“Since discovering a gluten intolerance, this was my first experience dining out. I asked Krystle about gluten free options, and she brought me literature pertaining to all their allergens. I also have an allergy to raw carrots and celery (not very common). The manager Caroline personally brought my food out, and individual portions of blue cheese, to ensure that they were not touched by either carrots or celery. I must say, as someone with food allergies/intolerances, they did a fantastic job all the way around.“

“My wife and I have always enjoyed eating at Steak 'n Shake. We recently went there after they have made some good changes. Now, you order on kiosks and then they call you when your food is ready. We like it even better now. Do not go there without getting a milkshake. They are fabulous.“

“Crackers Island Grille- Cape Canaveral- 3-stars "Flawless execution will trump low-quality ingredients every time." -- The Big Boy "Where will I lunch today?", was my thought as I grabbed my random restaurant generator and headed towards the BBDO mobile. As the name scrawled across my screen, I saw I was heading up the coast to Cracker's Island Grille. Taking my time and enjoying the drive, I had time to reflect a bit on my job. Since I started this over two years ago, BBDO has grown by leaps and bounds topping out at over 14K followers across social media. I am extremely humbled by this and it steels me to continue forward. My GPS told me I had arrived and I found myself in front of a strip mall 1 mile north of the famous Ron Jon's Surf Shop and across from Golf N Gator. I arrived in the BBDO mobile at precisely 11:15 AM and the place was busy. Awaiting my turn, I glanced about the place and was quite taken in by the decor. They have a nice little island/surf theme going and this contributed to a very relaxed atmosphere. After a short wait, I was shown a table, handed a menu and told my server would be right with me. As packed as they were, I wondered what exactly that meant. It wasn't too long before a server approached my table and introduced herself as Brittany. Brittany was very prompt, charming and had our drink order back in no time at all. Along with the drink order, I also requested the Bouillabaisse and one order of the special of the day, Gator tacos (wondering if the meat was fresh based on the proximity of Golf N Gator). Brittany assured me this was not the case. I was sure this made the animal rights people happy, however, I was not. I have to say that first of all, Cracker's Bouillabaisse looked better on the menu than it did in front of me (see pictures for comparison). But, the smells wafting up were pure gourmand nirvana. With just the right amount of heat and all the seafood one could want, the flavors were complex, tantalizing and just a tad hot on the palate. The seafood seemed low quality (frozen, not fresh), but the execution was performed well. The accompanying bread was warm and slathered in garlic butter that added a nice compliment to the seafood stew. Dying to try something I never have before, I eagerly dug into the Gator tacos next. Wow. That is my professional opinion of these delightful tacos. Just, wow. Served on warm flour tortillas with fresh-cut tomatoes and cooked to perfection they were absolutely as delicious as they were unique. The meat was tender, juicy and extremely flavorful. The seasoning really got my taste buds dancing and there was just enough heat to make sure they were not only awake but stayed that way for the duration. The Gator tacos alone were worth the drive up the coast. Not that one needs an excuse for that. As I am sure my loyal readers know, I firmly believe that the only thing that matters in regards to a successful slop house and one that fails is execution, not location, not parking, not service, not interior design (though those all certainly help). If the food is good, as I've said before, you could open a food shack in the middle of the Okefenokee Swamp and people would flock to it. Make no mistake about it, Cracker's is not a fine dining establishment, they use low-quality ingredients, but man oh man you can tell the chef/cook cares about what is slung forth from his kitchen. The execution of all the items I had was done flawlessly, and everything was delicious, especially the Gator Tacos, those were unreal, proving once again what I've said ad nauseum, execution, execution, execution! The Big Boy says, "when in the area and in the mood for some cheap eats and seafood, head on over to Cracker's Island Grille, you won't be disappointed!" #iamthebigboy #bigboydiningout“

“We were seated almost immediately at a good sized table for the. The waitress was there right away and took our drink order. The drinks were really good ?. We were given enough time to figure out our food order. Appetizer came out first and quickly. Entrae's came just as we were finishing up the appetizer. Everything was delicious and plentiful. No room for dessert was left. I highly recommend Cabana Shores.“

“Today we came in and the host was not the brightest! My elder mother walks with a walker and the host took her down the most narrow path and watched as she hit every chair and then didn't even orfer to help or move them. Of course this instantly upset us all. Then she left the menus on the table and walked away as my mother was still walking up the ramp! We sat down and the waiter came over, Marcus P he was absolutely amazing 👏 listened to my mother as she told him how embarrassing that was for her and how upset she was and he just listened and completely went ABOVE AND BEYOND FOR OUR TABLE. HE WAS VERY FRIENDLY AND TOOK GREAT CARE OF US. HE CHANGED THE OUT COME OF OUR VISIT. THANK YOU MARCUS 😊 🙏. ALSO THANK YOU TO THE COOK AS WELL YOU PREPARED THE FOOD QUICKLY AND IT CAME OUT TASTY. THANK YOU.“

“Stopped in for lunch on a Monday, decently busy. Service was prompt and greeted immediately. Ordered a Village blues burger, their take on a bacon and blue cheese. Burger was phenomenal, temp was spot-on medium. The char on the meat was superb the grill master allowed just enough of the char flame to tickle the surface and create that perfect crust but still protecting the flavor and moisture. The bacon crispy and just enough not to over power the beef. Bun fresh toasted, this burger magician is a master craftsman. LTOP as always. The gorgonzola funky and creamy just as you would expect. The sauce...the house made sauce.... lemon honey aoli, the balance the acid, the sweeteness the creamiest, pretty sure cherubs themselves spread this glorious masterpiece on the bun. Will I be back?! Does a snake piss low to the ground? Yes. This little Gastropub hits all the expectations and more. Cheers!“

“Seaside Florida Grill 1550 A1A Satellite Beach, FL 32937 4 Stars I was excited to try Seaside Florida Grill in Satellite Beach, as it has the same owners as Le Crepe De France, which would be a BBDO Top 5- 5-star restaurant if they fixed the service nightmare. I know it sounds hypocritical when I consistently say service doesn't matter, only execution. This place is the exception that proves the rule. However, that does not appear to be the case here. Seaside Florida Grill is humming along on all cylinders. The first thing I noticed was their fantastic drink menu. Gina is our service professional today and she is outstanding in every way. I asked Gina for one plate of Lobster Pasta, an order of Lemon Caper Grouper, some Blue Cheese Mussels and one New York Strip (medium rare). I snapped some pics of the place, and that was when I realized there was zero internet access. There was no usable WiFi at all, and it would seem this building effectively blocks all service. This is not a bad thing. Talk to your tablemate! Gina was soon seen returning with our order, and I set myself to the task at hand. Turn your peepers to the photos, and you will see how delicious everything looks. However, as we all know, looks can be deceiving, so I put my tools of culinary extirpation in my hands and got to work. Every now and then, when I use words or phrases such as “culinary extirpation,” I get some joker on Social Media screaming about the grandiloquence of my diction. I'm not trying to sound pompous; it's just how the words flow sometimes. Returning to the job at hand, I plopped a forkful of the Lobster pasta in my mouth and was immediately wowed by the sauce. The Lobster was tender and cooked to perfection. But, it's the sauce that stole the show here. When reading it on the menu, I was apprehensive as I thought the White Cheddar cheese sauce might overpower the delicacy of the lobster meat. Usually, one sees a dish such as this with a milder cheese such as Provolone or Gruyere. This was not the case as the sauce perfectly complimented the exquisite Lobster meat. Kudos! Moving on to the Lemon Caper Grouper. The fish was fresh, tender, and cooked to flaky perfection, while the sauce was, again, spot on. This is your basic lemon caper butter seafood sauce; there is nothing special in that. It's the execution that sets this apart from other joints. Whoever was the Saucier back there deserves a raise! This sauce had my taste buds looking for a dance partner. This brings me to the second-to-last dish to be reviewed: the Blue Cheese Mussels. These are the same mid-grade New Zealand Mussels found in every joint in the country. This dish isn't about the mussels; it's all about the sauce. Consisting of blue cheese, white wine, shallots, and parsley, this sauce would win awards in any competition anywhere. Hands down. Amazing! Turning to the last item on my plate today, the New York Strip, listed on the menu for a paltry 29 clams, I just had to try it. While it was cooked properly, it tasted as expected. It was choice grade (if that) and not prime. With a higher grade of protein, this place could be Best of Brevard. The execution and sauces are outstanding. The Big Boy says, “Go ahead. Give 'em a try. You won't be disappointed.”“

“We have a wild two year old who makes eating out difficult. We heard this restaurant was kid friendly with a water area for littles to play so we decided to check it out while we were out in the area. We had a great experience! My son could have played there in the water all day if we let him. We sat outdoors in a shady area and watched him play as we ate our lunch. Win win! I got the chicken Philly (minus the mushrooms and marinara) and it was great! My husband got the buffalo chicken wrap and also enjoyed his. Both were much bigger than we had expected! We probably didn’t need to order sides (fries and onion rings) or could have shared one side between the two of us but that’s okay! We know for next time! My two littles got the kids chicken tenders and grilled cheese. I’m a big sweet tea girl but kind of picky. The tea was good! 🙌 Our server was also great and very friendly!“

“The Chef's Table Steakhouse, Suntree, 7720 N Wickham Road, Melbourne, FL- 5-Stars Top 5 Alert! We have a new entrant in the Big Boy's Top 5 Restaurants in Brevard, The Chef's Table, self-described on Yelp as a "Prime Steakhouse that specializes in Angus Brand Prime Beef, fresh seafood and local produce." Prior to visiting this Suntree establishment, I thought of David Dashi--executive chef and owner of Amici's Italian Restaurant next door--as just another local restauranteur along the lines of Brano's Italian Grill in Cocoa Beach, and Alfredo's Paradiso Kitchen in Merritt Island, both of whom talk a good game, but sell poorly-prepared, low-quality ingredients for exorbitant prices. That said, I was promised by a prominent food purveyor that unlike Dashi's other clip joints, food at The Chefs Table consists of only high-quality ingredients. They were not wrong. The fare here is top shelf and properly prepared. The Chef's Table also offers a panoply of quality craft potables. Having fallen off the wagon last month, I ordered a Rye Manhattan cocktail. The Manhattan is a tricky drink, as the overuse of bitters can throw it off. However, this cocktail was lovingly prepared by Brevard County's top waiter, David Denny, who was manning the bar that evening. I had requested this talented garçon as my server, but occupied as he was offering up laudable libations, our waiter for the evening ended up being Chad. What Chad lacked in charisma, he made up for in efficiency, knowledge, and exuberant attention to detail. The table started off with Fresh Burrata and Tuna Carpaccio, which produced an exquisite palate punch from the fried capers. Yes, you heard me correctly, fried capers. Absolute genius! For my entrees, I picked 12-ounce New York Strip, rare and the Pan-Seared Scallops served with Wild Mushroom Risotto. The bed of creamy risotto on which the scallops were layered was divine. The only weakness in this entire meal was the size of the scallops. For forty smackers, I want to see jumbo scallops. However, the preparation was on point with a crisp delicate crust. For sides, we ordered the Lobster Mac 'N' Cheese, Roasted Brussels Sprouts with Smoked Bacon, Fresh Creamed Spinach, and Oven-Roasted Beets with Goat Cheese. I am running out of space, so just let me say, "Bravo!" The Big Boy says, "If you are looking to have a special evening with a loved one--or can afford glorious dining every night--go to The Chef's Table in Suntree!"“
