“have been going to Jesse's Ember's for 40+ years. Tonight, showed up at 7:30 PM ordered traditional ribs, which were moist and very tasty at the late hour. We eat out a lot in Des Moines, and these are definitely the best ribs in Des Moines.“
“It's great food low key, and it feels like I stepped back in time. The price is right if your looking for a delicious steak.Vegetarian options: They have a full salad bar. Potato and vegetable options. I won't call it vegan friendly, but definitely vegetarian safe.Parking: Large lot sometimes fills completely.“
“Absolute gem! And local stable, for many years this restaurant has delivered delicious meals and sides. I've eaten in and ordered prime rib for Christmas. Either way never a bad choice. Only negative is that it gets very busy with long wait times.“
“I was very impressed!!! I really enjoyed the privacy curtains. The food was very good cooked perfectly! the service was perfect as well very polite and checked in frequently to be sure everything was good and we had everything we needed. I will be back and recommend to all my friends! If I had 1 complaint I guess I'd say the prices but in reality you get what you pay for all around here. It's worth it to me! I do not recommend this as a restaurant for kids. ☆☆☆☆☆“
“A Stellar Steakhouse Experience at Big Steer: Unforgettable Flavors and Outstanding Service! My recent visit to Big Steer Steak House was nothing short of exceptional! From the moment we stepped through the doors, we were greeted with warmth and hospitality. Our waiter, Cole, deserves special recognition for his impeccable service throughout the evening. He was attentive, knowledgeable, and went above and beyond to ensure our dining experience was unforgettable. Now, onto the star of the show – the steak! I can confidently say that the steak I had at Big Steer was one of the best I've ever tasted. Cooked to perfection with a juicy, tender texture and packed with incredible flavor, each bite was a true delight. The seasoning was spot on, enhancing the natural flavors of the meat without overpowering it. Additionally, the steak was cooked precisely to the temperature I requested, showcasing the chef's mastery in the kitchen. The atmosphere of the restaurant was another highlight of our visit. With its cool ambiance and inviting décor, Big Steer provided the perfect setting for a memorable dining experience. In conclusion, if you're looking for top-notch steaks paired with excellent service in a welcoming atmosphere, look no further than Big Steer Steak House. “Went here to eat w/ my girlfriends and had a fun time. :)We devoured the bread, they were so soft and fluffy. My 8 oz sirloin steak was okay - I realize that restaurants like this never really cook it the way you want, so why ask? I asked for medium rare, came out well done. Oh well. Still enjoyed my time. We will definitely come back to get the drinks they have! :)Server was very friendly and attentive, didn’t catch his name but everyone was very nice!“
“We went for my son's birthday and I decided to use the app for the first time. I did it wrong but they seated us within a few minutes of arriving. The waitress was efficient and did a great job. The ribeye was fantastic. I always love the bloomin onion. They gave my son a big piece of chocolate cake for his birthday. We had a great time.“
“If you're looking for a reasonably priced meal for your family this is the spot. Friendly staff, excellent specials. The egg rolls are a must. The pizza is served with generous toppings and great crust. This unassuming family owned business really something delightful.Vegetarian options: Small salad bar. Lots of great salads ?. Plenty of veggie toppings for their pizzas.Parking: The parking is a shared lot with a strip mall and grocery store. Always spaces.Kid-friendliness: It's a family restaurant. They have boosters and high chairs. Sturdy chairs and tables. No high tops.“
“First off, I want to say our server Joe was the highlight of our day. He was a phenomenal server. He was on top of our drinks the whole time. He was consistent with checking in on us. He was an outgoing person and seemed to actually enjoy his work and made us happy the entire experience.“
“Went to the bar Friday around 7, it was mostly full but the restaurant seating was mostly empty. Ordered an old fashioned and filet de burgo. We asked for bread a few times but it took about 20 minutes to arrive. Then we got bread brought again, which seems to really confuse the table runner. Found out later they can smoke the old fashioned but I didn't know. Next time. Steak was cooked to my liking but the pile of raw carrots was not needed as filler. Try asparagus instead to round out the meal, I mean it's already $45 so make it worth it. Had a small Ceaser with it and the dressing was great. Also came in a mini Parmesan crust bowl.“
“Went to 801 Chophouse on our Anniversary. Our tables was full of hearts, reserved and ready as we arrived early. Everything we ordered was the perfect temperature and the flavor was was worth every penny though we didn't find it overly expensive at all. A definite must try.Parking: It was Sunday so so free stree parking.“
