“My wife and I went here for one of the stops on our honeymoon. The golf cart ride from the remote parking lot was relaxing. We had a water front seat It was absolutely breathtaking. The food was amazing the waiter was friendly and took time to answer any questions we had. We will be back one of the best seafood restaurants we’ve been to.”

“Everything was Great!! I walked in expecting good service and good food and I walked out a happy customer. I ordered the bbq and the j*** sauce wings, It was amazing!! I was actually licking my fingers because the sauce was sooo good. I must add the decor was beautiful. It looked so elegant on first encounter and I found myself talking about it during my whole dinner. You won't regret eating at favorites. I promise you, I will be a regular over there.”

“We were on a family dine-out after the holiday and were planning on checking out a different sushi restaurant in New London which was not open so we ended up here. And it was absolutely an amazing hit! We first were pleasantly surprised by a complimentary spring roll as we were seated. We ordered a few appetizers, couple of special rolls, their lover boat, and finished with a few deserts. Everything was surplus in quality, very fresh, nicely presented, and reasonably priced. The lover boat was a blast to everyone when it came and was an absolutely upscaled experience to have sushi and sashimi served on the boat. Checkout the photos. Their deserts were great and our favorite winner is the sticky rice with mangoes. Everyone in the family from 6 to 65 had a wonderful time dining there. Would definitely recommend and would come back next time when we are looking out for sushi time again.”

“The food is decent. We got a small pizza, foot long hotdog and a chicken sandwich. Pizza was good. Hotdog is a hotdog. Chicken sandwich was huge, but the waitress was older with no personality. Borderline unfriendly.
Worth a second trip if someone else waits on us.”

“i just wanted to shoutout Jake's Diner for their above and beyond customer service. i placed an order on door dash because I had knee surgery and its a rainy day. The door dash driver delivered me someone else order from a whole different place and then tried to blame it on the restaurant. when I called the restaurant they made me a whole new fresh order and even delivered it to me and they dont even deliver. That type of service is rare now a days. I will continue to support our local businesses. Thank you so much!”

Same concept, just better tasting food 😋 with rotisserie chicken, roast loin of pork or meatloaf with sides to chose from like roasted potatoes, corn, stuffing, mac n cheese, butternut squash, collard grees and more plus their amazing corn bread 🤤

“01.26.25- 'Big Al's Reel Reviews' - Little Galapagos Restaurant ❤️ City of New London ❤️ I dropped into The Little Galapagos Restaurant this evening to review a couple of their popular menu items which were Chicken Wings, Thai Chilli Sauce followed by Carne Asada Ecuadorians Style meal that was actually really Dope ❤️ however the Chicken wings were not great at all so they earned a Thumbs 👎🏾 The atmosphere and service was really dope there and I am sure that had I ordered anything else on the menu besides the Wings would have been just as good as the Carne Asada. “There is one thing and one thing only you're going to do here: Get an amazing grinder. Sure, they have other sandwiches that are good, and an array of breakfast items and homemade mayo-based salads that are also top-notch, but their grinders are legendary in an area that literally invented the grinder (really, look it up).

They're absolutely huge and crammed full of fresh ingredients. The mother-and-daughter team that runs the place are friendly and provide rapid fire service... necessary in a tiny place that routinely has lines out the door.

Be aware of the one drawback: Hamilton Market closes at 3 pm and does not open on weekends. This place is strictly breakfast and lunch, and most of the clientele consists of folks on their way to work or on their break. However, if you do want the magic of their grinders outside these hours, they do a big catering business too.”

“01.30.25 'Big Al's Reel Reviews' featuring Apathy- The Dutch Tavern 23 Green St ❤️ City of New London, CT ❤️ I ordered and reviewed their Cheese Steak Sandwich, Grilled Chicken Sandwich and Red Potato Salad. Apathy had a Cheeseburger with Red Potato Salad and Broccoli Cheddar soup. The big question is, "How was this Spot"?👎🏾👍🏾💣 Well I was pleasantly surprised that the place was booming when we walked in, I loved the whole atmosphere, the Owner and cook named Tim was very talkative and friendly to my Brotha Apathy and I. To top it all off he served us both delicious sandwiches👍🏾👍🏾, potatoes salad👍🏾 and broccoli and cheddar soup👍🏾. “This is currently a restaurant as the upper floor where the guest rooms are is not yet open. The restaurant was amazing! I had the most incredible bowl of chicken chili and then pork tostadas that were delicious. My spouse had the tuna nachos and spinach salad with steak that was equally wonderful. The servings were as beautiful as they were delicious. Our server was great, attentive and helpful. The host was a lovely local woman who shared lots of interesting history about the building (incredible) and surrounding grounds. We ate in the dining room with a beautiful view of the ocean and romantic background music and peeped into the bar where there was live music and lots of folks having a good time. We highly recommend for a delicious and reasonably priced meal.”

“The staff was mostly teenagers who were engaged with customers or appropriate banter with each other. The service was good, custard and what we ordered was all to be expected. Bathroom was acceptable but did not feel private (just a door that opens into main part of the business). Parking was decent and other customers were consistently coming in for pick up or dine in.”

“I am not from the area and was in town to do some shopping. My boyfriend and I decided to try some takeout here instead of back at home. I am so glad we did. Don’t tell my local favorite takeout but China Express has the best crab Rangoon I’ve ever had. We also got sesame, chicken and General Tso chicken, lo mein, boneless spare ribs, and a couple of egg rolls. We ended up with more egg rolls than I expected. This is good because their eggrolls are excellent. They are so fresh and they are not greasy. The chicken dishes were also both very good. We got a ton of food for the money we spent and will be able to eat it again tomorrow. Thank you guys so much. We will be back next time we are shopping in New London.”

“I went here with my family and let me tell you, it is the definition of FEEL GOOD PLACE! It is a cozy little cafe with 80’s or maybe earlier, handheld games spread throughout the cafe. While we waited we enjoyed playing many games I hadn’t played in years! While we were just chit chatting, all the sudden marshmallow come flying at us! My daughter thought it was so cool, we looked over to see one of the ladies shooting them from behind the counter. She came over a little while later to squirt ketchup and mustard at us, it was a prank but very funny! It was really just a string. To top it off, she brings a small claw machine so my daughter could play it and win some prizes. We found out that they feed squirrels that come up to the window, so we inquired and one of the women tried to get the squirrel to come so we could see it. Unfortunately it did not happen but honestly, just left feeling like my soul was warmed. The food was amazing! The coffee was hot and all the women working there were truly a delight! I wish I lived closer, I’d definitely become a regular. Best part- aside from taking some photos for memories, no one was on their phone. Just really enjoying the cafe and experience.”

It's (for me) primarily a take out place.
I found Golden Wok in the middle 90's when they were on Bayonet St. There menu and food quality hasn't changed in that 27 years.
I moved out of New London in 2003 and I travel back to Golden Wok at least 6 or 7 times a year.”

“My sister was in town visiting from Maine and stayed at the Holiday Inn. We went to La Luna for dinner and drinks. 5 stars isn't a high enough ranking for the absolute amazing service we had. This gem of a spot needs more love from the locals. Our dinner was absolutely delicious. Additionally, one of my biggest pet peeves at a restaurant is the staff complaining and there was NONE of that going on here. They all helped each other and it was awesome. The whole experience was fantastic 👏”
