“Walked into this place on a saturday night, and this place was PACKED - now I can taste why. We ordered everything to go cuz it was so packed and we didn't want to wait.Even as busy as it was, our order was ready in literally 10 minutes. Amazing customer service!Although still not the most authentic Mexican we've had, it's still one of the best in Southern Jacksonville/Ponte Vedra. I think next time we'll actually eat in the restaurant to get appropriate sauces, salsa, and other condiments. Having ordered to go, we didn't know what we didn't have til we got home. oh and by the way, while you wait they'll give you a complimentary margarita and even sell margarita bottles by the liter TO GO! dont mind if i do!!PS - love the crunchy chips and salsa. Reminds me of the best chips and salsa I've ever had from On the Boarders out West.“
“First off let me say that I work overseas and my wife really wanted nacho. So I placed an order through door dash and wasn’t able to make special request through the app. I then called your store and Courtney answered my call. She went above and beyond to make sure that my wife’s nachos wouldn’t get soggy by placing everything on the side. My wife also loves your green sauce but I couldn’t remember which one. So Courtney put all the green sauces that y’all make in our order. Which was absolutely amazing! Oh and my wife loved them all! Courtney also wrote a very heartfelt note that just made my wife’s day! So thank you very much Courtney and Tijuana Flats for making my wife’s night. When I am home we are planning on stopping to say hi and thank you in person!“
“Great place! We come here a couple of times a month. Every time has been great. Food is always hot and delicious. Our server Ricky is always top notch. And don’t forget the 32 ounce Margarita’s! The whole crew does a great job with a great atmosphere. Highly recommend this place!“
“This is the best Mexican restaurant in the area. Their food is awesome, very flavorable. Add that to the off the charts service, I refuse to go anywhere else for Mexican cuisine. I eat there at least 2 times a week. My drink is never empty. There is always bubbling laughter and great music. It is always meticulously clean. With mouth watering aromas to tantalize your appetite. You have got to try it.“
“The Enchaladas Verdes (called something else) is top tier. I've had quesadillas, tacos, Seafood tacos, burrito, fajitas and all were top tier! But I've traveled for work and eaten all-over the country and can confidently say the enchiladas here are the best! The drinks are perfectly balanced and not too heavy and not too much mixer. This is my go to Mexi spot from now on!“
“Javier was a great server. Very attentive and gave us plenty of extra time to make our food decisions. We sat outside as inside was a little crowded and loud but outside was peaceful and there were enough places to sit without the setting sun being in your face!“
“There was s mixup with the wait staff but once our waiter got started, the service was awesome. The food was delicious and we all really enjoyed it. The prices seemed better since the name change and it looks like they have hired a complete new staff. Will be back!“
“Great food!! I ordered online and the food was ready by the time I got to the place. The people are very educated. The environment was great other people that were ordering seem super happy. I would most definitely recommend to friends and family.“
“Very nice decor, great service and food! Had the chimachangas that were on special. Had a great time. Would have been 5-star review, but the margaritas were not that great, lacking flavor and tequila. We'll be back and probably order Dos Equis!“
“The place just has a magical ambiance of fun. They have multiple area to sit, but we sat on the outdoor deck as the weather perfect. Im getting ahead of myself because the first encounter I had was with the handsome and polite valet attendants who were just so pleasant! Then our server was so fun and pleasant. We placed an order for guacamole and chips to get started. It was a was a work day for me, so despite the fact they have tremendous bar and tequila selection, I opted for unsweetened iced tea. I chose the $10 taco, which is really $5.99 with delicious filet and carnitas. It was all I needed! They have tons of tacos to choose from plus street corn, entrees, and such. All was delicious!“
“Loved all the the different dishes I had. Mayors shrimp is off menu, but a must. Ask chef about it. Amazing!! Chips and queso bites were great. They have Gigantic quesadillas!!! I had the steak! All the sauces were perfectly matched. And this churro cheesecake was magnificent!! 10/10 “
“Always a great meal and time. We pass a few other Mexican restaurants on the way here but this is our ‘go to’ spot. They always keep you stocked w chips and salsa which I appreciate. Tons of choices on the menu and the servings are plentiful. Everything is made scratch except the chips. Staff is very attentive without being overbearing. Place can get busy but you never feel too crowded and we’ve never had to wait more than a few minutes to be seated. Overall it’s just a great place to go to get a healthy portion of really good food at a fair price. We’ll be back next week.“
“Love this place!!! Our new and improved Cantina! Food is amazing and great atmosphere! We sat at the bar with Daniel, and he is a breath of fresh air! Very attentive, super cool, and makes the best margaritas! We will definitely be back! ?????Vegetarian options: Vegan and gluten-free options“
“I looove this place I've been coming for more than 2 years (I'm a regular now), to me they're the best authentic mexican tacos in Jax. A hidden gem.My dad who came to visit from Mx tried them and said that they were better than 70% of the taco spots in our hometown (in Gto, Mx). Thats all Im gonna say❤️ hands down the best authentic tacos in JaxLoveooo!! Authentic Mexican tacos, I have been a regular customer for more than two years (even a friend of Don Pascual), my dad came to visit from Gto and I took him for practicality at night, he commented that they are tastier than 70% of the taquerias from our city in Mexico, with that I tell you everything….Pic below my husband with the owner Don Pascual“
“I lived in the area for three years a while back. Ate here at least twice a week for the sriracha shrimp tacos. They’re the best taco I’ve ever had. Recently went to the St Augustine Beach location and they had buffalo shrimp tacos instead. Was hoping it was just a location thing, but just perused the menu on here and am sad to see it’s the same here. I was planning on bringing my son and his girlfriend to eat lunch here tomorrow. Not so sure now. I know there was a shortage of sriracha, but I’ve seen lots in the stores lately. Bring back the sriracha shrimp taco please!! Buffalo shrimp is nowhere near as delicious. If I bring my own sriracha can y’all make them like y’all used to just for me?“
“What a wonderful place! This is our 2nd time coming here and was again amazing!Karina S. was a most helpful and accommodating waitress, she went above and beyond in making our experience enjoyable❣️The fried fish tacos were light and crunchy, and chicken mole tamales were warm savory. A wonderful place through and through. We Will definitely be coming back soon.“
“Best tacos in Jax born and raised in California. And this so far is the closest thing that reminds me of home. Great job to these guys! Highly recommend! Best part is when I went it was raining and they have a side truck for a sitting area. They have great music playing the vibes are great!“
“The owner, Ricardo was a very talented man who worked very hard, and was very kind. He and his family make awesome cabeza quesadillas. The meats he used were amazing and I love his lamb soup. He recently passed away on June 15th, 2023, and I am praying for his family that also work very hard. This taco truck was the best first experience to food trucks for me.Vegetarian options: They can make a quesadilla for you with sautéed veggies. They are also pescatarian friendly.“
“This place is a family friendly spot with good vibes and on top of that the food tastes straight out of my Mexican grandmas kitchen . It is our go to spot for authentic Mexican. For anyone complaining they obviously don’t know how to communicate like an adult because I assure you the owner is very involved and would only let customers leave happy with their experience. Try the Al Pastor tacos best in town!“
“The shrimp tacos are so freaking amazing!!! All ingredients were super fresh and the shrimp was cooked and seasoned perfectly. And the house- made sauces took it next level! Thank you for coming out tonight to Orange park hospital for the night shift. Please please please come back soon!!!!“
“This place is wonderful, good food, the atmosphere and the decoration were super pleasant to look at and if it is about pleasant then it is worth highlighting the attention of the waitress Gloria, super professional , we loved the experience and to a large extent it was because her service to “
“Very delicious and tasty authentic Mexican food the queso is fabulously delicious literally the best queso in all of Jacksonville so far I definitely recommend this place for any and everybody absolutely???????????????Vegetarian options: Has more than enough vegetarian optionsKid-friendliness: As a Kind and Generous kids friendly menu and kid atmosphere“
“Good food, pretty good service, nice decor. I usually sit outside & get a mart & chips, but the "cold" weather took us inside. The waiter was great with the initial drinks, personable & good with getting the orders in, getting the food to us. Halfway through, I ordered a second glass of wine, & it never came. Finally tried to cancel it, & he brought it, as it was already poured & had been waiting. (Beers for my companions came fast.) Overall, won't keep me from going back, but they weren't really full. There are a lot of restaurants in the shopping center, so they probably need to step it up.“
“From all the Salsas in Jacksonville this is the best one. Almost every weekend we travel from Orange Park to St. John’s to eat here. The servers are great and the food is delicious. The manager and his wife are very friendly and hospitable. My favorite plate is the chicken and shrimp fajitas and they always prepare them the way I like them. Give this Salsas Restaurant at Durbin Pavilion a try, you won’t regret it!“
“I eat here many times a month. The food is always consistent. I haven’t ordered anything that wasn’t good. Salsa is always fresh with just the right amount of spice.Vegetarian options: Mexican salad, Avacado ranchero, cheese quesadilla to name a fewKid-friendliness: Beautiful art in the walls. 3 tv’s, booster seats and kids menu.Wheelchair accessibility: Plenty of low tables and double doors for plus size chairs. Restroom is easy to access as well.“
“As a visitor from Kansas on the last day of winter, a seat outside on the covered veranda was a welcome treat. You can never go wrong with a burrito or some fajitas. Top notch food and customer service. Plenty of shopping in Town Center to walk it off!“
“If you want authentic- look no further!Since moving from Los Angeles, I crave authentic Mexican food and while this is a Dominican Republic restaurant, they serve wonderful lengua tacos, fried to perfection yucca, and sweet plantains. It really hit the spot for lunch and there were so many other delicious sounding options. From arepas to menudo, chile relleno, mondo go and so much more to chose from, my interest was piqued and I can't wait to come back. The waitress was friendly, bilingual English Spanish, the music was hopping, and the grocery had so much more! Some of my plantains were a bit dry and I craved a different dip, but overall this was a fantastic find!“
“Añejo is an exquisite Mexican restaurant that exceeded my expectations in every way. From the moment I stepped in, I was greeted by a warm and inviting ambiance that perfectly complemented the culinary journey ahead. The décor was tasteful, highlighting Mexican culture without being overwhelming. What truly set Añejo apart was the impeccable service, particularly from our waitress Mirian. Her knowledge of the menu was extensive, and she guided us through the various options with patience and enthusiasm. She recommended several dishes, including the signature mole enchiladas and the flavorful cochinita pibil, both of which were exceptional. The food itself was a testament to the chef's skill and dedication to authentic Mexican flavors. Each dish was thoughtfully prepared, using fresh ingredients that elevated traditional recipes to new heights. The presentation was also noteworthy, adding to the overall dining experience. The drink selection at Añejo was impressive, featuring a wide range of tequilas and mezcal options. Mirian skillfully curated a selection of cocktails that perfectly complemented our meal, enhancing the flavors and providing a refreshing contrast. In conclusion, Añejo is a must-visit for anyone looking to indulge in authentic Mexican cuisine served with exceptional hospitality. Mirian's attentive service added a personal touch to our dining experience, making it truly memorable. I cannot recommend this restaurant enough and look forward to returning soon.“
