“I have never once been disappointed when I get Island fin poke. From the clean welcoming environment when you walk in the door, to the fresh delicious food. We are so lucky to have such a fantastic locally owned poke shop here in Tallahassee.“
“My first visit was for dinner. We sat at the bar and asked the bartender, "what's good on the menu" to which he replied "I think everything is good". As it turns out, Summer is not one person, but the last name of the family that own the restaurant (including the "bartender"). We ordered ribs and pulled pork (they were out of brisket, which is often the case if you don't get there early!) and let me tell you, the "bartender" was right. The ribs were huge, juicy and falling off the bone. The pulled pork was amazing. Best fried okra I've ever had. The portions were enough to share or second meal. We returned several times to try and score some brisket and HOLY COW its no wonder its always sold out. Its slap yo mama good. Summers Smokehouse may be a little out of the way, but the food is out of this world. I don't write reviews. Ever. But this bbq compelled me to!“
“Third time eating here last night and I have not been disappointed once. Delicious food, fun atmosphere, friendly service and the owner is awesome. Every meal I’ve had here he has been out to our table to say hi and make sure we are happy. You can tell he is passionate about his business and that’s makes such a difference. We will definitely return again. Live music was awesome too!“
“Backwoods Crossing catered our wedding a few weeks ago and did an OUTSTANDING job! We had guests from all over the country and they all commented on how wonderful the food was. Everything they serve is farm to table. We had crab cake balls, bacon wrapped scallops, and the best stuffed mushrooms you have ever tasted. For our dessert we had a vision of a donut cake. Kayla and DJ constructed an actual wedding cake made with krispy cream donuts and it was the centerpiece of the night! The staff at Backwoods was also great to work with. Alex and Taylor did a wonderful job coordinating all of the details for our big day. Hire Backwoods for catering or go eat at the restaurant- they go above and beyond!“
“I did some research on the best breweries in Tallahassee and DEEP was consistently in the top three, so I decided to check it out during my travels. Needless to say, I was not disappointed in the product at all. The beer is excellent! You know a place located in a business park that all the locals rave about is gonna be great because they’re surviving on the product and not location. Definitely worth checking out! (Note: I took a pic of each beer after taking a sip. Minor mishap on my part)“
“This is a wonderful locally-owned spot located in Railroad Square. I thought they just did water ice, so I although I knew about them, I had not been yet. But then I realized they have a full menu and since I am a sucker for chicken cheesesteaks, I had to check them out. The food is fresh and prepared to order and the wait is definitely worth it. I paired my cheesesteak with their fried pickles, which were lightly breaded and perfect. I added one of their Pucker Punch specials, which pairs lemonade with your choice of water ice flavors (I went with mango). It was very refreshing and before I left I grabbed a pine colada version for my hubby (who said it was delicious) and added some blueberry water ice scoops to what was left of my original drink. The staff was super friendly and working diligently to get everyone what they ordered as soon as they could. I will definitely be back!“
“Nice little place to stop in for a drink. It's not an extensive menu, but what they offer is good. I really like that they offer different sizes, you don't have to commit to a full pour which means you can try more than drink. They serve some snacks, but you can bring in food. There are places close by, including pizza next door, and they often have food trucks.I'd like to try their coffee sometime.“
“Outside sitting and brunch... simple, small and easy going Sweet Pea sits just off the street. Order at the counter and they will bring it out to you in short order. I choose the "tofuevos ranchero", which was quite delish and very filling. Tofu scramble with rice beans and tomato on two corn tortillas. The cumin was a bit strong for my preference, but it was still a good start to my day. They were out of a few things I would liked to have tried, but this is a small and vegan focused place. Most enjoyable was sitting outside on a warm winter morning enjoying a good meal.“
“I have been to Vino Beano on several different occasions (birthday parties, wine nights, and coffee stops) and the service has always been amazing!! Alinna has always gone out of her way to make sure we are well taken care of. Highly recommend trying this place out!“
“Craft and quality. I’ve been coming to ology locations for several years. All locations are great. At northside I noticed their attention to detail with “clear ice”, fresh squeezed juices, and garnishes on cocktails. Great food and beer to boot.“
“AMAZING pizza. It really is bigger than your head. The staff had amazing customer service skills and were welcoming. The place however was a bit disgusting. There is visible dust and discoloration on the walls. It needs a deep clean for sure.I would go back though. Pizzas good, cheap, and filling!“
“We have enjoyed Lucky goat coffee for couple of years now and wanted to share this with our friends as a Christmas gift. We ordered a combination of coffee blends and had them delivered to our friend’s house unaware they recently moved. However, thanks to Taylor and Lucky goat they made it possible to not only deliver a second package to the new location but also in time before the holidays! This is truly above and beyond customer care making all the difference and makes feel treated as family!“
“Really great food, service, and atmosphere. Some of the best wait staff, and worth the wait if you have to. Get here early, as this place is usually busy for a good reason. There is a slight hum in the plumbing if eating inside, but is usually drowned from the noise of the crowd. Eating outside is nice under the oak tree.Parking: The free parking is for cars only, and about 30 spaces. Easy in and out.“
“This is one of our favorite breweries. It is laid back, great beer, and they have a variety of fun games to play (Battleship, Guess Who, ring toss, game systems, etc.). They are kid friendly, dog friendly, and tolerate people pretty well too :) There are usually food trucks or you can bring your own food too and have live music some nights too. The staff and owners are incredibly nice!“
“The Wine House on Market Street is a cozy place in Tallahassee for a date night with wine and often with live local jazz. The menu has small bites with authentic German flair, a unique selection of wines, and only a $10 corkage fee. Kudos to Mr. Rodney Jordan and Friends for their enjoyable performance tonight!“
“Visited this morning. How is this the first time?!? Avocado Toast, Breakfast Sandwiches, Quiche, Pain Au Chocolate, Guiness Beef Handpies, Galettes, and so many other things I want to try. Bringing home Guava Sourdough Pastry Poptarts with Buttermilk Cream Cheese Frosting to share with the family. Will be back!“
“My son and I went there for a late lunch and even though we were the last patrons there we were treated as if they had all day. The food was excellent, of which I’ve posted pictures and our waitress was wonderful. I definitely recommend going here for breakfast, lunch or brunch. Any time is good and you will fall in love.“
“This is my favorite bar in town. It has a nice nostalgic feel to it and Lauren is such a lovely bartender and person. The crowd is a mix of older and young professionals. It's the perfect place to go to have a beer by yourself or with your friends.“
“If you’re looking for quality, affordable food come to vale! Their staff is very well trained Jessie and Jewl were so helpful by providing us great recommendations! I have so many dietary restrictions but I can truly say Vale has options for everyone! Make sure to stop by and try the Açaí bowls with amazing presentation!“
“I can’t believe how many great breweries Tallahassee has and Oyster City is no exception! They have a full offering of beers for everyone! IPA’s, Sours, Lagers, you can find it here! They have a great outdoor area with weekly entertainment and all of the staff are super friendly! Like merch? They have an extensive selection of that as well!“
“Generally one can get in and out of here for a quick lunch. We ordered, ate and exited in 30 minutes. We ordered a 6 shooter, which was tasty. I didn't care for the pickles, found them a bit too sour, but the jalapeños gave a nice kick. The inside was comfortable and not noisy, so conversation was easy. Silly, maybe, but my favorite was the tootsie roll treats!“
“Smallcakes Tallahassee has the gourmet cupcakes you have been wanting! They are talking about more than regular vanilla and chocolate! They are locally-owned and operated shops offer 13 daily gourmet cupcakes flavors and 2 special flavors available every day!“
“Awesome!! Came Saturday around 1:30pm and got smoked Mahi dip and a burger to share. Also had 2 beers and 4 mimosas and it was under $35. Jenn and Jarvis were amazing. Very attentive and checked on us frequently. Food was on point and came out quick. Definitely coming back. Thanks guys!“
“You have to try their snickerdoodle Latte it's on their secret menu! The service was phenomenal and everyone is so friendly. Oat milk option and perfectly balanced coffee. I highly recommend this coffee shop and the seating/vibes are everything that makes your local coffee spot pop!“
“Staff took great care of us. Their food truck was delayed, so some of the menu items were not available. I understand this happens, and I will not fault them for it.Can easily be missed from the street as it is connected to a gas station. The food was great. Fresh food and toppings.“
“We have used Proof Brewing Company as a private event venue for our company parties for as long as I can remember. I cannot say enough extraordinary things about the venue and the people. The venue is expansive, and offers lots of nook and crannies to setup different things. The bank of high-top bar tables when you first walk in provide the perfect location for your welcome information and giveaways, the area with couches and coffee tables is great to setup a little area for the kiddos, and the outdoor patios (with heaters for those cooler nights) are outstanding. We host with an open bar, and there is not a guest request the bartenders have not been able to accommodate over the years. The food is incredible! Our guests all expect to see burgers and French fries, but Proof’s catering menu rivals the best catering companies in town! From house pimento cheese with porter braised candied bacon and green onion in a mini phyllo cup, to sous vide garlic baby octopus. Every bite is amazing, and the food is attended by a team who keeps it stocked and fresh at all times. For the first events we were afraid to order some of the cold seafood dishes like oysters, ceviche, and shrimp since we used to work for catering companies, and have high standards for food safety and the presentation. Let me tell you… the kitchen team is trained well, thoughtful, and over-the-top accommodating.Overall, Proof’s communication and organization leave nothing to be desired. We used to purposefully change venues for our events to other local restaurants and bars, but have not done so since the first time we hosted at Proof Brewing Company. The location is run and staffed by some of the most genuine, hard-working people, and we cannot sing their praises enough.Tried to find a good video for those interested in hosting a private event at Proof to get an idea of the space, so I found an old video at https://youtu.be/sOrEMvrMwk4 if that helps anyone in seeing the layout. It's fantastic!“
“First visit to Tallahassee since our son graduated in 2012. Great atmosphere and great food and service. Place was packed so we sat at the bar. Quick and friendly service from the bartender. The BLT dip was delicious and so were the MadSo burger and fries. We will be back.“
“Wow, where can I start… that server Abby she absolutely lit up my world. It was like a ray of sunshine, the serving world needs to take notice because she is the standard! The buffalo chicken dip I had was absolutely sublime, couldn’t ask for a better dinner.“
“It had been a long month. Maybe a long year.I saw that Bruster's was on the way to my destination, so- of course!Jamese was really friendly and super helpful in figuring out exactly what I wanted- gave me 3 examples and all 3 were great. Two were PERFECT!Saw a lady basking in the sun like a cat on a windowsill, enjoying her ice cream in the warm sunshine.Rather than scurrying off to my car and hustling to me next stop, I just took a moment, enjoyed a vice meal from a dear friend...And just enjoyed The Moment.Glad I did. Thanks, Bruster's!“
“Great selection and quality. They make some of their own syrups and I usually try to get lattes with those since it tastes fresher. I also love their tea lattes, they have their own tea blends. I’ve bought a few of their teas and the duchess gray is lovely. I come here to study once a week too, it’s pretty popular so hard to get a table sometimes. But overall I enjoy this place a lot!“
“DELICIOUS! Tried four different flavors, key lime, peanut butter, sinful caramel and cookies, and cream. All were amazing in taste and very moist. The icings were all so good, and the ratio of cake and icing was perfect! The person that helped us was extremely nice and quick!“
“First time visiting Cafe de Martin in Tallahassee. We did carry out but we plan to dine in. Very clean indoors with a beautiful outside dining area. We ordered the Jalea Marina and the Tallarines verde with lomo Saltado. Everything was expertly packed and delicious when we got home. Probably the best carryout food we’ve ever had. Definitely coming back.“
