“I went to this place a few weeks back, and I'm only getting to post about it now. I can't recommend this place enough! I ordered the one meat combo with brisket, cornbread, and baked BBQ means. It was all fantastic! The brisket was so tender that sometimes forking it alone would have it come apart. One bite filled my mouth with heavenly smokey meaty flavor. This place does BBQ brisket the right way, and it's a higher quality brisket than other well known BBQ spots nearby. The cornbread was crumbly and delicious. Exactly what you'd want out of cornbread, nothing more to say here! The beans were savory and satisfying and cooked just right. They paired very nicely with my brisket. I made sure to dump all the tiny tender leftover pieces of brisket into the beans. What a delicious combo that was! If you want to impress your friends with a great takeout BBQ place, this is the spot. It's worth the ride. For a takeout place it really has the right vibe. Soulful music playing, open kitchen setup so you know what you're getting, friendly customer service! The only thing I'd love to see from this place is some additional sauces. Although the quality of meat is so great, no sauce is required, but it's always nice to have on the side. Something spicy would pair really well with this savory tender smokey brisket. The BBQ sauce that they do have is delicious though.“
“Food and service was great. First time we were there we could not stand the noise. Waitress had to speak very loud. It was a Friday night. We wantef to try again at a different time and it was so much better. We really enjoyed ourselves. We know now when to go.“
“My friends took me here for my birthday as a surprise late brunch. The service and food were excellent. We got there after 2 pm, so it was pretty quiet(which I liked). Our server(I'm so sorry I forgot his name-young, curly hair young adult). He was absolutely so nice and funny. He kept checking on us and was just an all-around nice person. The food(steak) was cooked exactly how we liked it, and it was seasoned. I don't like steak that tastes bland, so this was a treat that it had some flavor to it. The mashed(whipped) potatoes were soooo good. The bartender did a good job with my virgin fruity drink. I appreciate the service.“
“Jerk chicken was moist, tender, and bursting with flavor and heat. Perfect amount of spice and generous portion size. Platter included rice with some curry drizzled atop and stewed veggies, all delicious. The owner came by to ask me how I liked it, if the spice level was ok, etc attentive but in a genuine way.No frills counter serve but has everything you need i.e great food.“
“This is our first time eating at Favela Aroma. As we walked in this afternoon for dinner, we were greeted by the nice ,friendly owner. We were happy to see the big selection of food especially the Bbq meats ! Dishes are weighed and you are charged by the weight of food on the plate. We tried the yellow rice, fried yucca, beans, chicken wings, grilled beef and pork ribs. We were pleased with our dinners. The food was delicious and very filling. There is a nice selection of desserts of cakes and flan as well as soft drinks as well . The restaurant is very clean and spacious. You should definitely come here for delicious Brazilian food and the welcoming atmosphere.“
“There are a number of very good restaurants/eateries in Old Wethersfield. Smoked on Main is a gem specializing in BQ and BQ/fusion. It adds a more casual vibe to the area without sacrificing quality. I reviewed the menu before entering and thought I had decided on a very traditional bq meal. But when I saw the specials, my plans went out the window. I chose an order of 2 specials: Turkey empanadas and the beef habanero tacos. Both were presented well and had phenomenal flavor. I don't want to forget to mention that both dishes had a nice kick... not unbearably hot, just a wonderful kick to the taste buds. This place is a great addition to the Old Wethersfield dining scene. There's indoor seating in a very clean and modern interior. This location was the Grange Hall and obviously has gone through a major renovation. There will be outdoor seating once the warmer weather returns. I'll be back.“

“Been twice so far and can’t wait to come back! Love the sauce bar! We’ve done both bbq and hot pot, both are great. Wish there were some more side dishes but it’s so much food it doesn’t even matter! Also super great fresh kimchi! Great service and they change out the grills regularly which is nice. It’s our new go to restaurant!“
