I don’t know how it was my first time. Thank you for the best persian food anyone can ask for.”

“Shaks came recommended to us by our wedding photographer. Upon finding out they were Armenian Lebanese (same as my family!), we knew we would book with them. As we lived out of the country, our parents went to the menu tasting and had the time of their lives. They came back raving about the place and said we have to book. Totally didn't understand the assignment of narrowing down the menu items we should have on the big day, lol. but that's a testament to how good the food is (especially the fresh falafel). Andrew was so helpful on calls, as he is very busy and emails weren't the best method of communication, and answered all of our questions, worked within our parameters and with a ton of integrity. The team was a delight on the day of and worked their tails off in the kitchen with a smile and in front of the guests. The food was a hit with the guest and I am still thinking about the garlic that I'm sure I smelled like on the wedding night because I just couldn't get enough, lol. The leftovers were awesome to have and to share with guests, too. We will be visiting Shak's when we're in the area as a nostalgia trip!!”

“This is litterally a hidden Gem, with Cornhole on Thursday Nights and Barbecue to accompany a great selection of beers. I am a sucker for a good Red. If you have been here before, come again and check it out again. If you have never been here come out on Thurday nights, watch some Football, practice your short game or hit the golf simulators or better yet play some Cornhole with North County Cornhole. No experience necessary, just bring yourself and a friend if you'd like. NCC will take care of the rest.”

“We came with the whole family (7 of us) from San Diego & Murrieta because based on its menu Los Cabos in Vista offered all the types of seafood (raw oysters, whole fish with head and tail, shrimp, octopus). Everything including the tacos we ordered was so finger-licking good!!! Compliments to the chefs! And best of all was the service from Beyonce & Karina - quick, helpful, friendly!!! Our only suggestion would be to please add oxtail to the menu!!! Gracias a todos.”

Look I don’t want to bash a restaurant, hence why I’m still giving 4 stars… and let’s be honest, even mediocre dumplings are still better than most food options out there.

But there’s a lot of room for improvement so I’ll keep things honest and maybe someone will care enough to use the feedback.

Let’s start with the good stuff… the garlic green beans were why far the best part of the meal. Huge portion, cooked perfectly, and stole the show.

Overall, very reasonable prices but if day charge more and increase quality and freshness of the food. Maybe it’s just not the best area to increase prices so I get it.

I went to this spot for the duck… but it looked nothing like the website photo. No crisp and mostly bone… just go with something else because duck isn’t this spots strong suit.

I’m 99% sure the Xiao Long Bao were straight outa the frozen goods aisle at Costco.

Rule of thumb for the future… if a dumpling spot isn’t making the dumplings out in the open, just find a new spot or don’t order dumplings.

Now I gotta say, they over delivered on the potion size of the shrimp fried rice portion but not many shrimp to be found in the pile of rice.

Overall, good spot if you’re high as a kite and looking for some affordable and big portion sizes to kill your Asian food craving. But if you’re looking for some fresh dumplings, you’ll find a better option 8 miles away over in San Marcos.”

“We made the drive from LEGOLAND since this place had the best reviews in the area for pizza. It was definitely worth the drive. Louie, the owner, made some excellent pizzas for the family (including some picky kids) to enjoy. He knew the regulars by name, which is always a great sign.

The pizza was excellent, a thinner and crispy crust with a good amount of toppings. The pepperoni was perfectly caramelized with a bit of crunch, just the way I like it. Great service too, with a quaint atmosphere.

I will go out of my way to come again on our short trip from out of town.

“So much bang for a small buck. I ordered a small strawberry cheesecake ice cream. I got a huge serving of ice cream in a nicely sized waffle cone. There were massive chunks of cheesecake in the ice cream which had me whooping and hollering. Kind server gave me a cup, spoon, abd extra napkins. I will never order from them again!!!! I only did because my son ordered it for me cause I’m handicapped,unable to pick up stuff.
