“I drive a bus and I stop in here once in a while to use the rest room and grab a snack. About a year ago, I had lunch there and WOW! I didn't expect such great food because I expected your typical truck stop type fare, but no! I stop in there every couple months when my mouth is bored and needs some wakin' up!!! The Cowboy Quesadilla is my favorite and I'm not even a cowboy!“
“Hickory Park is beyond just an eatery, it is almost an attraction by itself in Ames. We loved their special blend of rustic charm and welcoming warmth. The service was casual but great. In the realm of the BBQ flavors, it may not be my number one. However, with their very resonable pricing, feel, and ambience, you might as well do yourself a favor and give them a shot when you're in this part of the town.“
“Came here to celebrate our 30th anniversary. I'm in a wheelchair and the parking, restrooms , tables were very good. Food and service were both top notch. My wife's steak was a bit overdone and they gave her a big discount.Wheelchair accessibility: Excellent all around. Parking, doors, restrooms, tables.“
“We ordered food in bulk to share with our family as our sister is currently battling leukemia at Mary Greeley Hospital. We are into month 2 and she is still there. The food brought us closer as a family and we were able to share Dec. 23rd together to celebrate Christmas and surround her with love. She ate a bunch of food as she had not been eating much! I can not thank you enough for helping us have time to be a family and not worry about cooking! ♡“
“Ordered the brisket, pineapple coleslaw and corn. Brisket had a little more fat than expected but was tender and flavorful. Corn was delicious. When traveling, it's our goal to try local establishments instead of chain restaurants. We were not disappointed in our choice of eating at Cornbred.“
