“I've tried this place several times and finally got a chance to write a review. I've always ordered the 2-choice(combination) Teishoku and tried different kinds of items. After every visit, I must say, everything was good! The quality and presentation is top notch. This time, I ordered the Chicken Teriyaki and Mini Chirashi combination. The chicken was excellent. It was soft, and the teriyaki sauce was very flavorful, not overwhelming. The mini Chirashi (which was an extra charge of $4) came with ahi, salmon, shrimp, tako, and ika. Everything was fresh and tasty, especially when slightly dipped in wasabi/shoyu sauce. Tan ordered the combination salmon and spicy ahi. I had a piece of salmon, and it was cooked to perfection. The Spicy Ahi(another extra charge of $3) was also flavorful. It was more on the creamy side than on a chunky side. Both combinations were served with miso soup and a bowl of greens. Hot tea was also included. The only downside of all my visits was that they always ran out of Ahi Tempura. We came in 15 minutes after opening at 5:15 pm, and it was sold out 5 minutes prior. Hot item!! I would have given them a 4 star, but the food quality and customer service were superior. It made up for that star. It was so good we made a salmon takeout order for tomorrows lunch.“

“Let me just start by saying, nothing but good things to say about Paradise Poke!!! Our first time visiting we ordered the 2 choice poke bowl. I had the spicy Hawaiian poke and the Shoyu poke. Both were great!!! If you love spicy, you will love the spicy Hawaiian. On my second visit I tried the ginger scallion poke and I have to say that is my new favorite!! The flavors are just so good in the ginger scallion poke!!! Definitely a must try! Bowls are on par with prices you may find elsewhere, the rice was good, poke serving generous and also comes with a side! Fish was also fresh!!!“

“You must have reservations for dinner. This place is very crowded and the seating is a little cramped. But the service and steaks were great. My steak was a little over cooked but very tasty. I also added some sautéed mushrooms which went well with the steak. They also have a very good selection of wine and spirits. Parking on the top level was also challenging on Friday night. I did not try the underground parking area.Parking: The restroom is shared with Lilia bakery.“

“My husband and I visited this location recently and everything was absolutely perfect. Especially our bartender (Lae). Lae was on point with all of our needs. We sat at the bar and had amazing meal. ohmygosh! The best I've had in Honolulu so far and I moved here 6 months ago. lol... “Absolute best poke I’ve had on the island - went in and asked them to make their best poke salad and they did not disappoint. My husband got the shaved ice and said it was super delicious and a generous amount of it. Highly recommend and will definitely come back! We even were able to sit outside at the picnic table. “I used it for my last dinner in Hawaii during my honeymoon from July 28th to August 3rd last year. When I entered the store, I was greeted with a smile, and when I sat down at the desk, the staff spread flowers on the desk, which made me very happy. Also, while we were eating, a senior person in a suit was on his honeymoon. ], the staff responded with a smile, and the staff said in Japanese, "Are you full?" (^^)] I was able to talk to her in a friendly manner, and it became a very good memory. It was my first time abroad, so I was really glad I came. It was a rare sight to see the final dessert set on fire, so I was really happy (;_;) I definitely want to go again, so thank you!“

“I’ll start by saying I have not had the gold standard of Maine lobster rolls. But I grew up in the PNW eating fresh shell fish of all kinds.This buttered lobster roll was delicious. It had a heaping amount of juicy lobster. The bun was toasted and held up well against the amount of butter. Wasn’t soggy. (I’d eat it right away though… might not be fabulous for take out.)You order at the inside window and then pick up and eat at the picnic tables on the patio. You can see it when you first turn into ward center. Right next to Rodger Dunn golf store. Food came out in less than 10 minutes.The staff was happy and friendly. After I finished eating, one of the girls asked how everything was and was genuinely happy to see that we enjoyed it.Worth the $20 for the roll. “Amazing experience! The food and the service was on point!To drink I had the pink Cadillac which tastes great! We started with a wedge salad, crab cakes, shrimp cocktail and the fried rice. Our entrees were the lobster pan roast, prime rib petite filet with taro dinner rolls. We ended the meal with the taro bread pudding and ice cream which paired well together. So I highly recommend getting the 2. All in all 5 ⭐️ meal!“

I usually prefer ahi when getting any poke but wanted to try the king salmon and it's 1.50 extra but so worth It! They have many toppings that are included but some that are extra such as the crab salad & seaweed salad (which I got). They had uni but opted out this time because I wanted to appreciate the poke more but maybe next time! They say it's flown from Japan But all in all 10/10 Run don't walk!“

“I was looking for "good cake noodle place" for Aunty's BD family party (food theme was Chinese) and on the Yelp, I typed "best cake noodle", then this place hit! Located at the Chinatown Cultural Plaza face to River St. This place is very cozy restaurant but the lady is very friendly and nice. We felt we were very welcomed. We did phone order, ~2 House Special Cake Noodles (gravy on side), 1 Sauted Garlic Ong Choy, and 1 Sauted Choy Dum- and we were told in 15-20minutes to ready. (The party size was small) House Special Cake Noodle has Choy Sum, Shrimp, fish cake, and sliced meat in a gravy, the noodles are fresh fried and after poor the gravy, the texture became soft and tasty. Sauted Garlic Ong Choy and Sauted Choy Sum were both good!!! I love this place and would like to try different menu next time! Anyway, we parked at the Chinatown Cultual Plaza parking, no validation but still cheeper than other parking. (In 30min is free 31min to 1 Hour is $1, after that $1 each additional per hour. If you just order for to go, I recommend to avoid exactly lunch time, it was easy to find the parking spot.“

“I gave 5 stars for the atmosphere because it's fun to watch all the workers in action. There is almost always a line out the door, but it moves fast and most definitely worth it. I get the spicy ahi tempura poke bowl usually, although this time I got the new seared ahi on greens and it was delicious! I had to get a seafood veggie tempura on the side. “I had reservations at a bar across the street and I was looking for dinner places when I found this- I love indian food and there aren't a ton of options on island but I thought why not? Let me give it a try. Let me tell you I am so happy I did. We were seated immediately (we went at 7:00 PM on a Wednesday) and while we there it started getting busy. Everyone was incredibly friendly and I felt taken care of the whole time. I asked for a popular lamb dish and the waitress suggested the lamb tikka masala. I love spice (like I want to almost cry) and flavor packed dishes so I made sure to order it on the highest spice level. But guess what? It still wasn't spicy enough for me! So when I told the waitress she immediately went to the back to get some sauce to give me an extra kick? I loved that she did that because whatever she gave me was incredibly spicy and I LOVED IT. My friends tried it and they indeed wanted to cry, but not tears of joy like me. The dish was so good, tons of flavor, juicy, hot (temp wise too). The naan was delicious too omg. This review is making me want to go back. Since we went on a weekday at night, plenty street parking available. There isn't much open downtown so the fact that this is?! & it's delicious?! Yeah, I'm going again. Maybe today.“

“Always a creative menu accompanied by attentive service. We sat outside on what turned out to be a windy Friday night. More annoying was the Mariachi band playing loudly at the taco place across the street (drowned out the pleasant music at Merriman's). We'll eat inside next time. My wife's Makai special (Kauai lobster) was superb. My peppercorn steak frite was almost impossible to cut. Sharper knives are needed! Be sure to have the anchovies with the Ceasar salad--a great experience.“

“Probably the best poke in terms of the fish itself. It's not as flavorful as one of the other poke places I visited, but this place definitely has a freshest and tastiest fish in Hawaii for poke. I saw the reviews on yelp were amazing for this place and I wasn't sure about visiting because it looked super rundown. But I'm super glad I came to visit. The fish were super good and It's prepared quickly for you. This is definitely a hole in the wall type of spot. I would definitely not have found it just drop by and I honestly am not sure if I would've visit after just seeing how it looks on the outside. “I'm not much of a food connoisseur, and I've eaten at a lot of Michelen star restaurants because of the company I keep. I've always thought that the hype around most of these places were a marketing gimmick. I also couldn't sat seafood before I had covid.I didnt have high expectations for this place when I arrived, but I definitely was impressed. I thought everything was super delicious- from the main dishes to the sides. For the first time in my life I could taste the artwork and craftsmanship that went into the flavor combinations, and I'm impressed. I ordered the Umi tasting menu with wine pairing.I dont review restaurants much but I felt this one was worth reviewing. I definitely think it's worth a try, and then maybe you can tell me whether or not my pallet is unusual or if it genuinely is as good as I think.“

“I ate at Maguro Bros Waikiki 5 nights in a row and also go to enjoy the Chinatown location for lunch one day. The nice difference with the Chinatown location is that it offered some cooked dishes which I really enjoyed. The grilled ahi belly and miso salmon were both excellent and my family thought the same also.The guys at Maguro Brothers put in long days to get the best fish and provide friendly service. Far and away, this was the best place for me and my family to eat in Honolulu!“

“I am a firm believer that some of the best food you can get in Hawaii comes from small, local food trucks like Flyin' Ahi. I finally got the chance to try them after wanting to go for years. Usually I wouldn't be able to because of work but I took advantage of the Veteran's Day holiday to make my way over. Located in Mililani Tech Park next to other food trucks.The baked crab stuffed Ono with truffle sauce caught my eye. But I also wanted to try their signature kalbi fries, plus spicy ahi poke... Luckily the kind owner was able to combine all that into one fat plate. Everything was amazing! The truffle cream sauce is to die for. The fries were fried up perfectly crispy with a generous portion of kalbi on top. And the spicy ahi was great too, I liked how it wasn't the usual mayo-based sauce.Service was super quick and friendly. The owner was generous enough to add some spicy ahi into the blackened ahi salad we got too. I'll definitely come back to this spot when I have another day off and want to treat myself.“

“Service is always on point! Staff are very polite and on it! Our favorites are the Kalbi, Primerib, grilled shrimp, oxtail, spaghetti, chicken katsu, fried chicken. This last visit I did the mix plate with prime rib, fried chicken & fried fish. The fish was very very thin (all batter) overcooked dry and hard (photo attached). The hamburger steak didn't seem like it was homemade, it looked tasted frozen patty. However, the gravy was good.“

“My family and I had a wonderful dinner at Tanaka of Tokyo West! This was actually our first teppanyaki experience, and it did not disappoint. The food choices were excellent and reasonably priced considering the amount and quality you receive. Our chef, Chef Kaki, also did an amazing job accommodating our 22 month old daughter as she was a little scared of the flames, utensils show, etc. He made sure to pare down the experience for her age, while still ensuring my husband and I were engaged. “This is review is long over due. Dell's Kitchen is one my goto spots for an affordable plate local/japanese food. I've tried their Kawagoe Karaage, Kurobuta Pork Katsu, and Nori Chicken. The Karaage is my favorite and the most affordable as well. It comes with a sweet mustard dipping sauce, a coleslaw type salad, rice, and some other veggies. The portions are generous. And they have a dining area inside with complimentary water. They also have a sister restaurant next door that serves pasta dishes. Highly recommend this restaurant if in the mood for some good tasting and affordable local Japanese food.“

“I found most of the food in Waikiki area of Honolulu to not be very impressive, but the Halekulani Bakery had such delicious artisan pastries that I made it my regular breakfast spot during my Hawaiian vacation.  The tea and scones here were okay, but the croissants and danishes are a must try! “The food we had was okay. I had the ahi fish with brown rice and green salad which was pretty good. My husband however, had whole crispy fish that tasted like canned tuna. It did not taste fresh. The macaroni and rice were okay. We didn't like eating out of cardboard to-go boxes. We would be willing to give them another try, but we would choose something different. We also had salmon poke from the nextdoor market that was pretty good. There was a nice view of the bay.Parking: We came at 3:45 pm, so there was plenty of parking.“

The spicy tuna and tuna was decent but the shrimp and salmon were quite subpar on the day we went. Some ingredients were fresh and others weren’t all that fresh.I’d honestly rate it a 3.5 objectively, esp. if it was more expensive.But since it’s decently priced for this area I will give it a 4.25 and round way up.There may be better options but they aren’t as convenient. Also the portion is pretty decent.Tl:Dr - it’s nothing to look forward to or even memorable, but it will fill your belly at a moderate price and decent size if you’re feeling poke.“

The quality of the fish is very fresh and the beef was braised to perfection. The shoyu sauce for my ahi was a smidge to salty, I dont recommend dumping the tub of poke over your rice.“

The Shrimpburger has always been one of my favorites, but it would appear the new ownership overlooked the need for shrimp in the sandwich, as they were not there. I really enjoyed my dish! Hubby thought the steak tasted good. We were given a complimentary dessert which I thought was sweet and it was just enough to satisfy my sweet tooth. Ambiance was okay. We were sat by the window but on the side facing the parking lot. Would have been nice to have a better view and I did mention that it was our anniversary when I made the reservation but did not make a fuss when the hostess sat us. Plenty of parking. “I'm a big fan of Uncle Bo's, so when I heard he opened up a place in Waikīkī, I had to stop by. TPH is on Lewers, just North of Kalākaua. We already had dinner, so we opted for dessert. The taro beignets a la mode hit the spot. They were light & airy, crispy and paired well w/ the Frangelico honey sauce and ice cream. Regarding the ambiance, its tiki bar in here. TPH has a lot of bar food (pupus), that I will have to return for. Our waiter Zach was super nice, and the beignets came out quickly. I think Uncle Bo's has three other places besides TPH. Hats off to him for being a successful restauranteur in a tough market.“
