“Highly recommend dining here! Some of the best sushi I’ve ever had (and I’ve had a lot ?)Food: 10/10. Here’s our standouts:- bluefish trio (special) melts in your mouth. So fresh!- oyster uni (special) one of the best things we’ve ever eaten!- baked eggplant- toro taku roll: toro + uni- welcome roll: topped with salmon and a basil truffle oil. So good!Overall, I don’t think you can go wrong with anything in the specials menu. It changes each day with what’s fresh! They also have a rotating sake on their specials menu, which is fun to try new ones!“
“Other than the buss boy who made sure we had plenty of water the waiter was slow and intermittent. Was not really able to answer questions about the food. Plus I get the fact I'm going to a Japanese restaurant that shouldn't mean I need to speak Japanese.Parking: Like most everywhere in the city of Santa Barbara there is not enough parking. No matter how much the city planers desire people to abandon their cars it won't happen“
“Tried one of their special which included Mango. Worked in taste despite my curiosity. Other then some of the special dishes and their more adventures for sushi, service was fast polite and very hospitable. The servers were very friendly and had a cheerful air about them. The atmosphere of the restaurant was relaxing and delightful. The food was delicious including the dessert. I will state i did enjoy the flower roll which was one of the special of the day that I went.“
“1) Arrived 40 minutes before close time and denied service indoors and after much hesitation, they agreed to serve on the patio. Made no sense whatsoever.2) Interesting rolls. The portion size is smaller than what we are normally used to. The sushi rice was somewhat loose.Vegetarian options: There are some vegetarian rolls like Magic Mushroom.“
“I love this place! Been going here since I was a little kid. High quality food at a good price point. Would definitely recommend getting the love boat if you are wanting to try a lot of kinds of fish. I’ve had a lot of sushi in my life and I can certainly say that this is a great option.“
“Nothin like my home spot on Vermont near LA city college, space wise (its underneath a parking structure on UCSB) but every bit as delicious food wise! I work in Santa Barbara and was craving beef bowl and threw a Yelp Hail Mary to see if there was one in the area ... JACK POT!!!!“
“Excellent Japanese food option while in SB. Reasonably priced, food came out quick, wait staff was attentive, and the outdoor seating area was comfortable and nice. We ordered a 2 item bento and about 5 rolls. The only weird thing was it's the first time in my 40+ years where I had to cut my own steak and chicken at a Japanese restaurant. In any part of the world. Japan, US, etc. Not a deal breaker, because it still tasted good.“
“I've been meaning to try this place as it's in my neighborhood. Super glad I did, walked over for a fast & easy pick-up. Katsu Don & Tatsuta Age was flavorful, good portion size for both. Was very authentic & almost like home cooked. Would def be back!“
“Major hidden gem of Montecito! Great vibes, incredible service and very fresh sushi.Menu has lots of options, crazy sake list, and everything hits. Tempura was perfectly crisp, sushi rolls were on point. I will definitely be coming back.Highly recommend!“
“Had dinner here last night, and was completely impressed! I wanted just about everything on their menu, which offers all sorts of options. The entire menu felt healthy and fresh, with lots of fresh salads. I ordered the green salad, which had a peanut dressing instead of the traditional carrot miso dressing, and it was lovely and fresh, with papaya and tomato on top. We ordered shrimp tempura rolls which were perfectly lightly crispy on the outside, not overly battered. The yellowtail sushi was fresh and delicious. The miso soup had a much nicer "umami" flavor than any other I've had in town. And to finish it off, we had freshly made Japanese donuts, served piping hot - ahmazing! Overall, the best sushi dinner I've had in Santa Barbara so far. Five stars, and we'll be back soon!“
“Really nice setting. Great service. We had spicy tuna on crisp rice and edamame for appetizers. The tuna and charred avocado roll was interesting. We also ordered sake and Sapporos. The chocolate mochi ice cream with berries and shaved chocolate was divine. The menu is limited, but perfect for a light dinner.“
“Excellent takeout. We ordered over $100 worth of food and it was all great. Chick teriyaki was good quality and arrived hot. All the rolls were fresh and made well. The service was top notch. They listened to all the special requests. We will order again.“
“This is a nice traditional Japanese restaurant located at the high traffic corner of las positas and state. There is ample parking in their free lot. The food is decent. I usually just get sushi when I go. I prefer the shrimp tempura and the Hawaiian roll. One cool aspect is having dinner in one of the rooms. They are better than some of the other rolls I've tried. All in all I think there are better sushi options in town. This one is just ok. I love sushi, but I don't come here very often.“
“Went here to celebrate my girlfriend and I’s anniversary, and had such a great experience thanks to Ryan in the sushi bar and Maria as one of the hosts. Great vibes from both the people and the restaurant overall, really great tasting food (we got several different sushi rolls and nigiri), and they even gave us 2 mochi ice cream on the house. Perfect way to end the night, and will definitely come back in the future :)“
“So happy somehow I came across Yoichi's! I practically came here on a whim but made reservations in the morning on Friday. Always recommended to set up reservations anywhere pretty much especially Yoichi's is on the smaller side and has table side intimate service. The menu is pretty set with seasonal and hand selected ingredients. I was amazed at the detail of little garnishes and ingredients I've never had in my life. The service between the couple was awesome very thorough and informative. I felt like I was at home and it was a nice private course dinner basically so well worth the price for the amount of food and information I felt full!Parking: Neighborhood parking“
