“Shaks came recommended to us by our wedding photographer. Upon finding out they were Armenian Lebanese (same as my family!), we knew we would book with them. As we lived out of the country, our parents went to the menu tasting and had the time of their lives. They came back raving about the place and said we have to book. Totally didn't understand the assignment of narrowing down the menu items we should have on the big day, lol. but that's a testament to how good the food is (especially the fresh falafel). Andrew was so helpful on calls, as he is very busy and emails weren't the best method of communication, and answered all of our questions, worked within our parameters and with a ton of integrity. The team was a delight on the day of and worked their tails off in the kitchen with a smile and in front of the guests. The food was a hit with the guest and I am still thinking about the garlic that I'm sure I smelled like on the wedding night because I just couldn't get enough, lol. The leftovers were awesome to have and to share with guests, too. We will be visiting Shak's when we're in the area as a nostalgia trip!!”

“Family owned Italian restaurant with pride in everything that they do and everything they serve. Our meal was perfect, from the homemade bread to my pasta primavera and the spumoni after the meal. We got the opportunity to chat with one of the family members about the history of this fine eatery and that just reinforced the dining experience. It is like family there; our server was in her 14th year. They must be doing something right!

“As soon as I turned onto Main St., I knew this restaurant was going to be awesome.
From the sidewalk patio chairs and tables setup on the ‘curb’, to the old school decor, the paintings for sale, the classic crayons, and the age of their espresso machine (according to my barista son), this place did not disappoint.
We opened with the #1 voted Cinnamon Roll, just enough for the 6 of us. Excellent!!!
My family ordered the BigBird (BLT on toasted sourdough), a BLTA (BLT with avocado), the Monte Cristo, the Chicken Fried Steak, a short stack and mine was the Chorizo Omellette.
Once my plate landed, the aroma of the chorizo pulled me in and I was smitten.
Next time I’m in Vista, I’m eating here.

“A buddy of mine took me to this small joint Mexican restaurant in Vista. We both order Cani Asada burrito ?. The cashier lady is super friendly. The burrito is tasty and made just the way it should be. Meat, Fresca salsa, quacamole.! No BS rice and bean. Another bonus is chips and salsa included with your order.
Being away from San Diego for so long and unable to find a decent Mexican restaurant with authentic foods. This place hit all the spots.
Wish the meat a little bit rare, but I am satisfied with the meal. I definitely will stop by again when I am in the area. ??”

“We made the drive from LEGOLAND since this place had the best reviews in the area for pizza. It was definitely worth the drive. Louie, the owner, made some excellent pizzas for the family (including some picky kids) to enjoy. He knew the regulars by name, which is always a great sign.

The pizza was excellent, a thinner and crispy crust with a good amount of toppings. The pepperoni was perfectly caramelized with a bit of crunch, just the way I like it. Great service too, with a quaint atmosphere.

I will go out of my way to come again on our short trip from out of town.

Kid-friendliness: Plenty of kids and families dining here. Lots of TVs to distract them with too.”

Yesterday my husband and I stopped by at noon to pick up 3 dozens of donuts to take to our cousins viewing in Tj. We told this to the lady helping us, then she said "wait, let me give you something!"
