big and had a delightful crunch that I was not expecting! I would definitely come here again and try more dishes. Happy to know there's a good Cantonese spot in SM so close to me!“
“A wonderful discovery of Cantonese Cuisine in the City of San Mateo, CA right by the Belmont border. Highly recommend Congee of Pork and Preserved Egg with a side of Chinese Donut, Salted Fish Fried Rice, Sweet Corn with Crispy Fish, and Bitter Melon with Bee.“
“If you're looking for a good takeout style Chinese restaurant, this place is the spot! The food is really good and the portions are really large! Unlike other sit down restaurants the food comes out in a timely manner and despite how busy it is, the waiters come around and serve everyone. The only downside, I would say, is the size of the restaurant. The place is small and so bringing a large party (larger than 6) is probably a no go. Although their takeout is also a really good option!“
“The food was fresh and delicious. We were able to make a reservation, although getting there at opening meant it wasn't busy, but it filled up. Service was fairly attentive though a few dishes took a long time to get to us. Definitely the spot to hit in the Bay area for dim sum.“
“I have tried many Chinese restaurants and this by far is one of my favorites. Not only do they give you huge portions unlike other Chinese restaurants. Their dishes are delicious they have so much flavor and I've never been let down once. For their spicy dishes I'd order extra spicy because they're regular spicy dishes aren't that spicy to me but I also love spicy food and I'm very tolerant to it. If you've never tried this place you have to try it literally it's one of the best Chinese restaurants in the Bay areanow next on my list is the Mongolian beef chowmane which I'm sure I won't be disappointed.“
“Great place for dim sum! Another MUST-EAT-AT place for tourists and a GO-TO for SF natives. Dining room is typical modern Chinese, but it has a second floor loft that's perfect for weddings, red egg ginger parties, etc. Love their mini-egg tarts! Service is excellent! Their service staff work really hard so please be kind and tip!“
“De.Lish.Us. Worth the wait for sure. Want sure how to eat it since they brought me a giant spoon, so used it to mix it up then used my sticks. Was super hot (temperature) but tasted great! I'll be back. (Can we turn the heat up inside, though?)“
“Very extensive menu of dim sum during lunch hours, and standard "luxury" Chinese food at night. Usually quite a few daily specials as well. Food always seems to come out quite fresh. The space is absolutely massive, which means there's rarely too long of a wait no matter the party size (note that if you are a party of 2, you might need to share a table with another couple).“
“I got married here. My third wedding in 2 years. There must be something horrible going on with me that I'm on my third wedding already. Anyway. I had a good time. Shout out to Christy? For her attentiveness to everything we needed. Nice lady. We're from the same village. Good food. Ambiance is 10/10. Fun times.“
“No frills Chinese restaurant located in the heart of downtown. The menu is fairly extensive for the size of the restaurant, so there are plenty of options for everyone.Service tends to get a little backed up, depending on how busy the restaurant is and also the amount of takeout orders they have. Came here on a weeknight, and almost every single table was full. They also had a ton of takeout orders.I don't think you can go wrong with anything on the menu. I love their tofu dishes, and I would highly recommend the chicken wings.Parking is either street parking, or there are public lots around as well.“
“I am very satisfied with the environment, service and taste. It’s just, it’s really a bit salty! ! ! I am willing to eat it again. If it is still so salty, I will definitely leave a message to the kitchen chef! It tastes really good and the portion is plenty! ! ! Two people had four dishes and one soup, and all the regular soups for five people were finished, and the dishes were all packed.“
“We came here for dinner and had a good meal. We ordered the house special pan fried noodles, beef chow fun, roasted duck, curry fish balls, deep fried pork chop with spicy salt, beef brisket, shrimp wonton soup, broccoli with oyster sauce, pork and preserved egg porridge, and assorted pork organs porridge. We thought the house special pan fried noodles weren’t that good, but everything else was great. Our favorites were the beef brisket, shrimp wonton soup, deep fried pork chop with spicy salt, and pork and preserved egg porridge. We will definitely be back when we’re back in the area!“
“Grand Harbor Seafood and Dimsum Restaurant offers an authentic dining experience with a wide variety of fresh seafood and delectable dim sum options. The ambiance is welcoming, and the service is attentive, making it a must-visit for seafood enthusiasts!“
“One of the best place for dim sum in the Bay Area, their price is a little higher than others in the area. But the quality is above and beyond all the nearby dim sum places including Koi Place in Daly City.Below is the dinner banquet that I went to.“
“Our party had the set menu. The food was of good potions for a party of ten. The dishes came over piping hot and quite tasty and satisfying. As with any good Canto seafood resturants, very little food was left over at the end of the meal. Food rated at 4.4, service rated at 4.5.“
“I was skeptical about this place at first but I really wanted to have Chinese cuisine with my colleagues. So we planned a dinner and to my surprise, this place really satisfied my Chinese cravings. It is a bit different Chinese food that I had back home in fiji, but I am not complaining. This was really good. At reasonable prices too! Would go there again when my Chinese craving comes again! Totally recommend“
“Was there while they were hosting a wedding party. Somehow still have very great and attentive service. My GF is vegan, and the staff was helpful in making sure she had some options, ever adjusting the wagyu chowmain dish I ordered so that she could enjoy it (meat on the side).Veggies were amazing. Very different flavors. We had the string beans and the coli flower.Tea was great. The star or the night were their sipping sauces. They say they make them all in house. Cilantro sauce was the best, but they also have coconut + ginger, soy sauce, and of course chili oil.Dim sum was great as well.Ambiance was nice also.Vegetarian options: Lots of veggies clearly labeled vegetarian. I believe most of their vegetarian dishes are actually vegan as well. Great flavor. They also are willing to adjust dishes to fit dietary restrictions.“
