“This review is long overdue but I only started posting reviews recently and now I’m playing catch up on lots of places! Jade Garden is absolutely amazing for take out food!! I have been coming here for over 25 years, it was called something else way back then but I’m pretty sure it’s the same family throughout… The food is always fresh and delicious, the lunch specials are a great deal! The family is also very friendly, even when I call to place my order they recognize the number and know my order!! I first started coming here when my store was in the same plaza and even though my store is now across Bee Ridge for the past 24 years I still risk my life to walk across and get lunch because it really is that good! “We picked up takeout from bamboo Garden - under new ownership and it shows! The food is delicious - all your fav NY style Chinese favorites! Be sure to have their Shrimp Egg Rolls and Chinese Donuts! The Mongolian Beef has a great taste.....yummm the BEST! We found the food very fresh and well made. . I highly recommend this place. Great portion sizes and great quality and attention to detail.“

“Quite serviceable. Not gourmet sit down fine dining, and tables are basically used by folks waiting for their orders, but excellent for what it is, a strip mall take out joint.

The spice dishes are generally set for an American palate, so I could see someone who has a need for heat being disappointed. (I don't, and I don't know what happens if you ask for it spicy.) Unlike the spice, they do not hold back on the sugar, if it comes with a sweet-ish sauce, it will definitely be quite sweet - i.e. bourbon chicken, even Gen. Tso's is more sweet than hot.

The shop next door is a cigar bar, so for me, it's just as well it's take out. I don't smell it inside, but the sidewalk air is sometimes tainted and on those days I'm happy to let my nose reset on the drive home. And I do drive by a couple other places to get here.

I don't understand the criticism of the egg rolls in some reviews. They may not be outstanding hand rolled gems, and I feel pretty certain they are from the same supplier that services most (all?) of the similar take out places locally, but they are well executed, always fried to order hot, and really rise above with a dab of the hot mustard (not the insipid packets, but the little cups of the "good stuff" - not on menu, just ask).“

“Love Mr Wok. Extensive menu, great food, cooked fresh on the spot, large main entree portions, very reasonably priced. For several dollars extra try any lo mein instead of rice as a side dish to go with your entree. We order to take out and they are extremely quick.“

“First time in, I went for dim sum, had steamed
tripe, chicken feet in black bean and salt and pepper calamari, all was very good, the calamari really did not have much of a salt and pepper flavor but I think it is better than to much salt and pepper, it was delicious anyway but I would just call it fried calamari, it also was sprinkled with crushed peanuts and some greens that was a nice touch, my waiter was very good and friendly, I can't wait to go back for dinner some time and will be back for dim sum for sure

Vegetarian options: I really did not look for it, but I did see a few vaggie and tofu dishes on the menu

“Have been there a few times with my friend after school and the food always hits. Their fried rice is the best I’ve had in Sarasota and the egg rolls are amazing. They package so much food into a tiny container for only 10-15 bucks, and the staff is great.“
