“My boyfriend and I are pretty much sushi snobs and are critics of quality, freshness, flavor, ambiance, cleanliness and attention to detail. Junmai did NOT dissapoint! Great service, friendly, quick and hospitable. This is a must try restaurant! Would DEFINITELY recommend to friends and family!!“
“Never leave reviews but I had to for this place, absolute gem, for the price they cannot be beaten. Been going for 2+ years regularly. Small mom and pop that's takeout only (at time of writing). The chef is generous with the fish portions, and the lady at the front is very kind and checks every order to make sure it is right. My only complaint is non-recyclable take-out boxes. Leave a nice tip!“
“What really sends this place to 5 stars is the price you get here. The food is good, above average, but not the best you can get. However, it's probably the best food you can get at that price anywhere in the county. If you like eel, get the Unagi donburi!“
“This is a simple, no frills, small sushi restaurant located in Vista. It gets busy, but you never have to wait long for a seat. This is our family favorite for sushi. Their prices are reasonable. On top of that, they often have a Groupon special available for dine in only, so you can really get some good deals. The sushi rolls are well put together, fresh and flavorful. They have a wide selection. Those who don't like sushi can find other options such as teriyaki, which I absolutely love. Our favorites are the tiger roll, Crunchy roll, lemon, roll, and scary roll. We have tried just about everything and nothing has disappointed us! I absolutely love their hot tea.“
“Food was great! I love ramen and this spot is one of the best I've had! We got the Gonzo black and the tonkatsu along with some takoyaki. The Takoyaki was average, but the ramen was superb! The broth was rich and was very flavorful. The staff was really nice and the food came out quickly as well. If I'm ever in the area again, I will definitely stop by again!“
“Great food and service. The atmosphere is average hence the 3 star. The outside seating area and the heaters were GRRREAT. The Sapporo Ramen was delicious, perfectly spicy without being over the top. Kids fried chicken and rice and sweet potato fries were decent and tonkatsu was SOLID. And prices were very reasonable too.“
“Wow, what an experience and a wonderful array of food!! We tried about 10 different items on the menu, and nothing disappointed us. Our first time at a sushi restaurant and the staff helped us decide and answered all our questions about the food. The yellowtail, shrimp, salmon, seared salmon, oysters, Phoenix rolls, and edamame, just to name a few of the items we had, were so delicious! We'll be back“
“Little hole in the wall hidden gem in Oside. From the moment you walk in there are sunflowers ? and good vibes. The booths are super comfy and it's like a hybrid restaurant but fast service. Their food is delish! Definitely a regular! The sunshine fries and the hand rolls ?, but honestly everything is ?“
“Yoshino's sushi is the best. I love it and so do my children. The vinegared rice is also delicious and you can eat as much as you want. As soon as I took the first bite, I felt that the sushi was freshly made. Unfortunately, I will be moving so I won't be able to eat there anymore.“
“Visiting from LA and I would drive down here again just for the sushi. Been eating sushi all my life and the quality and taste of the fish is a 10. Additionally, the Fantasy Roll is, by far, the BEST roll I've had in my life. The Tempura wasn't my favorite, but it was by no means bad.“
“Went to Sea World over Spring break, after we left we wanted to check out Teri Cafe for dinner rather than eating in the park. Much better food and much more reasonable. This is their second location, had not been to this one before, glad we stopped, great food, great service, Ohana style vibes. You walk in and order at the counter, then seat yourself and they bring it to you. They give large portions here, which I love, not only large portions, but great food as well. Yum! I got the Dinner special #1. Coke with Teriyaki chicken, miso soup, California roll or Spicy tuna roll (for an up charge) potato salad and a huge salad. The plate it comes out on is massive and the food covers it all. I ate a good amount, but did nit finish it all. Saved some for the next day. The teriyaki chicken was tender and grilled nicely, the spicy tuna, salad, potatoes salad and the miso soup were are very flavorful and delicious. You get all that food for $17, what a deal. Our dinner for 4 cost less than what we spend at Sea World for a simple lunch. Enjoy!“
“Not only is your food so fun and great, but your staff is amazing. Big shout outs to the honest staff from Saturday night who saved my daughter's special diamond bracelet that she left on the counter when she was eating shabu shabu. I appreciate you guys so much!! Management, you are so blessed to have the honest team you do. Thank you guys, so much.“
“The food at Matsu was incredible. Super innovative without being overwhelmingly experimental, great textures, interesting flavors, all around a hit. The service was top notch. And the manager went above and beyond to adjust the timing for us because we had a crying infant. All around a fantastic experience and I wish them the best in their bid for a Michelin star. For sure as good if not better than many 1 star Michelin restaurants we’ve been to.If I had one minor critique it’s that they were out of one of the wines on their menu, which just means they need to update their inventory more often. On the flip side, they had a great by the glass menu.Overall, a tremendous experience.“
“Food was great and the female wait staff were so nice but the male kitchen staff made my friend and I quite uncomfortable with so much staring at one point it seemed all of them were out in the front and were staring so much. No hate to the restaurant but i’d like to comment on it because this sort of stuff can be very uncomfortable for women I’m just trying to enjoy a meal and don’t want men staring for no reason.“
“There’s something for everyone here. From a sushi roll to the bento combo. I treated myself, Sunday night dinner was the Cali roll and steak bento combo, came with the soup and salad. Everything was spectacular. You’re hard pressed to find a better meal.“
“Hands down my favorite restaurant! We've been coming to Teri cafe for years and by far the best deal and food for the price! From the best ramen to amazing teriyaki meals (#6 is my fav) Teri is always a hit! There are 2 locations, we prefer the one on el Camino but that's just our preference. If you stop by in the afternoons they're usually very busy but they are quick so don't let the line stop you from coming in.“
“Probably the best hidden secret sushi spot in north county. Kuro-san is a excellent chief takes pride in all his creations. Easy to talk to, share a drink or even a good joke. Everything is delicious. Sushi is not rushed and should be enjoyed slowly, This not fast food. Service is good, but, when busy might take a little time. They feeling you get when walking is. Kuro is taking you to his world and you need to soak it all in. And Enjoy!!“
“We happened to stumble upon this cute restaurant. The place is nicely decorated with beautiful hanging lanterns.Their menu offers variety of options so you can definitely find a dish that suits your cravings. They offer delicious Poke Bowl, Ramen, Teriyaki Option, Boba, Cake and even Crepes too! Very well thought out menu that includes a lot of trendy food options! Very reasonable pricing considering their huge portion.Poke Bowl and Ramen are definitely our FAV!!! Black Ramen is flavorful and very delicious!! We will definitely come back to try more items on the menu“
“It was my first time here and I just want to say that the staff was amazing the sushi rules were very well put together taste very wonderful and they had a very fast service I have to admit I was in love. Like I said it was out of the blue and I highly recommend this place if you're looking for a good place for sushi!“
“Great sashimi and sushi. Definitely worth a visit. They have tuna belly and it was great. Sea urchin, vegetarian options, noodles and many more choices for everyone. You'll want a reservation as the wait can be long.Service varies depending on how busy they are.Vegetarian options: Lot's of options for vegetarians.Parking: Easy to find parking“
“I see this place daily and always wanted to try their food. This restaurant is a real hidden gem. Tucked inside the Carlsbad mall, you could easily miss them. I was craving a Miso soup, and they didn't disappoint. I also ordered mixed fried rice, and that had chicken and garlic diced inside, and that was decisions. I also ordered garlic edamame and a nice salmon roll. Everything was made fresh. Glad I stopped in.Parking: Lots of parkingWheelchair accessibility: Yes“
“Used to be absolutely in love with Tabu however this last time I went back after years to a new location I've never tried and quality has definitely shifted slightly on the negative side. I still enjoyed my food but the old quality was missing. The staff seemed a little distracted and not on top of the tables. The atmosphere was nice though. I really enjoyed the decor.“
“Me and my Dad frequent this spot, he does business at Palomar College. We've tried all the local Sushi restaurants and this is EASILY THE BEST.Today we had a Sashimi combo each, and I had 3 hand salmon rolls. We usually get a large Kirin each and a large sake to share.HUKU's fish is high QUALITY and the rolls are wrapped expertly. Get something with rice if you wanna get full, but if you are a fan of fish the SASHIMI and hand rolls are AMAZING.The COMPETING RESTAURANTS more EXPENSIVE despite the smaller portions and LOWER QUALITY fish. One local competitor has really cheap sake but it's exactly that, CHEAP and harsh. We think this is the "BEST BANG FOR YOUR BUCK" sushi in the area!“
“We decided to stop in on a Thursday night for some sushi. We have been on the hunt for a new place since moving from Hawaii; it's very tough to find a place that isn't mostly crabbed based rolls. To say the least, we will be back. Sushi was great and reasonably priced. The extra options such as the bento box was delicious. Service was good and they seemed to have many to go orders. Great casual dining for all !“
“Absolutely crushed our expectations! The French Kiss was an absolute delight of flavors, The pork belly robata absolutely melted in our mouths, and the Summer roll (on its little skewers) was fresh and delightful.Even our dessert, the butterscotch pudding, was full of surprises. The addition of the black sesame seeds and the crushed cookies added so much complexity without taking anything away from a good, solid, creamy pudding.I did have to ding them one star on service though, as we went through our entire meal without receiving a single refill on our sodas. We didn't ask for one, but still, we shouldn't have to. Also, we asked for straws and they never arrived.Still, not enough to Mar the experience. 10/10 will come back.Parking: The parking lot in front of the place is very, very small. The Chase Bank lot across the street is for customers only during the day and a paid lot after. However, if you enter the lot and then keep going, there is free parking in a lot just on the far side of the Bank. It's really not that far of a walk to get the free parking.“
“My daughter's and I have made this our Tuesday Sushi Night. We've named it Tushi Night. We have met the owners William and Jun and we can't begin to tell you what an unbelievable experience we've had.It may not be the fanciest Sushi Place but the Sushi is out of this world. They have gone over and beyond to make our visit special each and every Tushi...and the Servers are the best. William and Jun thank you.“
“Low key some of the best sushi I’ve had in San Diego. The ambiance is nothing special but the sushi is all to die for. The Blackedge and Midori rolls are my favorite and are polar opposites. Can’t beat Blackened Tuna ! Our Server Naelani was super helpful and guided our choices! Thanks to the whole teamVegetarian options: Cucumber and tofu optionsParking: Free parking in the lotKid-friendliness: Super family oriented restaurantWheelchair accessibility: Roll up access“
“We went in for a birthday celebration and we're seated very quick, which was perfect since we had little kids. Once sat down water was brought immediately and drink orders taken. Very good recommendations from the server to get the love boat for our larger party. Servers were all very nice and responsive to all the request. Thank you for making the birthday easy.Kid-friendliness: Brought 4 kids in range from 8 to 17.“
“The food is amazing my husband and I eat here every week! It is our favorite Japanese place of the dozens we've been to. The cucumber salad and baked salmon roll are my favorites and my husband loves the fried California roll and beef yakisoba.“
“Being someone who loves sushi, this is definitely a great place to stop. My friend had talked about Rolled Up and wanted to introduce it to us. I walked around Windmill Food Court and decided that I was wanting to try some sushi. I had never tried a Sushi Burrito before and have heard a great deal of good things about it. I ended up going with The Works Sushi Burrito, and man was it delicious. Loved the great selection of fish, tempura, and vegetables that made up the inside of the burrito. High quality ingredients. My burrito took about 15/20 minutes to be made, whilst others in my group only waited for about 5. It was fantastic, but for $20 I would say it definitely is an expensive meal. If you are willing to shell out the $20 I would definitely say it's worth a try!“
“J Box @ The Island is by far my favorite lunch spot. I come here at least 1-2 times per week. They have the freshest Poke around. They really ruined all the other Poke places for me because every time I try one - I always compare it to theirs and it is never as good.“
“Our visit during happy hour on Sunday was well worth our time. The service was excellent; thank you, Natalie We ordered nearly everything on the happy hour menu (food selection). When the food quickly arrived we were embarrassed and in awe. There was so much food, and the dishes were well presented. Photos were taken. Our favs were: shashito peppers, fried salmon kama on mixed greens, both types of dumplings, and the miso soup (we asked to add mushrooms). Later after the happy hour ended we ordered espresso martinis. Ahhhh, I could write a whole review on that. Best ever had we are no strangers to different versions of this classic. This version, at this restaurant, is a must. The ambiance was comfortable, and artwork on the walls was delightfully eye catching.“
“This is a funky, earthy place. Incredible food and really friendly and informal staff. The space is small and the chairs at the bar not super comfortable, but it has a great beach vibe and most importantly tasty food. I had a strawberry mojito flavored hard kombucha on draft, very good. The server had lots of recommendations and I went with the Grandview roll and the Crispy rice. Both were great. Spicy and a touch pricy, but it’s sushi and California so not unexpected. Overall, a good spot to grab some tasty eats and experience a little local culture. I’d go back!“
“I've been eating here for over 12+ years but recently my husband and I ditched the sushi restaurant we used to go to and started eating here more frequently. The food is amazing. There has never been a time when the food wasn't good that I can remember. Service is outstanding. Van is a GREAT sushi chef who helps everyone else out in the restaurant and makes my husband really delicious uni shots. Vanessa and Malvin are also amazing at what they do. They are so nice and friendly. I recommend the Kelly roll, larb, papaya salad and the salmon skin roll. Ask for their house made garlic ponzu sauce. You won't regret it!!“
“I didn't start shopping here until all the inflation hit us, and it has been a miracle place for me. I wish I had shopped here before then. Prices are good and their bulk section is awesome. Hopefully some day they'll get curbside pickup“
“Absolutely loved this sushi restaurant! I got the double salmon tempura roll, and the baked salmon roll and they were both absolutely delicious.Service was great and they got a 30% off happy hour from 3:30 PM to 5:30 PM each day which is awesome.“
“Eating sushi here was an exceptional experience! The restaurant had a fantastic selection of rolls and specialties. The salmon, yellowtail, and tuna hand rolls were especially amazing, each bursting with flavor and freshness. It was definitely a memorable dining experience. The service by Matilda, was amazing and the chef was fast and amazing.“
“I never ever write reviews but this is my first time checking this place out and I am beyond impressed. Amazing, good cuts of fish. The best customer service- even though I was tucked away in the back of the restaurant. Will be back plenty more.“
“I enjoyed a wonderful lunch here today! The garlic edamame is extremely tasty and was a perfect appetizer to a delicious deep fried Philadelphia roll! I chose this roll because I love Pennsylvania and cream cheese, so it's a win-win . The roll was the bomb.com! . Sky sushi is a brilliant name for a restaurant because most everyone loves looking up at the sky and being grateful for the beautiful tapestry God makes for us every day! From the sun, moon & the stars; we all love to look up and ponder food for thoughts ... that's what struck a chord to have to go get me some sushi today! it's the little things ... like enjoying lunch out is a treat! thank you sky sushi you made me smile two thumbs up, way up!Next time I will have to snap a photo of the roll, so good it was gone fast , nom nom yummy! Very affordable price list too! Perfect place to hang out w family & friends!See ya next time!“
