Even with those two items, the great service and food quality it's still worth the 5 star review. We sat upstairs, which very much appreciated, being out of the hustle and bustle of the downstairs. “This place is truly a hidden gem. We were recommended to check this spot out by a local bartender, and we are so glad we did! The ambiance was really chill and non pretentious. Our mixologist, David, was super personable and well versed in his craft. He’s bringing experience from cocktail programs in the city to the burbs! It was a cute little spot that gave speakeasy vibes. We initially thought we were underdressed, but this place wasn’t booshie at all, and there was no judgement like some places. “Located in the Rose Hotel, same proximity as Dave and Buster’s and Trulucks. If the parking is full, just park in the huge parking lot across the street by Dave and Buster’s. When you walk into the hotel, the Thorn restaurant is to your right. The vibe is semi classy and intimate. It can also be a casual place to hang out, eat, and watch tv. Service was fantastic, they really take care of you over here. Prices are reasonable given the atmosphere. I had shrimp tacos, hemp hummus, and the Westcoast smasher burger. Pro tip: when you check in on Yelp, you get the hemp hummus for free. It was big enough to share with two other people.-shrimp tacos 5 - these are good sized tacos. Easily shareable. The shrimp pieces were fresh and juicy. Shells were soft. Avocado pieces were large chunks. The corn tortilla chips were crunchy and did not break easily.-hemp hummus 5 - fresh ingredients and warm naan. Very light appetizer.-Westcoast smasher 5 - ordered it medium and it came out perfect. It’s a very clean burger. Your hands don’t get oily or greasy. Meat practically melts in every bite. Special sauce amplifies the flavor. French fries were crispy and they’re on the thinner side. Well seasoned.“

Katherine and I collectively have been to Vistro (Prime) a few times . . . and the food, craft cocktails, and atmosphere make for an excellent social and culinary experience. It was wonderful to see Patrick doing the Mixology while the other restaurant is in process of opening apparently this spring.This time around, Katherine and I stopped by for a craft cocktail, and we ended up enjoying the happy hour oysters that were very good.I have never offered a single suggested critique of Vie or Vistro.The only request I have is for the manager of Vistro Prime is to check the barstools at the bar.My barstool was wobbly, and it likely/ simply needs to be tightened up. I’m a handy person and have constructed and repaired barstools; so possibly, the hardware for some of your barstools needs to be tightened up and or repaired.They are beautiful barstools!Other than that, I completely recommend Vistro Prime to every and anyone that receives this review and all my friends and family as always!“

This place has an elegant/victorian look and a definite city vibe. You do realize your in suburbia do to most of the clientele, but, it's still a nice pop-in for a date night starter or a great location before ending the night. I did notice the place did attract 20-30 something groups, which was nice to see. Also the drinks were created with a mixologist style that almost resembled the Violet Hour Speak Easy in Wicker Park. “Good Tequila's. Goodness. Moved to IL 5 years ago and finally found my favorite Mexican restaurant. Chips are fresh, the wait staff are on point and friendly. Lately, they've been giving out samples of the chicken chipotle soup and it's BOMB! It tastes homemade and just warms you up. I the chicken chimichangas are crisp and melts in your mouth. This last time we went for dinner, I had the steak and chicken fajitas. It was excellent! Portion sizes are good too. We went for dinner on a Friday and a live mariachi band came out and played, it was great! Definitely one of my favorite restaurants.“

“Sunday lunch was a wonderful experience for several reasons. The restaurant was open according to their posted store hours. A few years ago, this would have been a silly compliment. But these days, we have had several encounters in which we would arrive at an eatery and notice the doors are still locked even though it's past their usual store open hours. Needless to say, service was attentive, friendly, and efficient. Our party of six shared the smoked trout dip, calamari, charred pepperoni pizza, white mushroom and truffle pizza, Italian cheesecake, and tiramisu. The smoked trout dip is a tad high on sodium but I really like how it was served with flaxseed crackers. The pizza are served Romana style, therefore rectangular and fluffy. The crust is thin but with a crunch. Even better, they are half-price on Sundays!“
