Whether they can sit at the bar to have their meal served by the train, or just watch it from a table, they absolutely love it and it's an experience we can't get anywhere else. Food is always good and service always excellent. I like that the new(er) owners made a few changes to keep the charm but get rid of a little clutter.”

Today - based on the owner's recommendation - we started with a cupl of their meat and veggie soup that did not make it on the official menu - sorry missed a photo of it - delish! 😍 Pork, chicken and beef in a savory broth chock full of veggies - carrots, celery, onion 🤤 followed that with the egg salad appetizer, one of our absolute favs 🤩 4 toasted rounds of bread with their excellent egg salad 👍 then we tried the new potato pancakes entree for the first time, which came topped with assorted grilled veggies, plus toast, eggs and hollandaise sauce.. we got the eggs scrambled, rye toast buttered, sauce on the side, and requested a side of sour cream. YUM 😋 ended up with the vanilla cake with vanilla frosting - sorry to miss a photo of that too. Awesome! Service was timely, water glasses attentively refilled, as was the coffee too. $31 Note: it was one order of each item as we always split 🤯 We also got 2 bloody Marys and 2 mimosas, plus a Bailey's, kahlua and amaretto mix to add to our coffee as a nightcap from Old Bridge Tavern next door $48 Left with no leftovers and completely satisfied, happy and full.”

“My family and I moved to McHenry not that long ago and let me tell you, finding a Hispanic/latino restaurant isn’t hard to find - But finding the restaurant that delivers in not just their service, but their food is hard to find. That’s where my brother and I have found ourselves many times visiting other restaurants around the area and being let down…

Not today! We have finally found a restaurant that delivers in all the areas we have been looking for and then some. Listen, want to know how to spot a good Mexican restaurant , try their chip and salsa and their aqua de horchata. If they’re stale, you’ll know first hand what to expect.

Well, let me tell you that not only did this place feel welcoming, their food was delicious! The tamales was the key factor in this as well as their rice. My brother and I were left satisfied and happy. The owner reminds me of my father, someone who fights to make a living and the way everyone here treats their customers is outstanding! I can see why the people who kept arriving had a smile on and just respected as if they were familia.

“We have been going there for the last five years bragging about the hamburgers. Went there today order the hamburger it came out. Almost fully well done very poor quality. One asked If I could have gotten it rare was told menu says medium well. Meat was of a quality as if it was cooked earlier this week. Definitely will not be going back for hamburgers. Was told by the waitress No one will ask you how you want it done it says on the menu. We used to consider it best burger in town.”

“My family of six ate at Culvers in McHenry on Tuesday, Dec 31 about 1:30. We were greeted with a pleasant hello. The lady who took our order got it right and was pleasant.Since were a group of 6, I figured it would take a little longer to get our order. That wasn't the case. Not only did the order come quickly, but is also accurate. That was wonderful! When we were nearing the end of our meal, a gentleman, (Jude, I believe) can around with free samples of the flavor of the day (Mint explosion). Never has that happened at Colvers to me in the many times I eat at different Culvers! What a nice touch! Upon leaving, we got a cheery Thank you, have a great day and happy new year. I wish I lived a little closer because Culvers in McHenry would definitely be my go to place. Thank you for good food and the kindness you all showed.”

They stopped us on our way out to give me and my friend roses for mothers day. They were quick and on top of everything, very attentive. Two mom with two little ones was a challenge but they made us feel very welcome. The enchiladas were great 9.5/10 the quesabirria was ok 6.5/10 not my favorite I couldve order soemthing else but I was happy enough. Absolutely would go back again.”

“I have been to Stellas at least a dozen or so times. I can only speak for myself and share my experiences. There have been at least 4-5 different people working upon my visits. The staff have always welcomed me to the establishment an have always asked me if I wanted something to drink and or something to munch on at no cost to me no matter how much I ate or drank. That being said I’m sure there’s drinks or eats at a cost. No persons or employee has ever watched what I did or how much money I spent. I know it’s called gambling for a reason. “Alexes Vienna Beef and Kronos Gyros always has a nice friendly man take your order at the register and the french fries and the Gyros and Char broiled Hamburger is the best I have ever tasted in Mc Henry County Alex's thanks all you nice friendly men who work there I would highly recommend this place to stop at and eat lunch or dinner you will not be dissappointed and the food is fantastic and he gives the customer the best bang for his buck !”
