“This is one of my husband’s and my favorite place! We were a big fan of Creperie St. Germaine so we are so happy that they haven’t completely changed the delicious menu and the interior is the same cozy place we love! And the crepes are to die for! This place is freaking AWESOME!!!“
“Attended the special women James beard winners dinner. Great time, amazing food, great wine pairings. Overall an excellent evening. My only complaint about LeTour, after about four times there, is they need shades for the western facing windows as the sun is in your eyes right during dinner time in that room.“
“I loved my experience at Dear Margaret! This was my second time here and I thought it couldn’t be better than the first time (which was outstanding) and it exceeded expectations! The wait staff is so kind and takes time to explain the menu and wine selections. The meal was coursed perfectly. We loved the duck confit, pork schnitzel, and the pommes frites. Thank you Dear Margaret for a great evening!“
“It's a classic with delicious entrees. The seating is very compact and you'll probably be sitting closer to a stranger than your dinner companion: a table of six nearby seemed downright claustrophobic. Our server was little gruff, but I guess that kept it consistent with the Parisian vibe. Soup, salad, steak frites, poulet rôti were delightful- it's just hard for me to relax in a cramped space.“
“As a perfectionist who doesn’t believe in anything being perfect, I found it hard to give any critiques to our Bistro Campagne experience. Our server, Alexander, did not miss a beat. Every bite of food was exquisite. We enjoyed the escargot and mussels as an app. Then we split the steak frites and salmon entrees. Incredible. I also highly recommend the Spanish Harlem cocktail. We will be back again.“
“Awesome vegetarian options at a French restaurant—feels super rare! Went for happy hour + dinner as a birthday surprise for my boyfriend (who’s newly vegetarian). Every dish was tasty and felt original. My favorite was the mushroom “escargot” (much more memorable than regular escargot) and my partner’s favorite was the carrot tartare. The chamomile bourbon soda was also tasty—their happy hour specials were a great value. Already wanna plan my next visit to try more!!“
“A classy French restaurant is rare but this place does it right. It was a real treat. The food and drinks were great and the atmosphere was just amazingParking: They have a valet service but we didn't notice, and so the street parking is hard to find if you can't get a spot on the main street. The backstreets are zoned for residents“
“Food was outstanding. Wait staff seemed a little disorganized & confused about who was waiting on our table. As a result, one person in our party waited forever to get his cocktails. Restaurant is too small to have live music; very difficult to carry on a conversation.“
“Group of 4 for dinner, fabulous experience starting with Jeanette who got us seated and set up with menu and drinks. Very attentive service by the whole team. Great menu selection, well prepared and presented. Looking forward to our next visit! Thanks for reading.“
“Pomeroy is a cozy spot for French food lovers, but it’s on the pricey side. I visited with a friend; she ordered a salad with beef, and I had a salad and two glasses of wine. She had one glass. In the end, we each paid $80. It’s a bit surprising how fast the cost adds up. So, while the food and place are nice, be prepared for the price.“
“Creative, high quality dishes. A bit pricey, though it lives up to the cost. The steak tartare was very flavorful. Its was quite dressed for a tartare, i.e. not meat-forward. The duck was fantastic, as was the saffron prawn gnocchi. Like the flavors or not, none of the dishes were boring, ingredients were great, and the execution was beyond question. The blood and sand was perhaps the best balanced smoky scotch cocktail I’ve had. Partner’s bohemian was also very good.“
“In September of 2023, George Trois streamlined from an 8-10 course tasting menu to a 4 course prix fixe menu with wine pairings. We jumped a the chance to experience Chef Michael's higher end cuisine under less strenuous conditions, and were very pleased. Our meal consisted of seared sweetbreads for me and goat cheese salad for Kelly, then splitting a dover sole , followed by saddle of venison for me, Tornadoes Rossini for Kelly, and then wrapping up with chocolate souffle. Everything was top notch. The sweetbreads were earthy and delicious and presented on a bed of polenta and adorned with an explosion of crispy fried leeks, which were like exquisite fried onion strings. The dover sole was perfection, firm and buttery. The venison was Chef Michael's classic preparation with chestnut puree and sweet potato gratin, in a huckleberry sauce. This is the best venison I have ever had and a must eat dish, which you can sometimes get at Aboyer, as well. I need to eat it every year. Kelly loved her steak and the chocoate souffle, a bit sized portion, was perfectly executed. Our wine pairings throughout the meal were exceptional, but they do not include the dessert course - at least they didn't that evening. No worries, though, as they have an excellent selection of bourbon. I strongly recommend my Francophiles visiting here as soon as possible, who knows when Chef Michael will go back to a larger format! George Trois is a private dining room inside the Aboyer restaurant. It has only 6-8 tables, depending on the arrangement and size of parties. The room itself is almost uniformly white, and brighter than you might expect or prefer for an elegant evening. It has a subdued vibe to it, but you will hear noise from Aboyer when guests or servers enter or leave the room. But these are minor quibbles and not something that detracts from one of the finest French dining experiences in the Chicago area.“
“This is one of the best experiences I could ever recommend. It was magical from start to finish. 8 of us went - spanning 3 generations. It was a night to remember for all. Chef Benoit was a master host, instructor, chef and all around great man to be around. RaeAnn was super accommodating and responsive. Made reservations and planning a breeze.“
“Food options and preparations were excellent. Dishes creative. Service outstanding and gracious. Choices of desserts superlative as it also had a patisserie. Wanted to try them all. The ambience was beautiful and warm. I love dining out and I live in Chicago but happened to be up north. I would most definitely go back again“
“My two friends and I had a lovely evening at Convito Cafe. All the staff with whom we interacted were very pleasant and professional, and the food was quite good. Almost best of all, they kept the music soft, and we were actually able to converse with each other without having to shout - something that is becoming increasingly difficult in many restaurants. Thank you!“
“Absolutely wonderful experience in every way. The place is charming & cozy and feels like a slice of France in Chicago. The server was just lovely- attentive & friendly and super helpful.Everything from the Savory crepes to the French Onion soup to the Sweet crepes was heavenly! We will definitely visit again and recommend every one run, not walk to this somewhat hidden gem!“
“Incredible food! This is such a great option to have restaurant high quality Meals specially prepared to be taken home! I have tried most items, and often get some sides & appetizers, to have for lunch next day. I especially love the eggplant Parmigiano, Sour Cherry saffron rice, Prosciutto & mushroom pasta, etc. Service is really friendly, with the proprietor hands on! I highly recommend this local treasure!“
“Such a cute place and beautiful summer patio!Loved the goat cheese and peaches salad. The garlic butter that came with the steak and frites was heavenly and the pork chop was so tender juicy. The server was nice. One of my favorite restaurants in Chicago!“
“Since coming back from Paris, I just wanted to re-experience an amazing French breakfast and pastry. And this place never disappoints! I brought my mom here and knowing she has high expectations, I was nervous. But after her first bite, I knew that she loved it! Everyone is always very nice and the atmosphere is just so cozy and very French. The croissants are to die for!“

“THE BEST, best authentic French food in Logan Square. Paloma the manager and the whole team are incredible. I brought about 30 hungry high schoolers here for lunch after our field trip to the Art Institute and we had a wonderful time. The sandwiches on baguettes are delicious and fresh, and the desserts are handmade with care. My kids kept coming back for seconds and thirds and then for to-go orders to take back home. All the employees were so accommodating and made our trip special. Mille mercis ?“
“I dined at Oceanique for my birthday during Restaurant Week, so my friend and I enjoyed a special three-course menu. I had the striped bass and my friend had swordfish. We finished with the pot de crème. Everything was a-maz-ing! Harry was our waiter, and the service was impeccable.“
