“I'm italian, but not a snob about it. Their food has always been good. Our server was friendly and attentive but not overly attentive (I fund overly attentive annoying). The only complaint is the place can do with a make-over, I think the interior is still the same as it was when the place opened. Don't get me wrong, it still appears to be clean“
“Mario C is THE BEST waiter! Gave great suggestions that were spot on for Prosecco...2 different bottles and each was a perfect companion to our lunches. Also, good beer selection and cocktail. We had artichoke and sunchoke and meatball for shared appetizers, followed by each of us with a different pasta: caico buccatini, bolognese, gnocchi and spaghetti and one stuffed cabbage...all delicious! For dessert...chocolate sorbet, coconut cookie, almond Gelato and expresso martini.A delightful afternoon...not rushed...great food and beverages!Ask to be seated in Mario C's station!“
“This was the most flavorful meal I have had in years! We asked for house picks and shared amongst 3 of us. AMAZING. Service exceptional. The staff all helped each other with smiles- so nice to see. Chef Joe Flamm was present, pleasant and engaged with staff and customers. Treat yourself to something special.“
“This is my third visit to this upscale Italian restaurant in downtown. I love their service as the staffs notes down all our requests and suggest the best for us. The menu is vegetarian friendly or you can request to customise. The star dish was their ricotta dumplings. It’s a 10/10 for me. Every item that we ordered was delicious. We got a complimentary birthday cake as we’re celebrating a friend’s birthday. I would highly recommend this place in downtown for a good Italian dinner.Vegetarian options: Pastas, bread, potatoes, aranciniDietary restrictions: They are open to customisation of the dish according to your dietary preferencesParking: Parking is difficult to find as it’s in downtown but paid street parking is available.“
“What an amazing experience!Great ambience even though we didn’t get a table in the main dining area.. the nook that we got was cozy and warm. We ordered spicy vodka rigatoni and ricotta gnocchi. The vodka sauce was so flavorful that we wanted to lick the plate and the gnocchi was so heavenly soft that it melted in our mouths! We ended with cannoncini for dessert, which had a delicious cream filling and a crispy outside, with a top notch hot fudge. Overall, it was a fantastic experience and we would go there again as soon as we can!“
“Start by saying this place was SO GOOD! Our table had 3 different pasta dishes where each dish was perfect in their own way, perfectly pillowy gnocchi and al dente pasta with nice chew. The table favorite was the spaghetti with caviar. The fried calamari was also well cooked, not rubbery at all. The space was busy but not too loud and the service was attentive but not overbearing. Will definitely try to convince people to check this place out.“
“I've been to Peanut Park twice! It was amazing both times. The staff is friendly and the food is delicious. We had the focaccia (the ricotta reminds me of my trip to Italy *yum*), chicken parm, scallops, and more. My fave thing at Peanut Park is the tiramisu. The best!! We can't wait to go back.“
“Absolutely divine. A must when in west loop. The food is carefully and expertly crafted- Shout out to Chef Cristiano.Their wine selection is far beyond any selection I've seen just about anywhere else in the same area. So many yummy and authentic options.Service was top notch Ms Luana was an absolute pleasure. She is so kind and personable and really made us feel like family. Will absolutely be back to try another round of Chefs specials!“
“This place was such a good experience. I took my parents there because I've heard that the steak here is delicious, turns out everything here is delicious. We ordered some drinks, the prices were very reasonable, the quality and taste of the food was amazing, NOT TO MENTION THE SERVICE, JUT TOP NOTCH. I'm not sure if management read these, but Julie, our server, was lovely. The vibes are classy but chill, and its right by the river walk which is a plus.“
“We grabbed a spot at the bar for a drink, stayed for dinner and I’m so glad we did! Tammy was our wonderful bartender, the service was amazing, and the food was incredible! Caprese salad was HUGE, for our entrees we ordered the rigatoni danielo (delicious) and cavatelli bolognese (even more delicious), portions were big without sacrificing quality. We had the tiramisu and it did not disappoint, neither did the wine list or limoncello. Will definitely be coming back, totally recommend this place for a casual dinner or a fancy date night!“
“What a cute little gem in this city. The atmosphere was cozy but lively. I loved the lighting and musical soundtrack. We had a reservation and were seated immediately. Both the host and waitress were pleasant and provided just the right amount of check-ins. Now on to the food. Everything we ate was delicious. From the fresh bread that they poured melted garlic butter onto table side to the yummy brussel sprouts. The pasta was cooked to a perfect al dente with very flavorful sauces. I'm sad that I was only able to eat there once as I only had. 4 day trip in Chicago, but I will definitely return.“
“I love this place! The chicken Marsala is incredible! We also had eggplant roll acting as an appetizer, linguine with clams, gnocchi and manicotti! All great and we all have dinner for tomorrow! Service is great and always like talking to the owner, who makes you feel like you are his personal guests! Only suggestion for improvement is to assign the waitstaff to one area! This happened last time too. The servers are running all over! Be a little kinder to them. They work so hard!“
“Cute restaurant for dinner. The pasta I had was cooked perfectly, and was actually good. The spritz I tried was also pretty nice, well balanced. Service was alright, food took a while to arrive. It was also hard to flag down our waiter. Overall we still enjoyed our meal.“
“I've come here twice with a few people and each time we had a pleasant experience. I got an old fashion that was prepared nicely and was tasty. We've gotten the flatbread pizzas every time, and they are a great value for the amount of flavor. If you're looking for a nice restaurant with good views and food, this is a good option.“
“Excellent restaurant with wonderful food! We also had a great server. We are diners and like to take our time enjoying our wine and each course. Her timing allowed us to do just that. It's also not too terribly far from the United Center, which makes it convenient if you're planning to attend an event.“
“Highly recommend this quaint little place tucked away from the main thoroughfares. Attention to detail was amazing, great service and last but not least awesome food! Great selection! We had garlic bread (plain and cheesy), Spaghetti Bolognese, Pollo par parmigiana, and ItalianSub.“
“I went to Olio e Più for my first time last night and I really enjoyed it! To start, I really liked the vibe - my boyfriend and I went around 630pm so given the sun was going down, it felt really relaxed and cozy. For my drink, I ordered the White Plains - super refreshing and tasty. My boyfriend got the Old Fashioned which he said was one of the best he's had in Chicago (and he always orders an Old Fashioned). To eat, I ordered the Gnocchi Pesto e Pistacchio and boy, was it good. I will say, our service was some of the best we've had in a long time as well. We had a really nice experience and meal and can't wait to come back again! Thank you to the Olio e Più team for a wonderful Friday date night!“
“We’ve been to Marco’s a few times and have enjoyed our experiences. There is always a wide variety of thoughtfully prepared options to choose from in all categories, land and sea appetizers, entrees, several salads and desserts. Last night we had the bacon wrapped scallops appetizer which was delicious, the mahi mahi and shrimp with a delicious coconut based sauce. The strip steak was cooked perfectly and came with some lovely crisp veggies; unfortunately the steak was tough and almost stringy. The server asked if there was anything else I’d like which felt like the right thing to do. The servers are efficient but generally not warm and fuzzy. And the environment is very loud. Anyone with hearing issues wouldn’t be able to hear anyone else at their table without that person raising their voice considerably.“
“Everyone back East said I had to try this pizza. I am not really a pizza fanatic, but holy smokes, this is really really good pizza. I had the personal pepperoni with extra cheese and fresh garlic. It was amazing. They delivered to my hotel (Palmer House), and the delivery was fast for a busy night and the delivery driver was really nice. I totally recommend the pizza and service.“
“My husband and I came here for lunch and enjoyed the excellent service and food. The focaccia bread and olive oil with garlic and hummus was to die for and we were getting full before our meal came. We ordered mussels, salad, pasta and seafood risotto. Of course we had to take half of entrees home since we enjoyed the focaccia bread! I have been here before with my friends and ate outside on a Monday night over the summer and also had an excellent meal. We will definitely come back.“
“Was in the neighborhood and I stopped by. Italian beef sandwich is amazing. Loaded with beef. Only thing that happened was that I ordered an Italian combo and I got just a regular Italian beef. Giardiniera was not spicy at all and I do like spicy. Otherwise, will probably be back.Parking: There is a parking lot on the side of the building.“
“A friend told me about this neighborhood gem. I'm blown away by the friendly atmosphere and staff. If you're looking for something special and authentic this is the place to visit. Everything made in-house and freshly prepared with care and love“
“A few years have passed since I visited Tuscany on Taylor. It’s the same busy place I remember. The crowded space cozily hosts groups happily chatting away while enjoying their drinks and food. You almost feel like you’re in a trattoria in Italy. The wait staff is incredibly attentive and professional! The garlic, olive oil, and parmesan paste that is mashed tableside for dipping your bread is absolutely spectacular. Everything we ate was delicious, minus the olives on the charcuterie board, which lacked any flavor and were soft. That was a bit disappointing. Overall, though, Tuscany is a gem, which explains why it’s still busy after all these years in business!“
“Chef! Don't ever take the short rib gnocchi off the menu! Great food and fresh pasta made daily , all served by a Fabulous wait staff! Many dedicated customers. Read these reviews! I didn't want to review because now it will be harder to get a table. They have an outdoor area in back when it's warmer.. so don't be deceived by it's size. Be sure to make a reservation! Enjoy a great dinner and drinks here and tip the staff well!Almost forgot...best calamari appetizer...Ever!Parking: Street parking not too bad. In the evening some surrounding businesses are closed. Besides, you'll probably want to walk off that cheesecake!“
“Thin crust crispy tavern style pizza!! I’ve had many pizzas and different styles, but this is the best I’ve had in a while. We had the pepperoni with hot gardenia peppers and for apps jalapeño poppers and sausage toasted ravioli. The pizzas are def made with love and had that PERFECT crisp bite!! Can’t wait to come back for some more and this place is CASH ONLY ??Kid-friendliness: High chairs for babies.“
“EXCELLENT DATE NIGHT SPOT!Stopped one night after a Blackhawks game. I was worried we were completely underdressed, It was obvious that it is a small neighborhood restaurant when the waitress asked if we'd ever been and said she didn't recognize us. The menu was amazing! The authentic Italian cuisine is very flavorful and the portions are perfect. We will definitely be back!“
“Went in for dinner with my daughters, and the ambiance was so friendly, being greeted when walking in. We did not have to wait long for a table for 5, we had the cod dinner, pizza, chicken tenders, and cheeseburger. The girls and I loved it. Can't believe we moved to Midlothian over a year ago and we just tried this place!! We sure have been missing out.“
“I was recommended to this place, and after seeing the reviews, I decided to try it out for myself. This was my first time here. I was working at Willis Tower today, and this place is just a few minutes' walk from the building. I like the atmosphere when you walk into the place. I like the décor and the colorful feel to the room. Being from Chicago I decided to try the italian beef. You have to order your french fries separate with your order. I would have to say it was a huge beef. I ordered the combo italian beef and a side of french fries. The french fries order was the size of a family order. I have to say. I really enjoyed the italian beef and I really like the fries also. They had some really good looking deep dish, chicago pizzas. The menu is packed with options. I will be returning to try more. I definitely recommend this place as long as there is not a portillo's nearby. Anyone who has read my reviews on food in chicago, portillo's is my go-to spot.“
“Came here by myself to grab a quick dinner.Classic thin crust Pizza was decent. The 10-in serves one to two and was perfect for me, about 1200 calories.Unfortunately the stuffed pizza is no longer available in single serving and the smallest is 9 in at 2400 calories which is way too much for a single meal. The 312 beer is really nice.“
“My overall at the restaurant is very pleasant. I love the diversity of the restaurant. The food is very good and flavorful .I recommend both chicken sandwiches and the pizza puff is fire .. I would love it if it was bigger! The hot wings are good as well... and you can get pizza ? by the slice !!!! Italian ice is good, too ?Parking: Parking is always easy it's right across the street from the restaurant.“
“Coco Pazzo is old school in a way I haven’t experienced for a long time. We (a party of six) were greeted by a slightly frosty Maitre D, but then once seated, our waiter, Max was a consummate pro. The food… Sadly we were on a budget and this is not a cheap place, but if I’d had the chance I’d have tried everything on the menu. Good Italian food looks deceptively simple but the thing is, it has nothing to hide behind. I had Spaghetti alla Vongole. It was the best I’ve ever had by a mile. Every element was pitch perfect! Service was cheerful and warm (unlike the Maitre D). The breads were superb too, as were the homemade crackers that came with the cheese plate… its details like this that separates the mediocre from the exceptional.“
“We came here to celebrate my coworker’s birthday. Very cool dining experience! Every dish that was served was delicious. Stars of the show for me: Chicken parmesan (the breading was still crispy *under* the melted cheese) and the brussels sprouts (charred but almost candied?)“
“Great food and service at a reasonable price in the windy city. We had the Calamari appetizer which was very good. The main entree we had was the seafood salad and Kansas steak and corn brulee. All was good but I was surprised at how good the corn was. Our waiter recommended the corn and wow was he right. The steak was cooked to perfection with truffle butter. Our waiter also recommended the key lime pie which is one of my favorite desserts. This was the perfect way to end a great meal.“
“This family owned business is such a warm and inviting place. The food was amazing, every bite was a burst of flavor. The portions are large so plan on getting more than one meal out of it. The prices are very reasonable and the owners make you feel like old friends. Highly recommend and I will be back.“
“Amazing old school Italian deli. Their sandwiches are incredible, but their frozen pastas and sauces are very underrated. This is a great local spot that is very hard to find nowadays. You feel like you're walking into a different era when you come through here. One of the best local spots that Chicago has to offer.“
“True Italian cooking in a bar like setting, has a private side room away from the bar and outdoor seating weather permitting. Long time established bar that has been remodeled to make it more family friendly.Parking: Newly asphalt parking lot that can get full, but street parking is close by.Wheelchair accessibility: Handicap spots right by entrance and no stairs inside.“
“Can’t lie it was funny how my order came about but the sweetest delivery lady was in my building and the smell alone was tantalizing. I asked where is that from?!! And next think you know we were eating ROSATI’S for dinner. Me and my wife loved it. And we appreciate how they got it to us and took the order even though they closed at 10. It was fresh and piping hot. Without all the expensive cost of Uber eats. Crust could’ve been a little crispier but I understand it was time to shut the ovens down!! Amazing service too“
“Our server, Tacho, is the best! He will give you a five star restaurant experience in the south suburbs of Chicago! And… our busser, Juan, is the hardest worker and kindest person! We love our experience everytime we come in. This is a family staple for us and our extended family.Kid-friendliness: This is our kids favorite restaurant! Believe it or not, restaurants CAN mess up “buttered noodles”….but not here! They nail it everytime and they always accommodate our request for crumbled sausage on top!“
“I was so surprised to find this excellent place. The waitstaff knew we had a quick turnaround and they suggested appetizers that would arrive quickly. I loved the artichoke. We had dirty martinis and they were delicious. The bruschetta was a little tough. The restaurant itself is so lovely!“
“Discovered this gem last night. Wonderful Italian restaurant in a residential area not too far from Midway Airport. Great food, great service, great atmosphere. We parked in the lot and were seated right away. Wait staff were friendly and accommodating with good recommendations. I would love to go back.“
“The atmosphere is pretty cool. Sitting on a couch while you eat may be a bit odd for some but i thought it was a nice touch. The food was really good but not as hot as it should have been but that may be based on the slow service. The waiter was nice, but they may have been short staffed. It was pretty slow moving but the taste of the food totally made up for it. I would totally give it another try if ever in Chicago again.“
“I’ve been coming to Macello’s for a few years. My experience alone cannot describe how much I love dining in. The quality and price for the food is unbeatable, the servers/service is incomparable, the atmosphere and aura is incredible. I would love to give a special shout out to Jennifer for always treating me like family and providing excellent service. Her recommendations are always on point, and her energy makes dining in an unforgettable experience. One, if not THE best, authentic Italian restaurant in Chicago! Highly recommend to anyone! My go-to dishes are filetto di manzo, cavatelli al forno, and to top off the night, the espresso martini with a pannacotta con salsa di caramello.“
“My family has been coming to Francesca’s on 95th for years for gatherings and special occasions. All of the food is delicious; I particularly enjoy the vodka pasta with sausage (the paccheri alla vodka e salsiccia). They also have awesome appetizers and a variety of drink options. The atmosphere is great, and it works well for lunches or dinners.“
“Rustico's new space on Oak Park Ave. (in the old Oak Park Brewery) is incredible in terms of its aesthetics. Very open, high, exposed bow-tie roof trusses, reclaimed wood plank ceiling, a really cool floor (tinted concrete?), and exposed brick walls. Totally cool vibe indeed. Myself, my wife, and two 21 year old kids dined there 1.5 weeks ago and it was awesome. Upon arriving, we were seated immediately. All of the staff that helped us were great: fun, personable, and attentive. We ordered the seafood Paella, Carbonara, Fruitti Di Mare, and Braised Short Ribs. All seafood in the Paella and Fruitti Di Mare was cooked to perfection-nothing was the least bit rubbery and everything was quite savory. The Carbonara was so tasty and incredibly decadent (which, when ordering Carbonara, you almost expect!). The Braised short ribs that my son ordered were so good (based on his review), but unfortunately, decorum prohibits printing the words he used to describe his love of the dish herein. When the bill arrived, there was absolutely no sticker shock and in fact, my wife and I felt that the entrees were very reasonably priced (especially given their generous portions). I don't think that many diners leave this place hungry. Personally, I love Rustico as the food is awesome but the restaurant is anything but pretentious. We will most def be back soon! Jimmah!“
“Reliably good food and service. I have tried something different each time and always been great. We found it when attending a tasting for a friend's wedding. The staff was super helpful with the weddi g party. There are multiple spaces for receptions and other events.“
“My first time dining in here it was really nice really intimate. I had the soup of the day which was cream carrot. It was delicious. I also had the chicken gardinera. It was good, and I also ordered the Bellini as a drink. Everything was good accommodating everything came out fast And very fresh my server was nice parking was good ? I sat at bar no crowd went about 230 in afternoon“
“this place deserves a higher rating! i came here for a yelp event and was not disappointed. everything i tried was great and seemed very authentic. however, i think the highlights were the ragu ravioli and the stuffed mushrooms. the chef came out and personally greeted each table. he was such a sweetheart! the staff also replenished the food multiple times and even gave all the guests to-go containers for the leftovers. impeccable service!“
“Love coming here. Great owner, great employees. Always friendly and helpful. Amazing deli too got great products at a good price. I get a sub here almost every week now and have never been disappointed! Try the meatballs they are fantastic!“
“I visited here a few times, the service is always impeccable. The food is absolutely delicious. if you want a gluten-free crust, call early to reserve a crust the day you go because they could run out. The gluten-free crust tastes fabulous.“
“This is a fantastic Chicago style pizza place!!! And by Chicago style I do not mean just deep dish or stuffed like non Chicagoans default to when they hear "Chicago style pizza". This place blows ALL the tourist trap pizza places out of the water!“
