“I’ve worked in the pizza industry for 15 years and this is some of the best NY Style crust I’ve had outside of the east coast. Perfect size slices. I love the pepperoni and the BBQ Chicken. Pepper, cheese, oregano on the table and they offer like 15 hot sauces which is great because I like my pepperoni slices drenched in Valentina. The staff is always very nice. I’ve only been here three times and they make you feel like family. Plus two massive slice and a soda for $10 during lunch m-f is a great deal.”

“Not only have I loved Hawthornes from when I was a kid growing up in West Chicago! It was the PERFECT place to have my wedding. Lou, Heidi and Kelly did fantastic and helped make my dream come alive! Every question I had they answered and were able to accommodate so much! Heidi was in CONSTANT communication with me and was able to give advice and help me through the whole process. Her suggestions were so helpful and she helped during the ceremony and reception. I could not have done it without them. This place treats you like family and has amazing service! When my husband and I went to pick up our things the next morning we were planning on taking 2 trips and Lou let us borrow his truck that is how amazing and friendly they are! WE LOVE YOU HAWTHORNES! Thanks for making our wedding the best day of our lives(: not to mention EVERY guest couldn’t stop talking about how fun the venue was and there was something for everyone to do, wiffleball, volleyball, giant beer pong, bags, dancing, and more! Everyone was able to have fun the whole time!”

“I've been following this food truck ever since I came back from Hawaii and love their food. I always get their Khalua pork, they service it with rice and mac salad as well as their masubi. Lately, I've been craving a malada since I never got one in Hawaii and now Flyin Hawaiin makes them too!! Malasada had a crisp to their "skin", I got the original and the cinnamon. I highly recommend this place.”

“Everything is absolutely fresh, delicious, and made with care. I knew this week would be busy and so I ordered a half tray of chicken fajitas for dinners this week. So incredible and comes with everything you need (tortillas, salsas, limes, etc.). The value is excellent and the owners are wonderful people.”

“Great bar and great food. The wings are very good, wet or dry, there are a lot of options, I usually go with the Cajun dry rub.. Bingo is Wednesday night and a lot of fun, plus the wings are half off that day. Burgers are excellent. Jackie is fun and is always lively. Good people there too. And some slots if you’re into that.”

“Look I'm not a very big coffee drinker, but WOW! I didn't get the pleasure of meeting the "Barista" my work partner picked up the coffee as I hung back in work van. “Was passing through West Chicago yesterday from out of the city and stopped in for the first time. The minute I walked in the door, a very warm, positive vibe hit me. I'm a Veteran so when I saw the Marine Corp memorabilia, I knew I was in the right place. The service from behind the bar was outstanding! All class and personality. The food was fantastic! Burger was fresh, flavorful, aromatic and well-crafted. Ball game on the screens with the sound up (ya don't get that at other pubs, they keep it muted). The place was cozy, comfy, warm and smelled like Heaven.......I will definitely be back!! I'm also gonna tell all my friends about it here on the North side. lol (3 thumbs up......oh wait, where's my third thumb?? 😁👍👍👍)”

“I’ve been looking for a good ice cream shop to go to and have definitely found it! This is some of the best ice cream that I’ve had in a long time… loved the water based strawberry and mango… the cream based cafe and chocolate were delicious. Will definitely return for more!!”

“The store is managed by a couple of individuals who handle all aspects of the business, from taking orders to packaging and prepping the food.

Everything felt just right up until we ordered a pack of donuts. One of the employees began packing donuts in a haphazard manner, stacking multiple donuts into a single box, they could hardly fit into the box— quite clumsy and unhygienic!

With that said, the cappuccino we ordered was prepped sooner than we knew it and tasted great.
