The service was great because all toppings were free and extra straws were provided. The ambiance of the place works well because they play nice music outside and it has an older feel to it even though you order outside the place and eat outside because they do not have an eating area. The volume of the restaurant was still too loud for him: even with hearing aids conversing across a table that could have accommodated eight when we turned out to be only five was challenging, but the window location was the best option and we appreciated that the host did his best. I'm pointing out this situation because it is difficult to find a restaurant that ticks all the boxes: good food, good value, and good conversational ambience. We also shared some sauerkraut & mushroom and potato & cheese pierogies, which were also great. Also great was the mulled wine. They serve a lovely sourdough bread with an interesting spiced spread, but heads up to vegetarians -- the spread is bacon-based. But again, excellent bread. (As you can see, deliciousness was the theme.) The exterior of the restaurant is a little unassuming but the interior is like a cheerful cabin. Would definitely recommend.Vegetarian options: Babcia's pancake, which is a potato pancake with mushroom gravy, served with 3 types of cold salad. There are also meatless pierogies: sauerkraut & mushroom and potato & cheese (ask to be served without bacon garnish). There are also some salads on the menu which are vegetarian. I don't believe any of these dishes are vegan, though at least one of the salads could probably be made vegan if the cheese was left off.“

They turned around a table and even through a pizza in the oven for the kids, no charge. The food was good, not great. When you walk into the hotel, the Thorn restaurant is to your right. The vibe is semi classy and intimate. It can also be a casual place to hang out, eat, and watch tv. Service was fantastic, they really take care of you over here. Prices are reasonable given the atmosphere. I had shrimp tacos, hemp hummus, and the Westcoast smasher burger. Pro tip: when you check in on Yelp, you get the hemp hummus for free. It was big enough to share with two other people.-shrimp tacos 5 - these are good sized tacos. Easily shareable. The shrimp pieces were fresh and juicy. Shells were soft. Avocado pieces were large chunks. The corn tortilla chips were crunchy and did not break easily.-hemp hummus 5 - fresh ingredients and warm naan. Very light appetizer.-Westcoast smasher 5 - ordered it medium and it came out perfect. It’s a very clean burger. Your hands don’t get oily or greasy. Meat practically melts in every bite. Special sauce amplifies the flavor. French fries were crispy and they’re on the thinner side. Our mixologist, David, was super personable and well versed in his craft. He’s bringing experience from cocktail programs in the city to the burbs! The charred cauliflower appetizer was tasty but small portion for over $12. The lasagna Bolognese made with a chicken sausage was equivalent of two large raviolis stacked on top of each other. For $20 I would expect a bigger portion. Overall a higher rating due to the ambience of the restaurant and service was good.“

“Found out about this brewery in Westmont and came to try a few beers. It's in a pretty hard to find location in some industrial area, the worst thing about it. Whiskey Hill is a funny name, as this place has beer, not whiskey. Oh well, what they have is still good. There's a pretty good selection including some hoppy and sours. A lot of breweries are in kind of strange areas. It's the case with this one. This is located on Vandustrial in a building it share with some offices and whatever. Lots of trucking companies around here. There's semis parked along the street. Anyway, the beers. It's about $6 a pour. It's not quite a pint but whatever. Even so, a pretty good price for a small brewery. Has many to choose from. Best was the 7 Mile Bridge. It's a Belgian Weisse with key lime, toasted coconut, and vanilla. A lot of lime flavor. This is almost like a sour to be honest. A pretty strong one at 7% ABV. There's not a whole lot on tap, but they manage to have quite a bit for a microbrewery to be honest. Get some beers on tap or take some of the cans to go. It's a small place but when it's warmer they have a patio. There's no food but sometimes there's food trucks.“

“I work around the corner from here and found it by chance. I will say I will be back. I called to find out where they were located and Cindy explained exactly how to find her place. My coworker and I went to go check out the restaurant and Cindy and a gentleman greeted us as we walked in. Even asked if we had just called. This to me is how you treat your customers.
