“We had a fantastic night at Pearl Wine Bar! We have never been before and sat on their beautiful back patio -- top notch construction, with a full bar w large granite counter, several covered tables, high tops and low comfortable chairs, and heaters (although we sure didn't need them tonight!). We had drinks, bread with honey butter (yum), and shared the shrimp tacos (perfect seasoning) and the honey chicken (the fries were delicious). Our server Alicia was outstanding, and the bus person was great too. A great new location for us in Branford -- we'll be back.“

“The food service was quite fast. The food flavors and quality was amazing! The ambience is also really nice for a date night or celebrating a special occasion. They have an extensive drink selection be it sake, wine or whiskey so one can always go back to try more. “Very warm and welcoming vibe. The barista greeted us as we walked in and was very friendly throughout the entire experience. We ordered a "Bistro ham" sandwhich and Turkey and Avocado sandwich along with a lemonade and a chai latte. The sandwiches were incredible and while we waited, we were able to check out the "little free library" set up in the store window. Very reasonable pricing and very filling food! Overall great experience and would highly recommend to anyone looking for a cozy place to get some work done and grab a good lunch while you're at it!“

“Visiting CT for work, client wanted to treat us to dinner at a favorite local place. The place had a great, friendly staff. We went through a bunch of random (server picked) small dishes and everything was excellent. Tried things I would have never ordered on my own so I’m glad we went for a variety. “Service is variable. Last time I went to Barcelona in NH I arrived a little after my friend who just stepped off the train. I guess she thought the olive oil plate was for her olive pits, and since bread didn’t land on the table before her food got there when our bread finally arrived the server just poured oil onto the olive oil plate with the pits in it and told us to dip around the pits instead of replacing the olive oil plate. We actually thought it was very silly and funny but if we weren’t so close it would not be aceptable. Other than that weird interaction the drinks were good the food was good and the main server was attentive and pleasant. I worked through grad school at the west Hartford restaurant and will be having my bridal shower at the Fairfield location so I’m rooting for a little more attention to detail to become a priority again!“

“I’ve been coming here for years. The service and food are just amazing. It’s a wonderful spot to share with loved ones for special occasions or just a great night out! You cannot go wrong with whatever you choose on the menu! Do yourself a favor and try it.“

“This is my first time coming to this restaurant, I usually try something new weekly.I was treated very well, the food and drinks are A1, read the menu and, pay attention to what you order before you complain.The staff constantly checked in on me multiple times through out my stay.If I was a “social media” person I’d definitely suggest this place to Everyone!“

“Lovely place with great decor and vibe. Beer was good, I had IPA. Pizza was very light and tasted very fresh, I ordered Funghi. We went as a big group on Wednesday night. They had good jazz music live play! Overall very good. “I came in for Restaurant Week and just about had to be rolled out the door! I caught the tail end of happy hour, so I started with a mojito and a couple of oysters, both of which were quite nice. The mojito may well be the best in New Haven, as they claim, but it would be even better if they used granulated sugar or demerara instead of simple syrup. Still, very yummy! For the first course of the prix fixe I did the salmon tartar, which was very interesting. There's mustard and capers mixed in with the salmon, which gave a nice zip that went great with the avocado. I could also have eaten an entire bowl of the potato and plantain chips! Second course was the lomo saltado, which had a lot going for it. Putting the fries on top kept them nice and crispy, and the fried egg with the perfectly cooked rice was lovely. The meat and veggies were also super tender. My only complaint was that I like my saltado saucy, and this was pretty dry, so there wasn't much for the rice and fries to soak up. Still good, but could be better. Dessert was the passionfruit flan, and it was so good I almost gave five stars just for that. It was tangy without being too sour, and the whipped cream cut the acid perfectly. I have no notes--I'll literally probably come back just for dessert!“

“Jahnise was an excellent host! They greeted us and seated us right away. Immediately you are hit with the diverse flavors and colorful atmosphere of the restaurant. Plantains were amazing! One big thing to also note is that this place is POC run. It’s a staple of flavor, culture, representation, and food for the soul from love!“
