“I came here last night for an 8pm dinner reservation to celebrate one of my friends' birthdays. We were a party of 10 and the restaurant was not super busy, save for a couple other tables. We took a couple minutes to decide on our orders, but our server was very patient and made no mistakes. I ordered the Pork Gyoza, Nabeyaki Udon, and the Matcha pound cake for dessert. Let me preface this by saying I've had better Japanese food in Atlanta, but that this place wasn't BAD. It was just "okay". The gyoza filling was tasty, but the wrap itself was quite dry. The udon was very warm and had a ton of noodles inside, but there was 1 singular shrimp tempura, two fish cakes, and maybe ten or so pieces of slightly overcooked chicken. Still a decent bowl of hot soup noodles. Finally, the matcha cake wasn't spectacular but I enjoyed the sweet treat at the end of my meal.“

“I haven't been to Smyrna in years, but decided to make this trip. The place was quite small but we still felt comfortable enough. The proximity to other tables actually generated some side conversation, which was nice. The food was really good. Definitely tasted fresh and homemade. They had live music (i.e., an artist singing) the entire night, which was a nice touch. Service could have been better. We had a reservation for 715pm and showed up at 720pm. They said that we missed our reservation for 7pm and didn't respond to their check-in text that was sent at 7pm. Well, I was driving to get there by 715pm....beyond that the server had a bit of an attitude, but got friendlier as we built rapport. Parking situation was okay but most of us parked across the street and on adjacent lots. A bit unnerving at first, but no issues. I'm definitely coming back....“

“We went for a diner with friends. The place is coined on the side of a strip mall. They have the ability to taste wine and even cook, or learn to, which is interesting. We took the crane cake and the steak frite. The crab cake was ok but too much bread in it. The steak frite was a revelation, the meat was tender and flavorful, very unique and we will be back for it. The bémol of this review is mostly the wine, good but the quantity provided for $12 are ridiculously small so you end up ordering more than 1 glass, was it on purpose? Anyway I suggest to avoid the wine as it spikes the bill significantly.“

“We started with the gouda fritters and the fried green tomatoes as appetizers. Needless to say, everything about these dishes were perfectly balanced. For the fritters, the red chili honey was the perfect touch with a whisper of a kick to the fritter but also not overbearingly sweet. The breading let the gouda do the work for flavor and was the perfect encapsulation for the cheese. For the green tomatoes, the breading was also the perfect crustiness for the tomato and paired beautifully with the red coulis. Aesthetically, these dishes appeared to be as thoughtfully put together as the ingredients were for the dish itself. A strong piece for me that was just as significant for the entire meal was the coffee. It has been well over 18 months, maybe 2 years since I've had coffee this robust without the bean being burnt for strength in the flavor. Lastly, for the main dishes, we tried the Egg benedict on brisket and egg white frittata. Since I didn't steal anything from my partner's plate for the benedict, I will say this is the place where you want to try your first egg benedict and no where else, based on the experience of the appetizers. The server did recommend a biscuit with it since there was no other bread on the plate and her recommendation was well placed but didn't take away from the dish flavors itself. For the frittata, the creativity for this dish was vibrant, fresh, wholesome, light, and bursting with flavor without it being over seasoned. The cheese on the dish was the perfect way to tie in with the spinach, tomato, panko sprinkling, and egg as well. Everything about this meal was to die for and securely placed me into foodie heaven as I could truly relish every bite I took and walked away the most satiated palette I've had in a very long time. 15/10 would make this an absolute must visit spot for brunch and this will be very hard to beat back home.“

“We've been neglecting Carbonara Trattoria because yelp had an Italian restaurant around the corner rated higher. For our first visit here, the plan was to walk in, sit at the bar, order a snack and something to go. First off, Trey, the bartender/server was great telling us what was on the menu. We ordered the fried oysters and they were very good. Trey also did a great job wine pairing and let us try a few other things. We decided to stay and order the carbonara salad and the cobia entree. At this point, for us to do an appetizer/salad/entree/desert, we have to split a few things and are quite comfortable sharing a plate, especially sitting next to each other in the bar. So, we said we wanted to split the salad. Much to our surprise, two little salads came out. Then we said we'd split the fish. Again, two small plates came out. This seemed above and beyond to me, but was very nice. We did order the "chocolate temptation" to go and ate it after we got home. The food was great, the ambience was nice, and we will definitely be going back!“

“This place was great! After an experience next door we crashed here and was NOT disappointed. We were greeted and reviewed the menu. Ordered the eggplant parmesan, meatballs, pizza and wine. We sat at the bar in front of the wood fire ovens. Got to watch our meals being prepared and had the most pleasant conversation with the pizza makers. The meatballs were FIRE! They were amazing, wonderful combo of meats and hand made…AMAZING. The pizza was also just the best pizza I have had in a long time. They finish with actual Italian olive oil which took the experience to another level. Then oh whoa almost forgot about their dessert. We ordered the pistachio cake and tiramisu. If you're looking to shop & have a refreshing drink to help relax things this is the way to go. Also, it's located in the mall as a center vendor on the side of Dillards. Aside from the rough start everything was okay definitely a nice atmosphere. Order: -meatball small plate—it was good well seasoned (nothing special) -Braised short rib with side of Potato's—Short rib was very good, potato's nothing special -Salmon with a side of asparagus—he said it wasn't anything special either. “Travelling around Georgia and Tennessee it can be difficult to feel confident in a restaurant as a celiac. When we came into Hopdoddy, we asked the staff at the till about their gluten free options. He was very knowledgeable, offered us a GF menu right away. We were excited to be told they have a separate fryer for their fries and GF buns. The cashier/server communicated with the kitchen staff that the order has a gluten alert and that helped with feeling so much more confident.
