“It was nice to have dinner inside a restaurant. You could see the care of clean up, the guests were spaced nicely. Our meals were fresh, full of flavor, and enough for a lunch the following day. Our server Pat was her ever charming self and mixes a great basil lemon cocktail.“
“Rice has long been our go-to place in DE for sashimi: thick cuts (as they should be), always fresh, expertly prepared. We love the wonton soup and fried rice as well, and everything we've tried from the non-sushi menu has always been a cut above. Everything tastes prepared fresh that day; the vegetables are crisp; it's never overloaded with salty, gooey sauce. So many places just cover up mushy vegetables and old rice with sugar-heavy sauce because it's what we Americans expect, but this restaurant seems to actually care about putting out quality. The staff is always courteous, too. Thank you for the lovely Valentine's Day meal my husband just brought home. You all are doing a terrific job.“
“There is a large selection of food. Everything from pizza, chicken, fish, shrimp, crabs, crawfish, frog legs, and all the regular chinese restaurant food. Oh I almost forgot that they do Hibachi and they have a large selection of Sushi. The price is reasonable and food was seasoned good.“
“Best place around the PA/DE border area. I don't order a lot of Chinese take out around here often bc I don't really like many places besides Yi Palace. I'm so glad I tried this place bc it's soo good. High quality beef Ho fun, beef with broccoli. I'll definitely be back. The white rice was also very good and well cooked. These little things matter! I wish I took a picture but I ate all the food before I realize I should. I'll be back!!“
“Good food, easy ordering from the website, quick service, accurate order and friendly staff. I order takeout and park on the side of the building, it's easier and quicker. The inside of the restaurant could use a major update and cleaning but all n all the food is delicious.Wheelchair accessibility: Park on side of the building, it's easier access.“
“The lady at the front was very patient, courteous and understood what I needed. The food was excellent and had the right spice as I had requested. Will definitely come back. She even gave me a plate to eat inside the restaurant. Never had that kinda hospitality in a Chinese takeout.“
“The owner is a very nice person. She is always smiling. The food is great, it's very hard to find anything under $10 nowadays )that's what the lunch specials cost). It's a takeout place, but it has a couple of tables if you decide to eat there.“
“A nice little Chinese restaurant tucked away in Wilmington. They make your food super fast, even at busy hours during the evening. The people who work here are kind and never mess up your order. If you’re looking for a quick bite to eat then order take-out here. If you’re looking for somewhere to dine-in you’re out of luck, as there are NO tables to eat inside this establishment. You will not be disappointed, but you will also not be blown away. Solid Chinese takeout.“
“King Garden is highly recommended for local chinese food in N. Wilmington. The kitchen and owners are very clean. The owner also listens and does her best accommodate for food allergies. Their vegetables and meats (especially the shrimp, chicken & pork) are always fresh. Only one time did we get some broccoli that was subpar, and when we brought it back to show them they quickly apologized and gladly provided a credit for our next takeout. I didn't need a special receipt or anything, the owner wife remembered us the next time we came in. Tina knows her regular customers! Parking is the only negative aspect to this great restaurant. Navigating in and out of that parking area with a Wawa on one side and a very popular Italian restaurant on the other side is often a challenge especially at peak hours or on weekends. King Garden has two designated spaces allotted to their restaurant and most times you can find one available. If you can, back in to make exiting much easier & safer.“
“I went for chitlins but they was out, so I got some pepper steak( didn't care for it) ,ribs, Mac and cheese, greens( ribs sauce to sweet for me, had better Mac and cheese, greens had no flavor until I add hot sauce).. Need to say I'm going to stick to the chitlins???“
“Buttermilk donuts baby!!!!! And the iced tra of course. The food wasn't that great for me but it did have a freshness that other Chinese food restaurants in the area lacked. The lady was nice and they made my food in great time! You should at least try it once.Vegetarian options: See menuParking: Not many spots but enough for that small plaza/strip“
“I have ordered from China House in the past several years in Newport, DE and love their boneless bbq spareribs and have just discovered their General Tsos chicken which is not spucy and has just the right sauce to compliment the crispy chicken! It's amazing! Try it you will love it!“
“Friday night take out was very good. Door dash said it was a 50 minute wait, but they were able to get it to us in less than thirty. Ordered a couple of shrimp rolls, boneless ribs, General Tso's chicken, chicken nuggets and fries. Everything tasted great-ribs were a little expensive, but everything else was reasonable.“
“The best Chinese food in Wilmington, Delaware!!!!!! I get the fried gizzards and fried rice!! You don't have to add anything to it for flavor!! Egg foo, general TSO, rib tips and lo mien are some of my faves!!!if you want a burger they make them as well!! ( they don't use those little salad shrimp) Prices are affordable!!!!“
“I WOULD however, comment that, as a disabled person, I was treated to MUCH discriminatory behavior. I use a wheelchair, just as a reference to what I mean by that. I was LEAVING the place after, to their credit, other than them deciding FOR ME, that it was okay for a fellow customer to pay for my meal WITHOUT EVEN CONSULTING ME.....I KNOW WHICH CUSTOMER IT WAS, AND I KNOW THEY DID IT OUT OF PITY, WHICH I WILL NOT TOLERATE FROM HERE AND ON IN. and, as I was leaving, a staff member asked me, in a VERY OVERLY SOLITICIOUS VOICE, which PROVES their condescending attitude, and, YOU CANNOT TELL ME ANY DIFFERENT, SO, DON'T EVEN TRY.....Is anyone meeting you, dear?' NO, no one was, and, since they were SO concerned that a 53 year old GROWN WOMAN 'needed ' to be accompanied, because, GOD FORBID, I go on a SIDEWALK by myself. Because, 'EVERYBODY ' (EXCEPT the disabled community, because, APPARENTLY, we're ALL complete idiots. ) She either needs to be RETRAINED, or, MY PREFERENCE, SOUNDLY scolded, and, if she doesn't get a grip THEN. you FIRE HER. I WILL probably be back, but, I'm going to wait until I'm REASONABLY CERTAIN she has been handled properly.“
“Pro, the food was good...The cons are, the customer are not greeted, everyone is walking around being busy and not making any effort to get you your order until you get their attention...I don't see a dining area, we are confined to a small area about 8' X 6' that was really cold...“
“Feels like home to me. Friendly management, ample delicious food at reasonable prices. You'll never regret eating here.Vegetarian options: Anything you want. If you can't find it on the menu, just ask.Kid-friendliness: The woman up front is named Joy and she's always friendly. Occationally, Joy's been known to yell at her husband Alex in the back who is a fantastic Cheff! Joy's right, most Americans don't understand Chinese, but we can still tell when you're yelling. Kids are welcome.Parking: Ample parking as I've never seen area without opportunities to park.Wheelchair accessibility: Looks like there's room though I haven't actually tried.Dietary restrictions: Plenty of low calorie vegetable options. Cuisine is never too salty. Always plenty of food as I easily get two meals out of each order.“
“My husband and I came here for the first time tonight and we were absolutely thrilled with our experience. Staff was warm and welcoming, and food came out an appropriate time. Miso soup was warm and rich and hands down the best I've ever had. We also enjoyed the pan fried pork gyoza. My husband enjoyed the Sushi A combo and I had the chicken teriyaki with the avocado and cucumber salad. All around delicious, and we will be repeat customers!!“
“I have been living in Wilmington for the past 6 months and Mimi Teriyaki has been my best option when it comes to price-quality. If you get there Chicken and Beef Teriyaki or Chicken and Shrimp Teriyaki, you will not be disappointed since they always give you enough food for two meals and the chicken has always been tender. Personally, I don't believe this place gets enough business due to its location, but I encourage people to go for lunch during work hours or even dinner for take out. At first, the owner and employees are friendly, but if you become a regular they will recognize you and treat you with kindness along with amazing customer service. This place might not be the fancy spot you are looking to dine-in, but if you are looking for the best local takeout Asian food in Wilmington, Mimi Teriyaki will be your best friend. Lastly, no business is perfect and I wish people could be more understanding and flexible when it is extremely busy or they make a simple mistake.“
“Take out only. Ordered the WonTon soup, good but the noodles are too big! Need a knife to cut them bite size. Also ordered Chicken Chow Mein, , needs more veggies, but good tasting. I also like the Hot & Sour soup. Very tasty, & loaded with veggies. If you like spice, this is worth getting.“
“Edit 03/21/2024: We liked their sushi a lot and kept going back. The most recent take-out order was on March 21st, for my husband's birthday. We were very disappointed and shocked. The rolls had mostly vegetables and just a hint of fish. My husband did not want me to take a picture and call Jasmine about it, not to ruin his birthday with a scandal. There is a brand new competition for Jasmine on Concord Pike - now is not the time to get complacent and swindle your regular customers!Great all around! NOT LAST TIME!Vegetarian options: Lots to choose!“
“Been ordering from here for probably 15 years. They’re take out only. Do you want someone pleasant and smiling? Go somewhere else. Do you want conversation and personality? Go somewhere else. Do you want good food made quickly? This is your place then. Ordering on the phone and picking up reminds me of the soup guy from Seinfeld but the food is always hot, tasty, affordable and consistent and that’s what keeps us coming back.“
“I had made the voyage to Hong Hing with 4 of my friends after school. While the journey was treacherous (in no part due to Hong Hing), our efforts were rewarded handsomely. I ordered the Wonton Soup, and a side order of rice. The portions were hefty, but the cost was extremely reasonable. The cashier served us hesitantly, but carried a smile and was welcoming. The food was enjoyable, and the company grand. All in all, my experience at Hong Hing was superb. Lest these poor reviews dissuade you, Hong Hing is a truly remarkable restaurant, befitting of nothing but 5 stars.“
“One of the best hole in the wall takeout restaurants in Wilmington, DE. They are fast, friendly, and take all methods of payment. I usually call ahead from my order and it's ready whenever I get there. Almost anything you order takes 15 minutes. I know it's cliché, but it's so true! They have sweet tea and a variety of sodas. Check out the menu pics I added to this post. Also, their General Tso chicken, and honey chicken are great eats if you're indecisive. They have good selection of chicken wing flavors that are sure to satisfy you. I highly recommend this spot for a reasonably priced quick eat! #HastyEats Foodie“
“Great food, fast delivery.Everything here is delicious and fresh. Great customer service and excellent delivery.Complainers about people not wearing a mask need to worry about themselves. Its not the restaurant's fault. You cant control people, just control yourself.“
“Friendly and happy to see their guests, this is a great spot for a solid lunch for about 8 bucks. Its not Boston style Chinese, but its a close second. Well prepared, generous portions, tasty food. The man said his folks opened up about 25 yrs ago, and I'm sad I haven't found it til now. Will be a regular spot from here out. Xièxiè, China King!“
