“I come here once every month and our waitress is always very sweet, I love her and if you come on a day she's made cupcakes buy one! They're delicious and she undersells herself so tip her well! The hell they have there is also very nice, love the people, very cozy atmosphere and the food is always hot and delicious!Parking: Large parking lot, usually openKid-friendliness: Lots of menu items kids will like, juke boxes and pool tables as well“
“Our reservation was at 7 and we were seated immediately upon arrival. Our server was extremely friendly. Drinks came out almost immediately and our appetizer was ready quick and was delicious. Main entrees came out in a timely manner and everything was cooked perfect. Highly recommend and we cannot wait to go back!“
“One of the better breakfast spots in town. I love the pancakes or biscuits and gravy. Portions sizes are large so you get what you pay for. They have a large open area so you don't feel like you are crowded. Staff have always been friendly and the service is quick. Great diner to eat in!“
“We ate here around 7:30 am I had the biscuits and gravy and some cottage potatoe best breakfast I've had will come here again they made us feel like we knew them for ever best environment to be in love the staffKid-friendliness: They loved us and our children like we knew them for years first time being in there will come back“
“Super friendly staff, family owned business. Food was delicious!! I really liked the cream of tomato florentino soup and the escargot. Friday specials can be found on Facebook. Highly recommend. Ambience is good, not too loud; great for dinner conversation. Bartender Ryan was really great!“
“In a city not known for culinary excellence, the Gin Mill is the exception. Had a delightful pork chop dinner recently. The decor with its high ceilings and beautiful bar is way above average. Slight complaint was caesar salad dressing was rather excessive and mediocre. Service was attentive, perhaps a little too much so. Given the local alternatives, I would go back in a minute.“
“Overall, a good place to grab some flavorful breakfast! Food is solid, coffee is decent, service is friendly and fast.Cool atmosphere with vintage feel. The double-walled/insulated coffee cups are interesting, but they keep the coffee waaaay too hot to drink for far too long, so it's tough to get through a cup before your food is eaten.“
“Standard dive bar with good food. Mainly an older quiet crowd. It gets younger on nights/weekends. Dinner for 2 with couple beers and couple rum/cokes will run $40 to $60 before tipKid-friendliness: Kids welcome anytime kitchen is open(closes at 9)“
“Who says you have to leave Decatur to find great food?Downtown has some nice spots including Taproot on Merchant.Check out their 8oz filet mignon! Delicious..and the hearty Chicken Primavera soup is also quite good..... except for the overabundance of PEAS!! Lol...like a third grader, I had to pick those babies out so that I could enjoy the rest of the soup! Thanks for the great service Jim and Allie !Cmon back to downtown Decatur for an evening out!...“
“Very relaxing atmosphere at all times, good food! Great vibes! All walks of life interacts at this location, for the most part and it's always... satisfying experience for the customersKid-friendliness: All ages are guaranteed to have a great time, along with eating great food“
“My husband is from Blue Mound so we stopped here while visiting family. He still can’t believe that when he asked what I wanted for breakfast; I actually answered “Dip & Merv’s” instead of “I don’t care”... The portions are HUGE, the price is unbelievably inexpensive and the service was impeccable! She even remembered to bring out hot sauce from being there a few days earlier. I will be craving the Biscuits and Gravy until we make it back next year!“
“My 1st time here. (I'm not from Decatur). Loved it! Great atmosphere, clean, polite staff, and the food was delicious. (I love your chili too!) Prices are reasonable. It was an all around great new experience for me and I will be bringing new customers back. See you soon!“
“If you like Fried Fish...I recommend the Fish Dinner (served on Fridays)...the fish, I believe is cod and very flaky...the Corn Meal crust is to 'die for'....because it is crunchy and flavorful. It is not soggy like some places I visit...and the recipe? a 75-year old (family secret) recipe.“
“We held a work party in the back room. The weather was great so we were able to open the doors in the back and be outside. The food was amazing, pricing was very reasonable for the amount of people we had, and the touch tunes machine in the back room was great for music.“
“Love this restaurant, always coming back.Kid-friendliness: Coloring books available, kid friendly sized dishes, amazing family atmosphere.Parking: Plenty of room to park.Wheelchair accessibility: 3 entry ways wheel chair accessible in all 3 doors.“
