“There are a number of very good restaurants/eateries in Old Wethersfield. Smoked on Main is a gem specializing in BQ and BQ/fusion. It adds a more casual vibe to the area without sacrificing quality. I reviewed the menu before entering and thought I had decided on a very traditional bq meal. But when I saw the specials, my plans went out the window. I chose an order of 2 specials: Turkey empanadas and the beef habanero tacos. Both were presented well and had phenomenal flavor. I don't want to forget to mention that both dishes had a nice kick... not unbearably hot, just a wonderful kick to the taste buds. This place is a great addition to the Old Wethersfield dining scene. There's indoor seating in a very clean and modern interior. This location was the Grange Hall and obviously has gone through a major renovation. There will be outdoor seating once the warmer weather returns. I'll be back.“

The food is like nothing else. We had the ricotta and it was bursting with flavor. Honey, salt, roasted garlic and chives with sourdough. Yum. I had the 15 day aged corned beef and it was hands down the best I’ve had ever and I’m a Harp! Bartender as always is the best he’s always angling for you to try one of his libations and he won’t let you go till you do: OSA is the best CT restaurant. “We hired Blue Chip Creamery for an employee appreciation event and we were not disappointed. The ice-cream was delicious and the driver (unfortunately forgot her name, very sweet blonde woman) did a great job keeping up with the orders. The pricing was very fair and the flavors were very unique, people loved the different options! The staff were also super accommodating to our last minute attendee changes. Would 10/10 recommend this truck for any event.“

My partner and I decided to venture out and try somewhere new and we may have just found our new regular spot.The dining room doesn’t have too much seating (6-8 tables max) and I would definitely consider it an intimate but cozy vibe. We frequent sushi of all calibers, this isn’t meant to be compared to Nobu or other establishments of the sort. It is an excellent neighborhood sushi restaurant.The food was fresh and delectable . My partner really enjoyed the Kani Salad as an appetizer. She said it was unique in taste and refreshing. I had a house salad with ginger dressing and the miso soup which was just what I wanted and what you would expect. We also shared the Pepper Tuna Tataki ??? absolutely delightful. I must mention all from the dressing to the consistency of the kani salad, this wasn’t the generic all you can eat, run of the mill spot.The very nice lady that waited on us was very attentive and put care into her work. The Sushi Itamae delivered with a beautiful presentation and construction of the “Sushi Sashimi Combo 4 Us”. We finished the meal off with some fried ice cream and left happy and full. I would recommend this place and we will be returning.“

Had the rice bowl and hubby had the chicken wrap - wish everything was just a bit spicier since i ordered the spicy port with the spicy chili sauce. Started with a chicken appetizer with a honey mustard sauce - that was good too (no photo). If you have an option, don't order the fries with your meal. Seem to be just frozen steak fries that aren't cooked well enough Never went downstairs but heard the bathroom situation is strange from others in our group -can't even put TP in the toilet ? SMH“
“One of the best food places in west Hartford. Truly impressed with the chef’s talent. The flatbread was phenomenal- we got the wild mushroom which is drizzled in truffle dressing. An absolute must try, one of the best flatbreads I’ve had. The couscous is a staple and delicious but the prize went to the duck confit and wild mushroom ravioli. So much flavor, and the ingredients compliment each other very well in this dish. The only somewhat down side is that it is a smaller space, so you may require a reservation“

“I came in here on a Saturday afternoon when I was in town for the Hartford Marathon. It wasn't too busy and it was easy to find a seat. I ordered a flight and a half order of nachos. The half order was a large portion and they did not skim on the toppings!“

Service depends on how busy the restaurant is, it seems like the servers get relatively large sections so when it's busy you might not see your server for a while but they are very attentive when you can get a hold of them. “This is a great spot to meet friends but I do miss the couches on the patio where I used to sit and read in the summer. Their drinks menu is always updated. Got the Chocolate Pecan Martini and my friend got the Sweetheart Martini which has White Chocolate liqueur, Rumchata and Grenadine for the pink color. Both were delicious. My friend ordered the Pear Salad but substituted feta for the Gorgonzola and added chicken. I got the risotto special which came with poached salmon, which I exchanged for grilled salmon. The salmon was perfectly cooked and melted in my mouth. I usually bring part of my entree home but the risotto was so good and the right size, so I just finished it off! If you are debating what to order, definitely go for the short rib entree - the perfect comfort food over mashed potatoes! I love the cozy couches inside and the dark lighting which gives a very intimate feel. I would love to sit at the bar or the kitchen bar sometime, but have sat in the side dining room, the main dining room and patio at various times. All great spots, although the main dining area was a little chilly by the door one visit and the hostess kindly moved us to an interior table. The lighting in the newer dining area is brighter if that matters to you.“
