We had a Margherita, and a Fig and Prosciutto pizza, a roasted Beet and Goat cheese salad and Olives. The salad was excellent, beets properly prepared and the salad well dressed. Their steak sauce is worth the mention. The salad with their ginger dressing is highly recommended. We also ordered their salmon poke bowl which was fresh and flavourful. Sleepy little gem in Sanford serving elevated takes on Southern favorites. Came for a late dinner (9 p.m.) and ordered our way through small plates tapas style. Every single thing was lovingly and expertly prepared. One incredible standout was the Tomato Mac. When it was brought to the table, I thought it looked like it would be a little bland and watery, but OMG, the flavors and texture in this dish were incredible - a sweet and savory delight. Another standout was the chicken liver mousse. Chef's kiss! Also worked our way through hoecakes and the sticky ribs - the meat of which just fell off the bone. They were expertly trimmed and the Asian inspired glaze was to die for. Also sampled the cheddar jalapeno biscuits and the mushroom angolotti - all delicious. For dessert (all made in house), the cornmeal pie was to die for. Also had the smoked salted caramel ice cream, which was quite unique and inventive, as were the biscuits and chocolate "gravy."Even though the staff and kitchen were surely ready to wind down close to closing, we received excellent and gracious service and everything continued to be executed with great care and skill.I will definitely be sure to visit much more often! Our most recent stop was on Thursday and our server was Chris. The bar has been set high in the past, but Chris was exceptional. He chatted a little, checked in with us regularly, and was always working. Without exception, just when we would think we were ready for something, he was magically right there on the spot. “I would venture to guess that most folks would be a little scared to come and eat here. It looks run down from the outside, and the inside seems trapped in time. Like, 30-40 years ago. HOWEVER...when you have the best version of a relatively common dish you've ever had (and it's not even close) what can you say? The fajitas were the best I've ever had. The sides were amazing. A little South American style slaw, rice, refried beans (also the best I've ever had) and a small slice of avocado and cheese. From the obviously homemade tortillas to the wonderfully seasoned beef and shrimp to the blow away presentation in a place where I wax expecting anything BUT this...I feel like I've discovered something wonderful - and that's as good a feeling as the delicious food itself. The De Mi Pais mango drink was also divine. Not a brand you are likely to easily find wherever you are, but if you can, do it!“

And I had one minor gripe which played into the decreased star ratings. It was a Saturday afternoon and I wanted to watch UFC on ESPN. It was one of the free fights. We'll as much as the Twisted handle touts themselves as a sports bar with major channels, they could not allocate a free UFC event! One of the more popular sporting events today is Mma of some type. I chose this as the place to relax and watch it with beer and good food and got everything but the fights. Very disappointing!! I know you probably got one of those packages with predetermined channels etc. Not my problem. It's a sports bar. Be a sports bar. Get a better package! Upgrade! Fire your provider and get another. Sounds drastic, I know....but it's a popular sport I can see at any other sports bar. So until they carry UFC...I won't be returning. Sports bar. Smh.“

“Love coming here for cheap beer and a little fun! My boyfriend and I were recommended to come to this place for the longest time. Yesterday we finally gave it a shot. We parked in their large parking lot and walked right in. It doesn't look like much from the front, but when you enter, there's a lot going in. It's definitely a hole-in-the-wall sports bar. Different games were playing in the TVs and the decor is very authentic. It will remind you of your Uncle's house who used to play professional sports back in the day. Our bartender, Rachel was very attentive and made sure our beers were never empty. They also have an ATM machine to pull out money to play billiards and darts. The foot traffic was crazy and it got pretty crowded when we were about to leave. It's definitely a hangout spot for the locals and they are very welcoming to new comers!“
