“I came to this restaurant to try the ramen. I’ve been to many other ramen locations in the area. The ramen was very delicious and the portioning was fair. The avocado seaweed salad was very different but delicious. The pricing was on the higher end. The special ramen bowls were priced comparable to other restaurants, but the build your own ramen bowl gets expensive. A marinated egg is $1.50 which wouldn’t be a bad price if it wasn’t for the fact that you only get 1/2 an egg. If you want two whole eggs, you’re paying $6.Although though the pricing for the build your own bowls starts at $8, you going to pay for everything else in the bowl including vegetables. It’s one thing to pay for meats or expensive alternatives, but having to pay $1.50 to add onions is ridiculous. The service must be a hit or miss. We got sat at a booth but received the bartender as a server, who was not very attentive. When a restaurant’s menu has a spice meter to choose from, water/ drinks are important for a server to check on periodically. Although my server was not very attentive, the other server checking her own tables looked to be much more attentive.Overall, I believe there are far better options for Ramen in the Temple Terrace or New Tampa area. I did not try the seafood boil, so I have no opinion on that focus of the restaurant.“
“The food and the staff were the best thing that happened to me that day, we were able to enjoy the hunter combo in which the amount of meat was beyond the plates, we could only eat it because everything was delicious, Many thanks to the owners and everyone staff for such a similar experience.Highly recommended place if what you are looking for is to eat delicious food in a good atmosphere.“
“We have tried several Chinese places in the Temple Terrace area, but China Star has surpassed them all. They are price competitive, the store is clean and their soups are the best around. We haven't tried everything on the menu yet, but their quality and consistency over the last 9 orders we have placed are spot-on. Definitely a good choice in Temple Terrace.“
“Went for the first time on a Saturday around 4:30pm. My brother got the chicken tacos and I got the chicken quesadilla. We also got sides of rice and beans. The chicken was juicy and flavorful. Portions were a good size and filling. The sauces that came with our meals were yummy and not too spicy. It wasn't too busy dining in but lots of people were picking up take out. I deduct one star for it being fairly pricey. For the quesadilla, 4 tacos, and sides of rice and beans + drinks we spent $45.“
“I am a seafood lover and prefer this place over Mr and Mrs. Crab as of late. We frequent often when in the area. Just visited again Friday and had a great experience. Our waiter was Chong and he was absolutely fantastic at what he does. We had about 4 kids with us all under the age of 12 and he was patient as patient can be. Definitely will be returning.Parking: Since the restaurant is in a plaza during its peak parking is extremely difficult to find. Be prepared to drive in circles for a period of time.“
“Our first time here, and it was very clean and friendly place to be. Our server Elissa was very kind, and had impeccable service with how quick she was to fill water, take orders down and accommodated our dietary needs perfectly.Dietary restrictions: We needed a steak with no dairy and fried with non and she adjusted the meal to make sure we could eat.“
