“Quick poke stop on the way to/from hiking or snorkeling. They have plenty of choices to satisfy most of poke lovers. We enjoyed both spicy and sweet options as well as a variety of sides. The service is quick and friendly. They have a few covered tables if you prefer to eat there.”
“This is a great spot for a casual dinner and if you are lucky enough to get a spot outside to eat, you will have a great view of the ocean and sunset. Had the spicy pork tacos which were delicious, just wish a little spicier and the sauce it comes with on the side isn't a spicy sauce at all, reminded me more of a salad dressing so I wish I would've substituted it with a spicer version. But nonetheless the atmosphere and service was great and would definitely come back.”
“Love this place--great local flair, nice views, wonderful service, good food! Loved the Li Hing Mui-garita. We had the beet salad, and Da Hreek Pizza, and it was so good we ordered a pizza to go! Thos one with the kiawe Mango sauce-yum! We will be back. Best part-- not far from Kailua, Kona, and free parking. (It now costs $30 for two hours parking in Kailua.)”
“Tom is a stand up guy. Personable, and informative. I walked in with a Bostonian "Hey, ahh, what's the deal with this that and the other thing?" Kind of questioning and he gave me the answers I was looking for. Gave me a big fat bowl of pulled pork and rice to boot. It was worth every penny and I'll likely make it a regular stop. Good people, good food, no complaints.”
“Truly worth making a visit here... I love the group of women running the place and their service and kindness goes above and beyond. Will be coming back for more delicious food...aloha”
“Stopped in here based on the Google reviews. It did not disappoint! The poke nachos and fish tacos were delicious! The ambiance was very relaxed with chickens and roosters roaming around. I'd recommend it if you are in the area.”
“The cutest fruit stand with exotic fruit for cheap, friendly workers, and a nice seating area with a view. Saw this fruit stand on the side of the road as we were travelling back and forth from Captain Cook. Wanted to stop by and see what kind of fruit they had. We ended up picking up rambutan, papaya, apple banana, ugli fruit, and these cherries that were almost bell pepper-like. The cashier was super sweet and helpful as we browsed and shopped. Didnt get to try their fresh smoothies but I bet those were delicious too.”
“Automatic, staff welcomes you as family. The only hotel we will sleep at, especially in the …..sorry our family secret, when available, the meals are with a lot of love & Aloha…”
“Wow! After staying on the big island for 10 days, this little Mexican paradise was so good that we had to come back for round two on our last day. Great food. Great staff. Thank you Mannys!!!”
“This is my favorite Thai place in Captain Cook, my neighborhood, and is better than any in Kailua-Kona except Thai Rin. The vegatables are fresh and always crispy in every dish I've had. Prices are good. Photo shown is half of an order of Kee Mow rice noodle with vegetables. I was so hungry I forgot to take the picture:) For addinng shrimp at $2, I got 5 shrimps. I am always pleased with her (the owner's) cooking. My other favorite is Tom Kar soup. The coconut cream she uses is very rich and creamy. It is a take-out place wtih some tables outside in the courtyard of Kealakekua Ranch Center.”
“4 starts off you order the right thing, and 3 or 3.5 if you order randomly. I got the Hawaiian D and the meat with seaweed salad for the side and it was okay. The first time I got one with sauce, I think Shoyu & Sesame but it was too salty. Pricier than the supermarket but similar quality. Really nice folks working there, super friendly, and the place has a nice vibe.”
“Best Chinese Restaurant on entire Big Island! And I'm Chinese American from NYC! I don't do Buffet because it's not fresh, might cost less but full of MSG. I recommend ordering fresh cooked, directly from Kitchen. Specify your dietary peculiarities. For ex. I have Diabeties Melitus 2 thus I ask for less sugar, and no Monosodium Glutomate which causes me to feel ill. When you specify, and dining there, the staff and Proprietors appreciate generous amount of Tips! Thank you!”
“We have been buying Royal Kona for a few years now, so it was nice seeing their harvesting center from the Kona coffee fields. They have a small visitor’s center which includes some history of the Kona mountain slopes where coffee is grown, a gift shop with some free samples of the coffee varieties, and a lava tube that the kids can walk to.”
“Had my first pork lau lau here. I am not going to claim to be an expert on Hawaiian food or lau lau, but I am an expert on pork. It was absolutely delicious. Pig was tasty and juicy. Portion size was more than enough. I enjoyed my dining experience here 100%. Thank you very much for serving us!! My only advice/suggestion... scale down the menu and focus on your most popular, best sellers. Huge menu must mean big food costs for a tiny little place!”

“Best authentic hawaiian food! Everything was amazing from the pork Lau Lau, pork kalua and the desserts including sweet potato haupia pie, kulolo & choco haupia. Everyone was super nice and friendly and they even gave us free bananas. We drove almost 2 hrs away just to try this place and it was worth it. we even came back the next day.”
