The salmon was perfectly cooked to medium with just the right carmelized outer layer. Our server last night, Andrea, has been consistently attentive and pleasant every time he's been our server (several times over the past several years). The Vigilucci's signature Vodka is excellent for a happy hour cocktail. We love both Vigilucci's restaurants in Carlsbad.”

My wife delightfully sipped from a latte, while I had a house coffee. The house coffee was uniquely flavored, a bit bitter. Steady State Roasting has reusable stirring spoons, which is eco-friendly. Finally, they offer indoor and outdoor seating, to optimize the moment. Yes, this experience was worthy of a return visit.”

I asked them to sub and they won't until I explain that I should get a credit then since the topping is included in the price. She just said she isn’t in charge. Eventually, both times they begrudgingly removed the charge. Wait, why dont they just OFFER to sub another topping or take it off the menu? Its not my problem that you are out of a topping, right?. Also, Im tired of asking for lite ice. It should just come with regular ice not filled with ice and a little tea!. It's just annoying spending up to 10$, begging for an included topping explaining i would like tea with that cup of ice and the server rolling her eyes. No thanks”

The heirloom tomato salad was to DIE for, I would eat that everyday. The oysters were small and didn’t carry a lot of meat so I wouldn’t order again. Veal chop was cooked to perfection, the capers in the sauce offered a delectable sour taste that complimented the cream and pearl onion. The corn crème brûlée should be a dessert. Truly a lovely restaurant with amazing staff like our waiter Alex. A steakhouse is a steakhouse, you get what you come for.

We had to ask to ask about 3 times to turn down the air, but eventually, we ended up getting our sweaters from the room and asked to move tables to an area that seemed warmer. The food was good (not great), and the drinks were delicious. The best part was the kid entertainment by the front entrance. They have a huge Lego pit and the kids enjoyed being creative in there after they finished their meals. Overall, thumbs up!”

“We ordered lunch at the Trap Shack during a recent visit to Carlsbad. We ordered the West Coast Lobster Roll and a lobster roll sans bun because of a gluten-free need for one person.
Opening time was 11 am, but they actually opened at about 11:15 am. We ordered and the items were made promptly. The West Coast Lobster Roll was quite good with large chunks of lobster claw and knuckle meat. This was a very pleasant surprise. For the gluten-free version, the portion sizes given in the cups were quite small even though we paid the price of a regular roll. They could be more generous in their serving sizes.
The staff were friendly, if very laid back, which is fine. They understood the need for a gluten-free choice. It would be great if they could add a couple of gluten-free items to the menu.”

“This breakfast is one of the best hotel breakfasts I've ever had. Selection changes slightly day to say but there is plenty to choose from, and even fountain drinks!
Check in being outside is weird but doable. But we saw loads of people sneaking in from the inside and finding their own seat. No one was watching the exit for that.
Make sure to reserve ahead of time.
Dinner was much better than expected!! We only did one night, and even at the discounted price was $80 for two adults and two kids! While we enjoyed the food, we elected to get other dinner our other nights for much cheaper.
Almost no service, just being seated and then plates cleared.
One of the employees got after a family for standing in the walk-in line, even though there was indeed a clearly labeled walk-in line and then doubled down after folks explained this. That was uncomfortable for everyone around and was unprofessional.
Multiple types of hot food is lukewarm at best. That's probably the biggest critique I have.”

When we walked into the restaurant, (early 8:00 am) for breakfast, there was a table that had already been serviced with about 14-16 people. Michael, the manager was already taking their order. When he was finished taking their order, he came over to our table to take ours. He told us that there was a large table before us, so it might be a while before we received our order. Surprisingly enough, within in 10 minutes!, no lie, the large table was being served their orders and at the SAME time, our order came out as well. I don’t know how they do it.
