“We had our Christmas party at Mary’s Hideway. We were a party of 11. Mary and Carla were very attentive making sure we were taken care of. Service and food was great! Variety of food and drinks and very reasonably priced. Will definitely be back!“

“The Lake House is a favorite place for lunch after a hike at the Chain of Lakes State Park.The appetizers have had a special, eclectic touch but, sadly, they have faded to more "traditional" fare such as calamari, overcooked and too much breading.Similarly, the meals have become more "traditional." No more excellent salmon.The burgers were greasier than before. Next time I will order a well done.The fries were fewer and slightly undercook. Fries should be crispy, not floppy.Still a good place for it's view of the lake, the breezes from the deck and the good food. (poor, good, better, best). The staff has always been great and personable!“

“Prohibition style watering hole. Absolutely a NEED to go place!!! If you don't, you're missing out! Owners and staff are amazing. Drink list is off the charts! And for their absinthe drink, they have a vintage absinthe fountain from New Orleans they use. Don't miss out!“

I drove over an hour an half away for açaí bowls in libertyville. I happened to stumble across this place which is now only a 40 min drive. You guys have fresh fruit and definitely give what you pay for.“

“My kids and I love this place! It’s the only place in town where my dairy free family has zero issues eating great food. It makes my life so easy! Plus, the outdoor seating is perfectly situated so that toddlers can eat and watch trains…it’s perfect for us! The food is great! The staff is just awesome! We’re big big fans and will be. “We played a show at the theater next to this place. Had dinner here. WOW!!!! The service was very good and friendly. But the food!! I had a huge burger with bacon, egg, and hashbrowns. It was huge and incredible. Wife had a chicken wrap, she said was incredible as well. The incredible food combined with the small town friendly atmosphere makes this place well worth the stop. I love how they "branded" the bun.“

“I didn't know so I want you to know! We were searching for a place to hold our funeral luncheon. We needing something McHenry local, good food, and could accomodate us on short notice. BuddyZ answered the call. They had a banquet room in the back with access to the patio. We had the pizza, salad, chicken fingers, mostaccioli bar. The food was brought out as soon as we arrived. There were tables of varied heights which accomodated our entire family. Carrie, Caitlyn & Kirsty were so friendly, professional and attentive.Thank you all for being there for our family when we needed you.“

“Absolutely love this brewery! Hoptopus is my fav CL IPA! They don't serve anything else but beer and popcorn along with cucumber lemon water! Now they do have vendors and there's so many places that you can hit up if you're hungry before or after. It's located in downtown Crystal lake and it does have its own parking! They also organize fun game nights and music events depending on the season! Summer it's so fun! I cannot wait to come back and have a cold hoptopus! The service is amazing, you come you sit and order and enjoy .. repeat! That's all for now“

“From the outside looking in, I was drawn to in with the blinking lights. However, it could use a bit more lights to mark the entrance driveway.Once we entered, we were curious with how the food would be. Other reviews appear to wonder about this as well. The interior atmosphere is filled with antiques and charm. The video slot machines is what I believe give reason for pause. The very reasonable prices might even make folks wonder as well! :-)When the food arrived, we didn't have to wonder anymore. The ribs, the salad, and the hot dogs we ordered were all excellent!Now that we're over the hump of wondering, you'll want to come back more and more. The price AND TASTE will not scare you!“
