“I’ve stopped into The Glass Knife several times and always enjoyed their coffee and pastries; everything is top notch in terms of quality and presentation. You can tell they take pride in what they serve.

That said, the service has felt a little snooty each time. Nothing outright rude, but I just don’t feel especially welcome when ordering. It’s a beautiful spot with delicious treats, but the vibe could be warmer. Still, four stars for the quality alone.”

The outstanding guest experience began when my sister made the reservation... Randi was exceptional he went above and beyond to make sure we had a spot even during a very busy promotion that they had going on... He also went the extra mile to make us feel extra special with the special cocktails... Our Server Andrew continued with the special service by welcoming us in and his suggestions for dinner were so delicious 😋... Andrew even added some extra touches with special sauce suggestions to add to our dining experience... Max was also extra attentive by taking our picture by the cutest spot under the tree and checking to ensure we had enough bread and tasty butters on hand... Been to many restaurants in Chicago but I must admit not one has gone the extra mile as did the manager and staff at Winter Park.... Bravo to you all!!”

The place was clean, staff welcomed us upon entry, and greeted me quickly at the counter. The cashier was super nice l. Explained all food provided on the menu. Ordered and the food came out in less than 10 minutes. Which gave me time to get my kids to drink, pick a table grab crayons 🖍 and kids color paper sit down for maybe 2 minutes and she came with our meals. The food was hot and fresh. The manager working there was absolutely sweet and respectful and said she loves working for the company, which made me happy to know they are happy working there which means the food will come out great too. My kids dislike chic fil a so I was worried when I walked into PDQ BUT it ITS WAY BETTER than Chick-fil-A Fil a. Also I should mention staff all communicated very well when orders were being taken prepared everyone was focused and worked together great as a team.”

“This is a belated review, but back in late November of 2022 I had a somewhat last minute request for a custom cake for my husband and his twin sister Sylvia’s 60th Birthday that was on December 4th. It was to be a surprise for them and I wanted it to be extra special. I reached out to Dan and expressed to him my ideas and he accommodated them perfectly and beautifully. The cake was covered with photos of them together through the years. I will never forget how truly special the cake was and what it meant to my husband Ed and his sister Sylvia. What I didn’t express at the time was that my sister-in-law had been recently diagnosed with metastatic cancer and I realized how extra special this Birthday would be. Sadly, we lost her shortly after her 61st Birthday on December 16, 2023. I just want to thank you whole heartedly for being kind and considerate, providing incredible customer service, and of course, for making a very special cake for a very special occasion. It was not cooked or marinated with the sauce. Our server said he would report, but we didn’t hear back. The bill was high, next time I’ll insist on return. That probably won’t be for a long time.”

Her response was 'so what it is public property' and then she said there is anyway not anyone sitting there while waving at the skateboarder to greet him with a smile. “My husband and I popped in for dinner after he arrived home from a family event. We wanted a date night after being away from one another for several days/nights. It was our first time. I sent him the menu as he boarded his plane and he was looking forward to a “new spot”. It did not disappoint. We were attended to from the time we sat down until after we tabbed out. We tried several dishes to get an idea of their style of cooking. The prosciutto melted in our mouths.. the ricotta was extremely creamy and bread from Breadsmith? DELISH. The Italian wedding soup was delicious, the pig n’ fig pizza was excellent (kudos on the dough and crust!), the spicy vodka rigate was on point! Not too spicy.. just that perfect amount of crushed red pepper in the sauce. The wine list was an extensive and our servers (we love to sit at the bar) was top notch! (Forgive me because I’m bad with names but I believe they were Alyssa and Jackie?) it is now on our list of must return spots. They were jamming for a Wednesday night. We initially sat at the rail bar but a couple waved in our direction to let us know they were leaving in a few minutes. If you’re looking for a quiet, romantic spot, it’s not quiet but it doesn’t echo, either. The details are beautiful, the artwork is pleasant to the eye and it was a perfect romantic date night spot for us. One of the better Italian spots in the area. Kudos and thank you for a great evening! Oh. P.S. the 12 month prosciutto with ricotta “primi” is definitely enough to share with 4 people. lol. So good!”
