The food here is fantastic and the family that runs this restaurant is super kind and generous. Excellent sized portions which makes this a tremendous bang for your buck. a couple cakes for some family birthday parties, and one very special unicorn cake for my toddler’s birthday. I walked in, described what I was looking for, and every cake I ordered turned out so much better than I could have imagined! The cakes were all absolutely beautiful and DELICIOUS! Kids and adults alike kept raving about them - and the process couldn’t have been easier. This baker is a gem to work with and he makes some very good baked goods. Wouldn’t think twice about going back, and recommended it to everyone at the party. Plus, he’s less than half the cost of some of these “designer” bakers out there - and it was SUCH a beautiful cake!!

Try the donuts and coffee cake while you’re there - also a huge hit in our household!”

The catering and management team were very responsive, flexible, and excited for host our event. We had about 50 people and the staff was outstanding. Everyone loved the food. I met the owner of the restaurant the food is made fresh when you order we are coming back again next week Tuesday after my DR appointment. “Had some brews at our favorite spot, Sketchbook Brewery in Skokie, and decided to order some tacos from here through Uber Eats. Noticed a few BOGO deals for Elotes as well as their Chicken Tinga. Ordered those as well as a few Steak Tacos (white onion and cilantro) and some tasty salsas (red and green). Steak was not super salty like most spots. Chicken Tinga was some of the juiciest I have had yet not super oily or drippy. Elotes were good and a bit different with what seemed like black pepper as a nice kick. Did not realize this place was a food truck/stand at a park. May check out the actual spot some time.”

“My family comes by rather frequently but i've never left a review. The food is Exceptional. The chicken satay with the peanut sauce is full of flavor and tender. The kanom jeeb is cooked to perfection as well, it had a very nice and tender texture. Additionally, their thai curry, pad see ewe, and fried rice are full of flavor and portioned very generously. Apart from food the service is very nice and friendly. Overall very good, give it a try.”

“This was the second time I came here. The first time they didn’t have all of the food items. Now, you can have dinner and dessert at the same place. They only have one kiosk to order from. Most of the time they were in the back. The people are actually very nice but their customer service skills could use some work. When I asked for extra spoons, I didn’t receive any sarcastic or snide remarks. I ordered just an iced milk tea (Thai) with brown sugar jelly. The results are very decent, not the best. Price was fair. I had a sample of my partner’s bingsoo. They come in two different sizes, the cup one is for one person. The other one can be shared between 2-3 people. Fresh ingredients and good ice cream. They have tables and booths for groups and couples. Ample seating. They also have some props for taking pictures with.”

“My Mom and I were looking for a new (new to us) Chinese-American restaurant. Palace Cantonese surpassed all expectations. Every plate we had was delicious and food was hot. The service by Calvin was outstanding.

We entered the restaurant and were the only ones during this late lunch time. We sat in the comfortable and cozy booth (firm for what my back needs). Right away, Calvin brought delicious hot tea and water. The Fried Won Ton, which is hard to find without meat, was perfectly fried, not soggy. The cup of egg drop soup was a generous portion, more like a medium bowl. The veggie egg rolls were large and tasty. The Chicken Szechuan, was like a kung pao chicken and very flavorful. I loved the touch from Calvin bringing extra peanuts without us asking. He also asked if we needed more tea even though our steel carafe was half full. At similar restaurants, I’ve not seen that service.
The final touch was receiving 2 almond cookies (plus fortune cookies), which my Mom and I love.
It’s my new favorite restaurant which I will be patronizing every time I’m in Chicago.

“As a regular at Halmae Bossam, I can confidently say it’s one of my favorite spots for authentic Korean cuisine. The bossam is outstanding, always tender and flavorful. We love the set menu options and individual dishes.

What keeps me coming back is not just the food, but also the simple and home-like atmosphere. The staff is friendly and attentive, making each visit special. The banchan is always a highlight, with a fantastic variety of flavors that complement the main dishes beautifully.

The portions are excellent, offering great value for the price. Halmae Bossam never disappoints. If you're looking for a taste of authentic Korean food, this place is definitely a must-visit!”

“An excellent Chinese BBQ place run by a very friendly and knowledgeable couple. They really know the art of BBQ and everything is cooked and prepared to perfection. The BBQ chef there had been around for at least a decade back from before the current owners took over the shop.

The prices are very reasonable and the taste authentic. The best part is buying BBQ from here saves me the time and hassle of going to Chinatown.”
