There's also gaming. A few way to keep entertained. It has video poker and slots. There was one woman who never moved from the one slot machine the entire time. As for the rest of the stuff, it has pretty average drinks and food. It's about $6 for wells. Basic liquor selection. The food is mostly fried and greasy things. About $3 for fried appetizers. The rest of the menu is meaty stuff. Good stuff as far as entertainment. It has slots. There's not that much else interesting but it's a nice neighborhood hangout if you're around it though.“

If you have a moderately large party, the mountain melt is a must have. I got the buffalo chicken wrap with fries and the chicken and the seasoning in the sauce was on point. And the fries were perfectly wrapped. The service was great since my friend and I sat at the bar and the bartenders were very attentive. Seeing them make drinks and test to make sure the drinks were good did show me that they really did care for how the drinks came out. The atmosphere or ambiance like I like to all it, hands down the what music I have ever been able to listen to while eating at a restaurant. The era of different music was great. “We heard their fries were awesome and had to give it a try. We chose to go around 4pm on a Saturday and beat the dinner crowd, sat at the bar and had speedy service all around. They also have wood bar toppers to give you for food orders at the bar since the way the bar top is originally built isn't the best for eating. There is a decent tap list and their duck fries were as good as claimed. I can't speak for their busier times but when we went it was clean, we were greeted and our food came out quick. Overall, it's worth a try to decide for yourself.“

“The Newark Nook is one of the more famous speakeasy's on Chicago's Northwest side. While it is most famous for being Milton S. Hershey's preferred watering hole when he visited Chicago for the 1893 World's Fair, it was also the scene of several gangland shootings in the 1920's, and was built on the site of a civil war battle where famed wild Buffalo hunter, Col. Michael Gallen, was killed. Today the bar is mostly known for its extensive cocktail list and secret lounge area. The food is prepared by a former James Beard award winning chef but is a bit too fancy to my taste, but everything is very nice. The Colonel Gallen Buffalo Nachos are stellar and include a commemorative plate that can be taken home.“

“Believe it or not, my love wears a claddagh ring that I purchased for her when we enjoyed an amazing trip to Ireland earlier this year. So we knew we had to visit the Claddagh Ring Pub one of these days. This neighborhood pub on Foster Avenue received some interesting "pub" earlier this season when they promised to pay for all patrons' tabs if the Bears lost to the Broncos, and sure enough the Bears blew a big lead and Claddagh Ring Pub wound up on the news because of the promo. We finally made it here one random Sunday afternoon as we stumbled in after another Bears loss. The bar was pretty packed, but the owner was super friendly to us. He noted that there was a back room with some elbow room, along with some free tavern style pizza that was not gobbled up yet by the fans. Later when I went up to the bar to order drinks, he made sure that I had the chance to place a drink order with minimal waiting. What a swell guy! Loved my pint of Guinness! Perhaps we looked like newbies, but he really seemed to care about us with his customer service. Check out their website for sports specials and happy hour deals. The burger was juicy and delicious. The chicken sandwich was crispy and spicy and you came on a brioche bun. Topped with fresh tomatoes and purple onions. Very well and very tasty. I paired it with mac & cheese, which is not a traditional mac & cheese by any means. This mac & cheese was out of this world. Fantastic! The only reason why this place did not get a five star rating was because they were short a waitress on this particular Monday. However, our bartender was very social and accommodating. “We had our son's 1st birthday in the Fireplace Room at Countryside Saloon recently and we couldn't have been happier with how it turned out! We'd recommend anyone to have a big party here. We had about 50 guests and the space was more than big enough for people to walk around and mingle or sit down to eat. Staff allowed me to arrive an hour before the official party start-time so we could put up birthday decorations, including a large balloon arch (which the staff actually helped us take down & discard after the party, which was very helpful). We ordered an unlimited pizza, salad, and pasta salad food option from the kitchen, along with unlimited domestic beer pitchers, which all worked out wonderfully; food was delicious and nobody left hungry (or thirsty!). And the cost was reasonable to feed 50 people. Too bad our son will be too young to remember it, but everyone else had a great time!“
