“Where do I even start with this raving ten star review? ⭐️We’ve dined at Hero Ranch many times before, along with its sister restaurant Flowers Saratoga that is adjacent. So when it came time to celebrate three of our birthdays, it was an easy choice to come here. We made reservations a week in advance. When we arrived, we were promptly greeted by a friendly hostess. We sat outside on the patio which was cozy with heaters and individual blankets at each seat. While the cocktails and food were excellent, what truly made our celebration extraordinary was the exceptional service from our server, Richard. He was thoughtful, engaging, humorous, and an incredible listener, perfectly resonating with our group's personalities. Additionally, the other staff members who assisted us throughout the night were incredibly kind and friendly. At the end of the night, we were pleasantly surprised with birthday desserts, ice cream topped with caramel popcorn and a candle, which was delicious. And to top it all off, several employees were wonderful enough to join in on singing happy birthday to us, adding a magical and sweet touch to our evening.I'd like to manage expectations for other customers by mentioning that the restaurant staff doesn't typically sing "Happy Birthday" to customers, so it felt particularly special to us when they did join in on the celebration. It's evident that this business evokes a culture that values their patrons, and we can't say enough good things about Richard's attentive service with a constant warm smile. We wish we had gotten the names of everyone else, but you can see them in our video. We've been raving to our friends and family about how amazing our night was, and we're already looking forward to coming back soon. Thank you for creating such a memorable experience!“
“I cannot describe what a wonderful experience we had at the Plumed Horse. The food was to die for, the service was excellent. We decided to order the Chef’s Tasting menu and added the wine pairing. The best decision we ever made. 3 hours of teasing our tongues with the most exquisite food and wine combinations.“
“Thank you for an awesome breakfast experience. My party and I were kindly greeted as we walked through the door. Soon we were directed to our table and drink order taken. Our drink orders arrived promptly and the waitress took our orders. We ordered the Sfogliatella, double S Benny, pancakes and a croissant sandwich. The sfogliatella's dough was flaky and crispy with visible layers of lamination. The filling was creamy with delightful citrus notes. The double s benny was tasty. The shrimp was plump and juicy. The skirt steak was juicy and paired very well with the poached eggs. The Benedict came with a side of hash browns. It was the most unique and best kind I've ever had. The outside was super crispy like shoe fries and soft and fluffy in the middle. The pancakes were fluffy and light. They had the right amount of sweetness. The breakfast croissant flaky and delicious. The egg had nice mix of ham, bacon and sausage. The interior decor is very inviting and sleek.“
“Have been dying to come here and finally made it! Went with my friends and we all had a great time. It's super pretty inside. Our waiter was very friendly and attentive, but didn't hover and let us chat and catch up. We had the scallops, beet salad, risotto, chocolate cake, key lime pie and then of course the drinks! Had to get the kiss the bubble drink (Instagram worthy), snow storm, kiwi do you love me, and cantarito. The meal was good, but the drinks and desserts were what we would come back for. The chocolate and the key lime were gorgeous, presentation wise, and so good! Definitely make a reservation as it fills up fast. Can't wait to go back!“
“I'm not gonna lie, I've been to Redwood Cafe 3 days out of 7 recently, why you may ask, Music. They excel in music offerings, live bands, musicians, from Blue Grass, to Blues to Open Mic Jazz. It's what draws me to the place. The food is ok, the menu is a little too much, portions are pretty big, but the cooking is basic. They serve breakfast all day & night. You order food at the counter and it is delivered to you. They offer beer and wine, plenty of seating but the plastic picnic tables in the back are not comfortable but I guess good for bigger parties. The staff is great, they hustle, cleaning, serving. They have a nice selection of art on display highlighting various local artist, it's an inviting space with a patio outside as well. Check out their calendar for their events from music to art receptions, it's worth stopping by.“
“Bell Tower is a nice brunch place in the area. I ordered the Santa Cruz crepe, which was generously stuffed with crab, and came with shrimp and smoked salmon on the side. It was a seafood lover's delight. I also tried the chicken n waffles. The chicken was nicely fried, and complemented the soft and slightly crispy waffle. Great service. They came around multiple times despite the place being busy. I loved how spacious the indoor restaurant was, allowing for large groups and small groups, with adequate space in between. The outdoor area seemed lovely, though we did not dine in that area. Very reasonable prices for brunch given the portions, and the location. Felt stuffed at the end of the meal.“
“I work at Burke Williams Day Spa on Santana Row and I look forward to getting dinner after an hard day of massaging clients. Everything I’ve tried has been spot on. The staff is super kind and friendly especially on Sunday nights. Bris, Colby and Francine go far and beyond answering my many questions. But the highlight for me is the Cowgirl cookie. You gotta try it“
“We were impressed by the variety of food and drink choices, as well as the friendly service from hosts, wait-staff, and support crew that helped us. I especially like the majority of seating in booths and large spacious table layout that did not feel loud or crowded, even though the restaurant was nearly full. I also appreciate that there weren't TV's everywhere (except in the bar area) which can very easily distract a conversation. So Jack's is a good place to have a chat!“
“I was so lucky to get a spontaneous spot here to eat dinner last night. We sat outside in this lovely, warm and cozy space. The food was outstanding! An excellent beet salad to start with, followed by this amazing artichoke appetizer. Best prepared artichoke I've ever had in my life! For my entree I had Bowl of Soul, which was like a fish stew with plenty of prawns and tender pieces of fish that I suspect might have been sea bass or cod? In any case, it was delicious! My dining partner had the Dungeness crab pasta. I had a little taste and I was blown away. If you're looking for some fine dining and an elevated experience, don't hesitate to come to Asa. I'm looking forward to going back!“
“I came here for brunch on Easter and it's a perfect place for just that kind of thing. I should've opted for one of their more experimental-looking options but went with the classic breakfast, which was fine, but I have to do the reverse-snob thing and confess you could get better classic breakfasts at much lowlier establishments. Go for their omelettes or something instead, which looked interesting.“
“Unique spot with circa 1910 decor and mechanical pianos. Food is good quality. You have to order at the the bar but that's reduces waiters time and that's why they are able to afford the more reasonable service charge included with the bill. All and all good “
“My new fav brunch! Loved the food. I had a scramble with bacon and fruit as a side, and it was perfect! I also shared a few bites of millionaire’s bacon from a friend, unique and yummy! Can’t wait to go back. It’s a treat!Dietary restrictions: They were very familiar with my celiac and offered alternatives. Sadly I couldn’t have the side of brussel sprouts and potatoes (looked SO good), but the fruit was perfect.Parking: I parked down the street since the lot was full. Busy place and rightly so!“
“Took my teenaged son and we had the messy burger. Although they had ALL the stuff to put on a burger you could think of in a salad bar type setting so you could add what and how much of what you wanted to your burger we added nothing and it was the best tasting burger in the bay area. I live in milpitas and it is worth the drive for their burgers!! Definitely recommend this as a must do for any foodie out there !!“
“our server, Chris was amazing. We were one of the last tables which can feel rushed, but he made us feel at home and very special and it was one of the best experiences in a long time. amazing service. we are coming back because of Chris. by the way, we did not know Chris before tonight, so this is not a biased review.aside from the service, the food was very delicious and exceeded our expectations“
“first time at this restaurant amazing food service was impeccable Ken was our server his recommendations were fabulous we had the wedge salad and shrimp appetizer very good then the tomahawk steak was A1 i had the filet mignon spinach and potatoes i would go back for sure .“
“I finally had the opportunity to check out Restaurant Gish! I've had the place bookmarked for a while after reading one of my friend's reviews. Due to dietary preferences (i.e. I don't eat pork), I patiently waited for a menu that didn't appear to have pork as an ingredient. The restaurant was cozy and quaint, and it's kind of in an obscure location in a strip mall. I treated myself to dinner at Restaurant Gish and had an overall wonderful experience. I made reservations for 1 at the Chef's counter. What was cool was that the other guest at the counter was also treating herself for dinner and had never been to Restaurant Gish. The hospitality of the chefs were exceptional. They were all very pleasant and personable. In addition to sharing their inspiration and ingredients for each dish, they were fun just fun to chat with. Prior to serving the first dish, one of the chefs asked about my dietary preferences. I mentioned that I don't eat pork. He pointed out how one of the sauces had a sauce base, but he said they could modify the sauce without pork in order to comply with my preference. In fact, I learned that they modify ingredients all the time for guests. I don't have to wait so long for a menu without pork next time. Restaurant Gish offered a prix fixe menu. I opted for the wine pairings, which I thought went quite well with each dish. The last two wines paired with the entree and dessert were particularly outstanding. I enjoyed everything I ate, but I especially loved the lamb.“
“A fast paced, comforting cafe. Pro-TIP - Sit at the counter for parties of 1 or 2 and skip the waitlist Service: Fast - almost immediate, kind Food: The food came out so fast! It was definitely appreciated. I ordered the Protein Scramble ($18.50) with avocado ($2.50) and a side of fruit and sourdough toast that comes pre buttered. Overall, it hit the spot for my Sunday breakfast, and I was able to take some home for my Sunday snack. Plus: they have healthy, protein focused options, and they have a section for half meals at discounted prices (e.g. half a serving off an eggs benedict for $13). Drinks: Extensive mimosa, michelada, and alcoholic coffee options! My friend ordered the Hazlenut Mocha with Baileys and whipped cream - deliciously dense and that little twist of a taste from the liqueur.“
“I had the cheese burger and even though it didn't come out prepared as I ordered it (med-rare), I was pleasantly surprised by the texture and taste of a charcoal kissed beef patty chard to perfection,of which I had not tasted in, so very, very long. The regular style fries were also seasoned and delicious on their own without the help of ketchup. After tip we still ended up spending more than $20 per person (almost $50 for two) which is rather high in my opinion. I'd love to be able to enjoy this regularly, but it's going to be every once in awhile at these prices.“
“Aquis menu is a unique and wonderful blend of Mexican, Asian and American. The food is beautifully prepared and presented. The only complaint is that the restaurant inside is very loud. I try to find a table outside or in the bar area where it is a little quieter.Vegetarian options: Wonderful delicious choices.Kid-friendliness: No special accommodations for kids but plenty of families there.Wheelchair accessibility: Easy wheelchair access including bathrooms.“
“Wow, I really enjoyed my dinner. We stumbled into this place and it turned out so good. It’s basically American done really well.Order at the counter, find a seat and your food comes in about 10 minutes. They have a bunch of craft beers but I didn’t try any this time. They have a ton of dishes but we opted to both get steak. And it was cooked very well. Yet and well seasoned. Good portion size including the sides.Lots of seating. But a little loud. And a little cold in the main hall. The outdoor one (well, truly indoor) has heating lamps which help a lot.Looking forward to future visits.“
“Cute little restaurant that newly opened in downtown San Jose. It’s not a big place but gives you cozy, relaxing vibe. Even though it just opened, service was great food was yummy so we’re ready to come back to try other menus. Can be a quick happy hour spot too. They have a variety of wine to offer. Price was not too steep for the quality.“
“Though BBQ items were served a bit cold, they were quite good. The well-cooked Tri-Tip was so tender as if they'd melt in my mouth. They know how to do BBQ but the food needs to be served warmer. I also liked the corn bread. Small eatery. Simple setting. Self-service. Cheap utensils. For the price they charge and the sake of cutting meats, they should have invested better cutleries. They also run food truck around the area.“
“The ambiance and service here is top notch and we really enjoyed our meal. Unfortunately the food was just a little bland and the Chorizo Benedict tasted much more like a tomato sauce than chorizo but the chilaquiles were very good. The drink menu was the best part with great bloody Marys and non alcoholic options.“
“Khaly was the excellent, attentive server and she is very kind and person’s server. She did recommendations for me and colleague and there were very good quality food. She deserves to be recognized for her excellency in taking care of our table today. Thank you. Khaly.“
“Denver Omelet - 4 eggs so it's huge, with hash browns, toast & coffee. The omelet and hash browns came out semi-warm, but I think that was the service. I also shouldn't have an empty cup of coffee or water to refill. For their prices, I'd prefer they semi hover. Mid-morning, they were not busy.“
“Stumbled upon Devine for a late dinner with a friend. Liana took personal care of us and engaged with us at just the right level. The short ribs were super tender and flavorful and my friend said the seafood pasta was seasoned perfectly. The eclectic wine list worked very well with our dinner choices. The Basque cheesecake was the perfect capper. Highly recommend.“
“I absolutely love The Vesper! The decor is so beautiful, the vibe is fun, and the drinks and food are outstanding. It feels like you are sitting in someone's swanky living room with a bunch of your good friends. You can sit at the bar, a table, or their comfy couches at the front.....All dishes are shareable so that is a fun vibe too. Will be back!“
“A whole list of bloody mary to pick from, I picked the Burbank, which is properly vanished with all the expected ingredients. Had to add a bit of Tabasco to make it perfect. The breakfast portion is huge and tasty. One of the must go breakfast brunch places in San Jose. Go just for the bloody mary. It's a nice full meal!“
“It’s the best pizza in San Jose, especially the Detroit pizza! I want to leave a picture, but I keep eating the pizza before I remember to take one! It’s a smaller space if you’re dining in with a large party, so do keep that in mind, but you’re near San Pedro Square where you have plenty of space to sit and eat among friends and get drinks.“
“Home run for my gluten free family. I have two family members with celiac and neither got sick off the GF waffles and other items. Super thankful for their carefulness with our dietary concerns.Dietary restrictions: My family who is GF and no one got sick.“
“I have been coming to St. John's for 20+ years. Back in the day when they had the half off specials. I still frequent the place when I need a great burger even without the specials. You serve yourself. Plenty of space indoors and outdoors. A ton of TV's for your sporting needs. The place is packed during college football season. I highly recommend St. John's.“
“A charming breakfast spot with a hint of southwestern charm, this small hole-in-the-wall kitchen offers a variety of egg dishes, some with their own unique twist. Popular options include the New York style Benedict and Jalisco scramble. The service can be a bit slow due to the bustling atmosphere (no room to wait inside, really). Despite the crowded and noisy setting, the staff are doing their best to ensure a pleasant dining experience. As for drinks, I prefer to stick with a comforting cup of hot coffee in the morning. The only thing is for some, the price can be a little higher.“
“We stopped here randomly to kill a couple hours. Sat and ate loaded tots, drank refreshing beer, and listened to Lavender Fields Band play. We could have sat here all night if it weren’t for our flight. Great place, I’ll come back next time I’m in the area.Parking: Parking is easyKid-friendliness: Saw plenty of kids running around while we’re here they seemed right at homeWheelchair accessibility: Fully wheelchair accessible“
“We went to Scratch Cookery late on a Friday, and it was pretty packed. The line to order was a bit of a mess, but the food looked worth it.After getting a couple chicken sandwiches, I can confirm that the food was worth it. I went pretty conservative on the spice level (0 for one sandwich, and 1 for the other). I’d probably bump it up next time.A nice addition to the spicy sandwiches is the ability to use the packets of provided honey to make the sandwiches a sweet and savory combo. It was pretty nice.My one complaint is the fries. They were pretty bland and unremarkable.“
“First time at this Holder’s location. My omelette was fluffy, tender and with perfect amount of bacon, cheese, etc throughout the dish. I most enjoyed the service that was very quick to make sure we had fresh brewed coffee and to take our order. A big shout out to our server Kim. She has an infectious smile and good humor. Will be back!“
“OCK has the same owner as BeSteakA. And truly I tell you you will NOT find better food in all of California let alone the USA that compares to or is better than OCK. It’s the absolute best lunch you’ll ever have. I seriously can not speak anymore highly of them or refer them to more people. My family can’t get me to shut up about this place or Be.Steak.A.“
“We split the crabcake appetizer, which was moist and delicious and then split the Prawns in a cream sauce. The entree came as two dishes with 3-4 prawns each and generous portions of rice and mixed veggies. The only negative comment is that prices continue to rise.“
“I had the mini eggs Benedict and a decaf coffee. It was good and hot when I got it. It was the perfect amount of food and I didn't feel like I was breaking the bank. The service was great, always there at the right time. We sat in the perfect spot where it felt like we were the only ones there even though we were right by the door.Kid-friendliness: They have high chairs“
“Updating my older review: I've been coming here for years, since it's a reliable place with fair prices and quality food. (Sometimes I eat here once a week when I'm in town for work). In recent months, though, I've noticed a subtle change. The tomatillo soup (a longtime favorite) is now thinner, with less flavor. I've still been ordering it, but it's not what it was. And now, tonight, the bowl had substantially less soup- about 3/4 of what it usually is. And I also noticed the burrito was a little bit smaller. I'm always satisfied and don't get hungry for the rest of the night after eating here, but not this time. Shrinkflation? Hmmm. I give 4 stars, but I hope they continue the great quality and portions that I've grown to rely on at Aqui. If so, I'll gladly give them 5 stars again.Kid-friendliness: Plenty of families with kids here.“
“Came here for lunch on a Tuesday. I had a Bangkok chicken salad with was very tasty and filling. I think my friend's scrambled eggs breakfast was not as well prepared as the ingredients looked like it's been cooked for quite a while. Streets parking available or park in the garage next door.“
“I think Lazy Dog is just okay because there is almost nothing on the menu that appeals to me. Yesterday for example I had the Falafel Hummus Bowl and it was just okay. But my family thinks Lazy Dog is four stars. For starters we usually order Carmelized Brussel Sprouts and Quesadillas. Yesterday though instead of Quesadillas we tried the Bacon Cheddar Biscuits ?, which were a hit for the bacon lovers, and Cheese Curds ?, which were like Fried Mozzarella Sticks. For salad we ordered Ahi Tuna Salad ??. I used to order that as my entree but everyone would take some and I'd be left with almost nothing ? so now we just get it as a shared item. For entrees my youngest always gets Chicken Parmesan, my meat eaters always get Ribs ? or Fried Chicken ?, my adventurous one always tries different things (yesterday was Grilled Trout ?) and my better half usually gets Walnut Chicken Salad Sandwich but yesterday tried the Chile Ahi Tuna Bowl ?. Everyone enjoyed their entrees except me.For dessert it's always the Apple Huckleberry Pie ? and we got a free ice cream scoop ? with a candle ?️ on top for one of my kid's birthdays. The decor is like a high priced lodge ⛷️. Sometimes we eat outside because my daughter likes bringing her dog ? but I prefer eating inside and not having to hear dogs bark and growl at each other periodically.“
“I had breakfast here. It was fine, but expensive for an omelet and a cup of tea. At the price (nearly $40 all in) I would have expected something more "wow". I've had tastier meals at places with worse atmospheres and more reasonable prices.“
“I was here working for a week and was eating fast food and my body was highly upset about the whole food situation. On our last day in town I found this place with great reviews.Bartender was great and answered all our questions, I finally went with the pork chop.It was easily hands down, the best pork chop I ever had the pleasure of enjoying. Add a old fashioned and I was in a great place to be.Absolutely ?. Will definitely return to give the 5 Starz this place deserves. Do yourself a favor and just go!“
“This is a delivery super kitchen according to my niece. We didn't know that and just wanted healthy fast food before starting a long drive. Pick up was VERY fast. We ordered from the parking lot on my phone and it was ready in 10 minutes. The system for pick up was awkward but we got the food and it was delicious and fresh! I would have done it on the way back too but the young people wanted junky fast food.“
“Came here specifically for Pliney the younger! You have to order the drink in a pair with another drink. Example would be pliney the younger and pliney the elder. Guess that's their way of making more sales. Line gets pretty long. It can wrap outside of the store. Ordering the food is pretty easy through the machine. Food came out in a timely manner on their robot machine. Typical bar food with an Asian twist. Nothing amazing. Service was good. You're able to order drinks for your whole table. Give this spot a try if you're craving a beer!“
“This was a second chance for this cute little restaurant. I was craving a chili relleno and because the size varies from restaurant to restaurant- I asked for two. Holy Moly! These were huge AND delicious. Everything about the meal was great. The chips are house made and the salsa is just perfect - not too spicy and plenty of flavor. The beans- just like grandma made them! Arroz was a little 'wet' for me - I like my rice a little more dry but it did have a good flavor. The star of the show was the relleno of course. The batter, the cheese, the chili - so so good!!Well done!!“
“I'm a bit of a burger snob so I wasn't sure what to expect. I had the barn burger which was mushrooms, Swiss cheese lettuce and tomato on a French roll and it was fantastic, from now on when I have a burger craving this is where I'm “
“This place was good and I mean like really good food. I'm giving it a four because I think it would be more appropriate to call it a "lounge", not a tavern. Everything is highfalutin, which accompanies the prices. A tavern should be cheap, mainly serve beer, and probably have a pub food list. Again, this fits the stereotypical image that wants to be painted in this part of CA.“
“amazing bbq joint. closes at 4 so be sure and get there early. excellent ribs, brisket, pulled pork and sides are off the hook. recommend the beans, potato salad, and macaroni and cheese. excellent corn bread. was not a fan of the coleslaw. really good selection of craft beers, great notion, bare bottle, and others on tap.“
“Had a delightful Friday night indulging in fine dining with my family. The venue was cozy and pleasantly uncrowded, with excellent service. The set menu provided a worry-free experience, and I particularly enjoyed the tasty scallops and fusion flavors of the cauliflowers. Despite not being a fan of chocolate cake, I was pleasantly surprised by its deliciousness!“
