“Customer service was on point unlike most McDonald's warm greeting from when you first enter til we were done... not too mention asking us like a real fancy place is it ok ,can we get you anything else... This Hilo McDonald's is the best one I've been too!!! Unlike the one's on Oahu where I'm from they don't have the customer service like this one up Volcano!!!“
“I'm going to give 4 because we've lived here 3+ yrs. and had never gone to a Subway here on the island. I love to cook and would just rather pick up the fresh sliced deli meat, baguette and fixins to make myself. The quality of meat/cheese obviously better that way. Given that note, I decided after a busy day to take the easy route and pick up the Thursday daily $3.99, 6" special for hubby and I which was the "Italian BMT". My first visit for this last month, enjoyed so much went again today since I was next door on a Thursday again. Although the meat/cheese not great quality the fresh flavored bread choices and all the fresh veggies totally make it a good sandwich! The 6" is perfect for us, pleasantly full and satisfied when I bring home to serve w/side of chips, fruit or pickles. Both times the sandwich makers were in-personable and stingy with the veggie choices but at least didn't " sigh" when asking for extra on couple things. They are very fast, both times in and out in under 5-7 mins. Really can't beat two tasty sandwiches for $9. Far less than Foodlands sandwiches and healthier than McDonald's. Not sure why though today my order was just over $9 when last month $8 something when same exact order.“
“Loco Moco was like a thin hamburger steak spread under omelet rice (because it was scrambled).Steak plate is a good food for children to eat.Comes with 2 steaks (smoky flavor) + rice + potato salad, no sauce on the meat.There is no dining area, but there are tables and chairs outside where you can eat even if it rains.“

“We don't use the delivery service but usually call it in and my fiance picks up the pizzas in her way home from work and conveniently its right on her was. We've never had issues with this Pizza Hut. Quick, fresh, reasonably priced, friendly staff, and just wish to thank them all because sometimes I'm certain they feel like it's a thankless job. To us we appreciate you all. On those long crummy days we all have from time to time, this Pizza Hut makes our day just a little brighter and our nights even better. And, super extra bonus, when we pau eat, no dishes. Thanks once again! Aloha?“
“I just happen to be walking down the street and I walked into this tiny little restaurant, I ordered a fried egg patty with rice also macaroni salad and some round little fried thing, sorry I don't know what it's called It was, very surprised how good it was... after I ate it I couldn't wait to go back but because I found it on my walk I couldn't find it again on my trip to Hilo, now I have flown back to the mainland but I'm craving going to this restaurant where I live we don't have anything like it or else I would try to go find something similar, place itself is kind of ugly on a street where it's rare that they even put names up of businesses I didn't know this place was even open as all businesses on the street look to be dark and closed which is really strange but I'm glad I happen to walk in and make a purchase because I'll never forget how good this restaurant is.“
“I wanted to see what all of the hype was about Korean corn dogs. Korean corn dogs have a batter that is made of rice flour and fried in hot oil, so they are very crispy on the outside and chewy on the inside, like fried mochi. Some of them have little cubes of potato mixed into the batter so they are like crispy French fries on the outside.I was very excited to find out that "Corn Dogs by Mr. Cow" in Hilo has Korean corn dogs and wanted to try them while I have the opportunity. They were terrific! Very tasty! Not healthy, but definitely fun to experience Korean street food.You can get a sausage on the inside or mozzarella or cheddar cheese, or you can get half sausage, half cheese.We got one Mr. Cow Classic outside with half sausage, half cheddar inside, one Fried Potato outside with half sausage, half mozzarella inside, and one Flaming Potato with flaming Cheeto crumbs on the outside. We also got the cheese balls. Piggies! Highly recommend for a yummy Korean street food experience!“
“I really like this restaurant and if I go to Hilo again I will definitely go here, I ordered the Moco Loco's one with the pork patty and then the other with bacon, They can put the egg on top either scrambled or sunny side up, The dish also comes with a side salad, They offer two different sizes I ordered the small which is plenty of food/ the location is in the heart of Hilo, It's a very old building it's an old place, They offer a lot of different traditional Hawaiian common foods and that is the reason why I really like this place, The service was really excellent All the young girls that work there are knowledgeable and very helpful ~ which is extremely difficult to find.“
“We found this little spot for breakfast while exploring our first morning in town. We met Patty who owns it with her family. We loved the scriptures posted on the walls, the take out boxes and window. We had a delightful conversation with her while we waited on our food. This is a window where you order and pick up food. There is a bench outside but no other seating.“
“We came for a quick snack and left with 2 huge meals and happy bellies! The sundae that comes with the Martian Meal is the perfect size and packed full of flavor and quality. The fries are crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. The food really hit the spot!“
“As of 02/23/24 "no refills on drinks", this is something that I usually factor into the price. They were friendly about it but I didn't see it in advance. They just have a note that the machines are down, nothing saying they can't refill them behind the registers like restaurants typically do when self refills are not available.“

“Driving here through a flash flood warning was worth it. This was the best Pizza Hut I’ve ever visited across the US and Canada. Service was great and the pizza was piping hot with the perfect mix of sauce and toppings. This should be the standard for all Pizza Hut locations.“

“Interesting bc we had food from Panda Express in Jersey 15 years ago and the food sucked. However; this on in Hilo was excellent. So, this time - i was starving and went in and was very pleasantly surprised - the food was delicious (bit oily but wth i was starving) - portions were excellent and the staff were extremely professional and friendly. “Good pizza … for traveller like us, just arrived in Hilo by fly, we want eat something in hotel because we were tired. Good pizza, good sauce one pizza without cheese and both were overall good. The order by website was very easy and the the delivery girl was kind. The delivery was perfect in time as indicated in the delivery app.“
“Me and my friend were driving to the Taco bellʻs line, their line is very long but is very worth it. Me and my friend love eating there a lot, and especially enjoy the nacho bell grande and crunchy tacos. Although many things keep getting canceled on top of the menu, or getting taken off of it very disappointing to see and more of the items are getting more expensive, but like I said it's WORTH IT!! The staff members are nice, sometimes they don't really show attention in talking to ppl or even write down the correct orders. Much patience for them and hope it won't happen again.“
“Ok this is the first time we are trying Zippy's despite the low reviews. We saw them on Oahu but never went. Then after research this is the place for chili and rice?! Must try! So happy there was one in Hilo when we were heading back from the Volcanoes. It was Easter Sunday and no one was inside except for 2 tables. No frills dated diner decor but our server was awesome. She was so nice and friendly we loved her. We ordered chicken katsu, bacon cheeseburger, side of chili, katsu chicken/korean chicken/fried chicken plate and lilikoi drinks. Maybe we were just really hungry but the food was bomb! We killed it and enjoyed it so much we ordered an extra mini plate of the katsu chicken and korean chicken to take back with us for later. There is also a bakery case around the corner and the to go fast food side. The sweet cashier told me they don't carry all the items as the sit down side does. However, what they do have is a little cheaper. Anyhow, love Zippy's and would definitely come back again! True Hawaii Diner.“
“Update: Since this review, I have been back several times, very consistent sandwiches, app has improved and the same guys that have been there for years are worth tipping. I rarely go to restaurants or fast food, but these guys are sandwich artists. I recently went to keaau subway since they had a BOGO online deal. Imade a huge mistake. The workers there made a terrible sandwich. It was stale bread, wrong bread, little veggies, no sauce (next to none). I have been spoiled by the Pahoa subway.Best Subways around. Hawaii subways take care of every request. Mainland subways are slow, stale and bland. I understand that is a low morale job, but at least fake it. They do tend to run out of white chocolate mac nut cookies and NEVER refill them or make more. At least they don't run out of certain breads and sandwich types.“
