“Incredible sandwich shop! We drive up to the Truckee area 3 or 4 times a year during the spring and summer, and we always stop here for a sandwich to take on our hike. Heck, we almost come up here JUST for a sandwich! Typically we’ll get the chicken pesto sandwich on Dutch crunch bread. One sandwich is big enough for the two of us, and we usually add one of their big chocolate chip cookies. The photo shows just a half of the sandwich. Best sandwich ever! Great staff as well.“

“This was the perfect place to stop for lunch and a drink. We got the burger and grilled cheese with tomato bisque plus a 50/50 beer and the fizzle dance (gin fizz). Everything was yummy (except the beer was okay)! There wasn't much seating so don't think I'd want to do dinner here but worked well for lunch. I think they have other seating areas open during lunch though. Staff was friendly. Overall great place to stop in for a delicious quick bite.“

The service was exceptional, the restaurant was clean and inviting, and the food was delicious! Additionally, the location was easy to find. “We found this place after a nice weekend in truckee, all the employees were very nice and welcoming.Expect to have a decent wait, but the food is worth it….. my opinion it is rather pricey $$$Breakfast for 8 with mimosas Approximately $245 before tip I was not expecting this when the check came.But plenty of parking tasty food, lots of options and pleasant staff.Parking: Park in an empty lot next to the restaurant.Kid-friendliness: We had 4 children with us 1 being a new born. Everyone was very friendly and patient with us, kids menu was great bunny pancakes were a cool addition.“

“This place is awesome! A true gem. On the main strip in truckee, expereince home cooking vibes in a classy setting. Carlos & Ian served me at the bar. The staff make this a fun atmosphere while still maintaining a upper level class of service. Everything on the menu is made in house & you can tell. 10/10 reccomend.“

“The food was good and the service was very nice. We both had the shortribs and they were cooked nicely, with a lot of flavor and the meat was really tender. The wine was wonderful. We chose a bottle that was listed as a recommneded pic from the wine list. The price point was very affordable and we were not disappointed! The waitstaff was very attentive, but we were thrown off by the staff wearing name tags? It seemed to cheapen the experience somewhat? It kind of felt a little like a cafateria and not a fine dinning resturaunt, so they could loose the tacky nametags. Seeing how that is my only complaint, we would definetly return.“

“Exceptional! We made reservations for my boyfriend’s birthday. We got the price fixe menu and the wine pairings. Every single dish was fantastic and we learned a ton about the wine we were tasting.Wine pairing = 2.5-3 glasses of wine matched with the courses you choose. I wish there would have been more California wines on the menu (I’m biased!) but the wine did not disappoint.Price fixe menu = four choices with two special treats from the chef. Exceptional flavors and presentation.There were at least five different wait staff we interacted with, and the host, all lovely and helpful.Total cost of the meal including tip and tax came to $635.00 for the two of us. We spent about 2.5 hours dining at Trokay and most of the next day talking about it. Highly recommend for a special occasion.“

“Our family loves The Lodge. The food, as my teenage son describes, “never disappoints.” The menu is consistently good, and the service has always been great. Last night, we opted to dine in the pub, which is more casual and livelier than the dining room but better geared toward families or those that want to watch a game. For a quieter experience, the dining room is recommended. The patio is great, too, especially in the summer.“

“I stopped at Golden Rotisserie in Truckee for lunch on a July afternoon on my way to Donner Memorial Park. The place has several tables for well-decorated indoor dining, but I opted for take out. I got a chicken burrito; ample serving size for the price. Tasty and quality food, too. The menu features a variety of rotisserie cooked meats served Mexican style. Golden Rotisserie is an awesome place for quick and tasty food.“

The “General Manager” (not on site) REFUSED to allow the on site staff to turn down the crappy background music and turn up the sound on the game. WHY??? How about an explanation directly from this person whose name I know but will not post???“

A six hour trip to Reno isn’t very long, but finding a magical rest stop with good food and beer, that you can deem a ‘must stop’ for future trips is akin to seeing a unicorn.Obviously the surrounding forest adds to the charm, as does the wooden structures surrounding Fifty Fifty. Stepping out of your car, you’re hit by the quality of the clean air and amazing beauty and it puts you in such a peaceful state of mind. They have some of the top rated beer in the Sacramento/Truckee/Reno area, having won medals for many of their brews.Lots of swag available if you feel like representing, plus beer to go for the responsible drivers.Restrooms were clean and stocked.Staff was incredibly friendly, creating a small town atmosphere where people care for own another, now each other’s lawns, and neighborhoods where doors can be left unlocked.The food? I don’t even know how to describe the deliciousness of the burger I had. It had cream cheese and jalapeños on top of a burger patty so thicc it would make Kim Kardashian envious. I ordered it as an experiment, expecting to be disgusted, but from rhetorical first bite I was mesmerized. I’m salivating while writing this review, reminiscing the kaleidoscope of flavors. My two colleagues were equally overly satisfied with their meals.The beer we had were awesome and paired well with the meals.“

“This is a good place to stop and have lunch during your Northstar ski experience. However, I can't give it five stars because the prices are at least double the normal cost. That applies to everything sold here. Options for vegan or vegetarian guests are very limited. All that aside, it's a nice ski lodge, and the food is fine if you like burgers, fries, pizza, chicken tenders, etc. Lines are usually short, and the staff is friendly and helpful. It is clean and tidy.“
