“We had our Christmas party at Mary’s Hideway. We were a party of 11. Mary and Carla were very attentive making sure we were taken care of. Service and food was great! Variety of food and drinks and very reasonably priced. Will definitely be back!“

“The Lake House is a favorite place for lunch after a hike at the Chain of Lakes State Park.The appetizers have had a special, eclectic touch but, sadly, they have faded to more "traditional" fare such as calamari, overcooked and too much breading.Similarly, the meals have become more "traditional." No more excellent salmon.The burgers were greasier than before. Next time I will order a well done.The fries were fewer and slightly undercook. Fries should be crispy, not floppy.Still a good place for it's view of the lake, the breezes from the deck and the good food. (poor, good, better, best). “Typically Ive had great food when I order my Sunday lunch for takeout, however I ordered breakfast the other day and was extremely disappointed. The stuffed french toast was cold with no flavor and the cheese cake pancakes were just typical pancakes with a couple small cubes of cheesecake thrown on top. These came with no potatoes or meat so ordered a side of both. Hash browns could have been cooked longer and the sausage patties tasted like rubber. Not a fan if tveir breakfast menu at all for the cost.“

“My kids and I love this place! It’s the only place in town where my dairy free family has zero issues eating great food. It makes my life so easy! “Well, been passing by this place forever and this time we decided to stop in. Very sparse parking so we asked where to park and immediately the female bartender came outside and pointed to a few locations. She must have been an owner because it is rare and doubtful an employee would be so accommodating. Moving on..... We were seated, by the very nice and conscientious female bartender. She asked for our drink order and gave us menus........ So far so good......The food..... Corn Beef and Cabbage Dinner-Outstanding Monster Burger-Incredible Ruben-Great Patty Melt- Delicious Absolutely excellent all around. Not a single negative comment from anyone in our party. Oh, yeah! There was a gentleman talking to some people at the bar and was showing the coolest DUCK model to his friends. Said his buddy made them and was selling them for $5. My buddy immediately jumped up and bought it and asked for another one. Well the gentleman left the bar. Damn... no duck for me....... Hold on...... He returned with another duck in hand. I snapped it up and thanked him. That doesn't happen nowadays. How cool is that. The entire experience of that bar/grille was that of a typical Chicago old neighborhood tavern. Great people. Great food. special nod to the female bartender. Awesome lady who "gets it." We'll be back.....again and again.“

“Something for everyone! The menu is surprisingly long. I enjoy the catfish dinners and chicken. The gyros are delicious and it's one of two places around fox lake with barqs red creme soda on the fountain. I recommend Roost 59 for a really good meal at reasonable prices.“

“Unfortunately I think after new ownership this place has its negatives over positives. While we really like the pizza they added, they absolutely mutilated the fettuccine Alfredo. I loved the Alfredo with the old owners, honestly it was the best around. They took good things off the menu and added stupid things; and their breadsticks are not worth even making on their end. We still enjoy the close convenience and usually are happy with the food but I continue to give this Alfredo a shot because the new owners told me it’s “better than the old owners according to customers” (their words) and half the time I think it’s good, but not better. Today it tastes like expired milk. This is the second time I am throwing it away after trying to take three fork fulls. I am not trying to steer others away from this place, I do think they have potential, this review is for the owners to do better. Don’t claim you’re better than the old owners menu and show cockiness which I thought was really unattractive but I continue to order anyway, if you’re going to not be consistent. Old owners were ALWAYS consistent. Best of luck to this business, we will continue to give it a chance but hope for better.“

“Celebrated my fiancé 30th birthday there and it was the best. Kenny made sure we had everything set days before the party, showed up to the party to help out and make sure everything was great. He would keep up with checking in every so often which was nice to have the owner involved and actually care how it was all going. The bartenders were super awesome and made sure to check on everyone who was in the golf simulator on drinks and food. Overall I’m so thrilled we did his party there. “MUST GO! Found this place from a quick Yelp search while in the area. The reviews are so accurate. Amazing pizza at an even more amazing price. One thin crust, one deep dish, and a soda was $7!!! Don't let the fact it's attached to a gas station deter you. Some of the best pizza I've ever had. The service was super fast and friendly. Adequate seating. “Definitely check this place out! My boyfriend and I got seated upstairs with a window view. It was nice looking out at Crystal lakes town. The food was great! Everything was very delicious and would get again besides my boyfriends salad was only okay. I like that they do punch cards for vegan and vegetarian dishes.
