“Discovered this place while biking to catch the BNSF back to Chicago. Usually would bike past to hop on the train at Western Springs or LaGrange Road. But one day I stopped short and popped in here. Really impressed by the selection of beer, wine, and whiskey. Before the Derby, they had three different bottles of Blanton's Bourbon. I asked for a smell (it's not Jimmy John's, I know) and they obliged me without so much as a blink of the eye. Quite an impressive wine selection. They are serious about their libations and happy to share their knowledge. I really like this place. Good vibe and great drinks. Check it out. Not sure why some clown gave it two stars. “A new favorite! THE FOOD IS AMAZING!!! The atmosphere is very chill and the service is good. the blonde bartender is the best (No names) The only reason I did not give Service and Atmosphere 5 stars is because there were a couple of instances where we walked in and were not greeted by anyone. The bar had not been cleaned from previous customers (empty drinks, dirty glasses, and food crumbs) and there was no clean spot to sit. We stood there for almost 5 minutes, watching the bartender talk to some guy at the corner end of the bar. She never even looked up for us to get her attention. Other than those couple of times, it’s been great! We also love to play the machines when we go there ?“
“We had our wedding reception in the Barrel Room at the Downers Grove location in September. Lisa was amazing to work with from start to finish! She was responsive to my hundreds of emails (almost not kidding) and always available when I would reach out to look at the space. She helped me work out my vision for the space, was present during our rehearsal to make sure the initial setup was what I wanted and then was around the entire day of our wedding to make sure things went smoothly.We loved Alter before our wedding, but she and the staff are definitely a reason we will keep coming back and recommending events being held there! Also, not to leave out how awesome the beer is.“

“Super chill place to eat and the food was great!!! Had been cruising for a place to eat and happened to stumble on this gem! There is a sit-down bar, tables, and booths. The server was beyond chill and super helpful. Asked for suggestions, and he gave us great suggestions. We got the Cesar's salad, wings, pop corn chicken, and a 10' Chicago style pizza!!! “We recently stopped by Tony D’s on a Saturday night because we saw they were having a band. Not much else to go on, we ventured into the wild on a path of discovery. When we arrived, there was no parking and we parked a block away. Now. I have to say that I have been to Tony D’s a couple of times before. I’ve always had a good time. That night was no different. Let’s walk through this.We arrived and all the tables were full EXCEPT ONE! Like it was meant to be. Immediately after arriving the wait staff came over to greet us. Our waitress was sweet and had a pep in her step.We soon realized that Yankee Cowboy was the band that was playing. Nice! Not the best, but they are very entertaining. So that was a plus.We ordered some wings with 2 sauces and the brisket nachos. The wings were meaty and well prepared. Their sauces spicy, but not ridiculously hot or obnoxiously gimmicky. The nachos were good, had a decent portion of brisket. I do wish they had more BBQ sauce, good for bar food, but not amazing.Anyway, the evening went well. Yankee Cowboy did their thing and the whole crowd was into it.Security kept the overzealous partiers in line and asked 2 to leave, so I felt very safe.I kinda struggled with this review because I always have a good time there. Problem is I always feel like something is missing.
