“Good food and drink spot in Kalona! In the words of my friend: "There's a few restaurants and the brewery... the brewery is good." Upon arrival, we saw the place was nearly empty and requested a table a bit of distance away from others as one of our group members is immunosupressant. The younger hostess got frustrated with us quickly and almost made us want to leave. SERVICE: 5/5 We opted for a spot at the bar - since it was basically empty - and this saved our experience. The bartender (and our server) was extremely kind and fun, as well as the other woman working that evening. We loved connecting and chatting with them! DRINKS: 5/5 I got a root beer on tap, and the rest of our group got flights. They loved their beers - some cool nitro, IPAs, barrel aged, coffee stout, and more. Honestly really impressive options for Kalona! One of the servers even showed us her favorite - mixing the cider with their sour. FOOD: 4/5 For food, our crew enjoyed the pork tenderloin sandwich and black and bleu burger. Unfortunately, the stir fry rice was too mushy and overdone. AMBIANCE: 4/5 Cozy vibes, but the seating arrangements are a bit funny - there's a large space on one side with no seating, and you can't eat at the sofas.“
“A friend has been trying to get us to check out the Riverside location for months now. They just opened a second location in West Liberty and it was completely worth it! Food was fantastic and great service. West Liberty is known for its Mexican food and this place is a great addition!“
