“In a couple of words Cotton Calf was absolutely fantastic! My wife and I went on a date night. We had the calamari, signature cocktails, chopped salad, Delmonico ribeye, truffle fries, and the bread pudding for dessert. We got to sit at I guess, what would be considered a chef's table directly across from the kitchen facing the kitchen so that we could see the staff and all the food being prepared which was really interesting and entertaining. Everyone was extremely professional and courteous, the ambiance was on point for a date night and we were very well attended to without our server being overbearing. Everything that we had food-wise was perfectly cooked, seasoned and presented. The drinks were well poured and delivered above and beyond expectations. This was our second time going and we had the same experience the first time we went. The bread pudding was the best I have ever had in my life. My wife and I always order bread pudding when we see it on a menu and this was top notch. I'm not going to say that in this case you get what you pay for because we've been to other restaurants that we could eat at for about half the price, but in this case I wouldn't change anything and the high price tag didn't lessen my experience at all. We will definitely be going again.“

“It's our favorite place for special occasions. Today was our 45th anniversary. The food was awesome, as always. Cole slaw is so good. It has raisins, pumpkin seeds, and poppy seeds in it. Most of all, the service is good, no hovering but magically appears when you need something. Try the crabcake appetizer.“

“Food is consistently excellent. Service is hit or miss. This evening our server was not attentive and confused our order by not writing anything down. I think the shrimp was forgotten because it did not come out until 5-7 min after all other entrees (was not very busy at the time). I wish grilled options were available that were not huge/expensive portions. The vegetables are seriously delicious.“

My order: -10 pc - Hot Braised w/ Lemon Pepper Sprinkles (crispy) (party wings; not jumbo wings... Never jumbo wings). - fries (soft crinkle fries) or fried rice (depends on how I'm feeling) - lemonade (The lemonade is filled to the brim, chilled, without ice. Don't forget to grab it out the fridge before you leave and try your best to wait for your food. It's delicious!) -blue cheese (because it's obviously the best choice). You have to let it cool down for about 15 mins to achieve perfection. I lived 15 mins away, so by the time that I arrived they were done (no wait) and by the time I got home, they were perfect temperature. I have recommended this meal countless times, and I have never heard anyone was disappointed. Disclaimer: this is a to-go food type of joint. Treat it like a better version of American Deli. “O'shucks, overall, is a great restaurant. You cannot beat their BOGO Fish and Chips special on Monday evenings. The restaurant may have too many tables for its size, however, they adequately staff to speed up table service and have always had great quality of service. Sometimes it is difficult to find a close parking spot, but that's like many businesses located on Highway 78.“

I recommend giving them a try if your in the area. I'll try something different next time to see if I feel the same way. I never see anyone eating in when I go. “My husband and I came here on a whim, since we were in the area after attending a funeral. From the experience we had, we were very surprised to find the place kinda slow at 5pm on a Sunday. My husband had the jumbo shrimp plate (and they weren’t kidding about the jumbo part), and I had the catfish. I seldom get catfish, but, I’m about to make this my regular place for when I get a craving. The portions were fair for the price, and the taste of both dishes were immaculate. Especially the Mac and Collards. I also had their signature Mojito, and mojitos are always hit and miss for me. It was perfectly made! Sadly I was driving, and couldn’t partake in another. The owners and staff clearly care about experience, and blew our expectations out of the water. Highly recommend this establishment, and will be coming back to try their brunch menu.“
