“OMG. A great seafood restaurant in Van Nuys! I've been around the Van Nuys/Sherman Oaks area most of my life and I would not have expected fish of this quality in mid Van Nuys. I passed by My Fish Stop on my way down Burbank Blvd and looked it up. The reviews were great so we tried it. The pan seared Cod and Red snapper were delicious with a light Cajun spice that was just right. A little bite but not too spicy. The fish was cooked perfectly. The Hush Puppies and Cole slaw and fries were all delicious. I will be a regular from now on. For seafood of this quality the price is amazing. I hope everyone in the area sees this and keeps this place going. I'll be going once a week myself.“
“This is the best shawarma place EVER!! I don’t usually write reviews but this one’s worth it! The chicken shawarma and beef pita is absolutely amazing and delicious. And if you add fries right inside your shawarma it’s like so yummy I can’t even describe! You will not find shawarma like this anywhere in LA!!P.S. couldn’t take proper picture because was too busy eating my shawarma“
“Best, fresh delicious shell food (especially oysters and steamed clams/mussles) seafood. The best lobster roll. Love the green salad with refreshing yuzu oil/vinegar salad dressing. Cheerful, competent service and an Ocean view in a cozy atmosphere. Love it, now, for many years.“
“I was really stoked to have found such a classic, while my way up the coastline. This place has the feel for the kind of mental imagery, or thought bubble, that comes to mind when you think of the phrase," local seafood restaurant," and the food definitely didn't disappoint us either. The entree portions leaned more toward large and the servings were generous in all areas of the menu, we felt like overall, it was a good value for the money and favoured the taste saved on the roof of a seasoned pallet, as well as, the satisfaction of the wide eyed stomach to the pockets of the people profiting behind the brand.“
“Great dining experience!!! Great tasting food, we had sea bass with the shrimp skewers, we loved the food. Sides of zucchini, rice & slaw were great. Fantastic service by Adela and Danny. Both were very friendly and very helpful!!! Thank you both. Will be back soon.“
“My wife had looked at a few menus before our trip to the Santa Monica Pier and had her heart set on the clam chowder in a sourdough bread bowl. Not wanting to order the same thing, I decided to try a Connecticut style lobster roll for the first time, and my son wanted some grilled white fish, so he got the kids rice bowl. All of us really enjoyed our meals and while yes, you're going to pay a little more because of the location, we thought it was a great value and a delicious meal!“
“Have been taking out fried fish , chips, mushrooms from here for 40 years! Made to order. Crispy, Greasy and delicious. Am happy they are still in business. Not a place to dine in although he has a few tables. In corner of mini mall between Shakey's and Hunan Chinese restaurant on Reseda a block off Devonshire.“
“There aren't many plant-based options. Their grilled zucchini is very good, and I highly recommend it! My family loves the fish tacos and pasta! I don't recommend the clam chowder. Overall, good food, but I wish there were more plant-based options!“
“This place has some very delicious ? and ?. Their customer service is great!!! You don't even have to wait that long for your order. The only thing about going here in this area?? is when you pull up in the parking lot there is always about 2-3 young men that are standing out in the parking lot. Which make it alittle uncomfortable to go there.Parking: Their is always like 2-3 young.men just standing around in the parking area. Which is very uncomfortable.“
“Food is good but it gets boring with that dry ole rice on every plate for a side ?. And yall aint fooling nobody with that mushy white farm fish, promoting it as branzino! ? The fish fry batter gives a nice crunchy crispy texture but it's doing too much. Brussel sprouts are fantastic but too expensive. Average cost ends up being close to 30 dollars if you get a drink and premium side. That's Cheesecake Factory prices, without the Cheesecake factory fullness you get from a meal. Overall, I really enjoy the restaurant. The grilled jumbo shrimp is slapping and so is the grilled salmon, well done. They gotta stop playing games with the rockfish. Is it on the menu or not!? (Question and exclamation point intended). The kaleslaw ain't slawin'. Baybee, it be dry and got zero flavor. I mean, if you wanna just chew like a grazing farm animal, just say that! Recommendations are Grilled jumbo shrimp, Grilled salmon, Brussel sprouts, cajun seasoning, strawberry lemonade or any of the premium juices, all the extra condiments.“
“Gave 4 Stars although I would give my order closer to a 3.5/3.7. I ordered one of my favorite combos, Grilled Delta Catfish Cajun flavor well done with regular fries and the Roasted Street Corn. The only knock is, the portion of the Roasted Street Corn was smaller than expected.“
“The food was really good. This was my first time there and I will be back again. Service was great and quick. All around the vibe there was good. I do recommend them if you are in the area. I got the cat fish and jumbo shrimp. The proportion was good and decent.“
“Visit family who live across the street several times a year and we always get lunch here at least once per visit. Have not tried breakfast but have had a variety of sandwiches and they've all been good with plenty of meat. They are fairly quick and have always been accurate. Food is for take out only. Not bad prices and the staff are always friendly and helpful. Nice (small) selection of groceries, especially drinks and chips to go with lunch. Looks like a good selection of wine, etc., but have not gotten any liquor there. Would definitely recommend for lunch.“
“Definitely a staple of the value if you like fish. The grilled fish tacos are amazeballs , and my go to is always the Atlantic Salmon Plate with Garlic Herb Butter, Rice, and Salad. They used to have a little salsa bar, but post COVID that has gone away, but you can ask them for sauces and the counter and they'll provide.Sadly, no dogs allowed....“
“There's only a few things left from my childhood in the san fernando Valley Some places have gone. But H salt Fish & Chips It's still here not the one I used to go to but it's still great and it's still the same Love it.“
“The restaurant is very clean, excellent customer service, very delicious food with a lot of variety & the presentation as shown in the reference images, my favorite dishes: Atlantic salmon with rice and zuccini, giant shrimp with asparagus! Quality of food, congratulations to the chef and the manager…“
“Grabbed a 12pc Red Snapper Fish plus Shrimp Family Pack AND a 5pc Catfish plate TOGO. I live out of town and when crave good simple fried fish, this is where I always come. Crispy, not mushy, not super salty, that Crystal Louisiana style Hot Sauce to bring the flavor out. Delicious!“
“The food is always excellent. Cooked to order so it's not super fast food but it's really good food. It is a small four table establishment. Most people take it to go. But we have sat and had our dinner there and enjoyed ourselves. They have canned and bottled beverages, no Fountain drinks. And according to my wife who is English this is the correct English fish and chips.Wheelchair accessibility: There is a wheelchair ramp to get to the walkway to the store a couple of shops away. The walkway to the store is clear for wheelchair use.“
“Great affordable prices for quality!! Fish tacos were huge! They actually forgot to add the salsa so it tasted a bit off. Should have realized it! But all in all still delicious with a perfect crunch.Nachos were also fantastic with the different cheeses and spicyyy salsa. The scallions were a new thang I never thought tot try on loaded nachos but it compliments it very well.Parking: easy if you park at the huge plaza where sprouts is. Less than a 5-10 min walk. Otherwise streeet/metered parking and paid parking structures all over downtown“
“Came here on a late Friday afternoon because I wanted to try something new — I didn’t think that this would turn out to be the best meal of the week.I had the wild caught salmon from the charbroiler with cajun fries and grilled asparagus on the side. It also came with a slice of grilled garlic bread and also grilled tomatoes and garlic. Everything was so flavorful, absolutely delicious!“
“Very good. Google Maps said I had not visited in 4 years. Ouch. Used to visit several times a year. The taste and size of the fish portions are the same, but I also agree there is a bit less fish inside the batter. But what are you going to do. Getting less for more has been a thing since forever. And I've tried other fish and chip places and none can match the taste and crunchy yummy batter. I like salt too but this fish has never had much. I also love the Zucchini and mushrooms battered up and fried. Chips have never been anything special, just frozen crinkle fries. I don't know what "authentic" fish and chips should taste like but H Salt has good food. Need spice? That's what the malt vinegar is for, or my favorite the Tarter sauce. Go ahead and double/triple dip. Good stuff.“
“I was on my way to get chicken wings but drove past Mel's Fish Shack and am so happy that I chose Mel's instead! Oh my, you guys, I promise you won't be disappointed! It's a bright and lovely shanty at the corner of Jefferson, close to La Brea. Wow! The fry meal and seasonings combination is honestly one of my top two in Los Angeles. Everything is fresh made in-house. The menu is simple, client service is swift and sweet, and the food is made to perfection. I'm salivating just thinking about it! ? Can't wait to go back!“
“Been passing this restaurant for years and often wondered how the food stacks up to other pubs. A company was hosting a lunch and learn here with a free lunch so I thought I'd nail two birds at once, no pun intended...Is never hurt any birds lol. Anywho, I ordered the fish and chips. Service was good. They were attentive to make sure we got what we ordered. My fish was crispy and hot. Presented differently than from another Irish Pub that I've gone to. Paired with the great tartar sauce, it was perfect. I'd definitely go back for more. The fries were meh...a thicker fry would be great. Inside is what you'd expect. I went during lunch so it was pretty quiet but I know things get louder later by the cars that be parked there. Maybe next time I'll have their Shepherd's Pie.“
