“I found this gem by chance. The food is beyond amazing, I had the fermented seafood pho. OMG!!! The flavors were so good, and nothing was overpowering. You know you're in a great place when the owner is greeting customers like they're part of the family. This will definitely be a return visit the next time I'm in town.“
“We ordered sushi for take out from here on a whim (after our regular place turned out so busy on Good Friday that they disconnected their phone and turned off online ordering). They have a great selection of maki, both basics and specialty rolls at very fair prices. Edamame was piping hot when we got it home. We found a nice surprise in our order - they had included 2 ice cream desserts with a hand written note to have a good night on the box. Really sweet touch. Everything was fresh and yummy - I also feel like the specialty roll portions were very sizeable. Will definitely come back again to try some of the bento meals and udon noodles! Thanks :)“
“The food is always amazing and the owners have great customer service. I go at least once or twice a month and I’ve tried multiple items but the ceviche is my favorite. It’s made fresh and you get your money’s worth. Definitely worth the drive.“
“Awesome awesome awesome! Our second time dining at El Jefe, just as the first 5 star experience! The staff are wonderful, very attentive, and very happy! Food was excellent, I had the grilled octopus and devoured it!!!! My recommendation for food - anything on the menu! Great atmosphere, great people, I can’t say enough…“
“The experience was very pleasant, the service was very good, very attentive, helpful, the food is delicious, the place is clean, beautiful, they have delicious quesadillas and they also had someone playing guitar music.Kid-friendliness: Family atmosphere has two spaces“
“We LOVE this restaurant, and will always come back for a fun/delicious night out, but we always seem to have something missing or incorrect with our order. The servers are very nice/accommodating, but it would be preferable to have our orders come out correctly the first time.“
“I had the shrimp and grits and it’s very delicious. It looks tiny but they give you so much shrimp and it’s very filling. The drinks are delicious and will get you a good buzz. They should play more yacht rock music to fit the vibes better imo. Other than that it’s a great place to eat and it deserves more attention.Parking: Plenty of parking available“
“I was pleasantly surprised. I ordered the kebab with the mixed sauce and I have to say it was delicious. My husband had the lamb and it was also very good. We ordered drinks the passion empress was so good and refreshing. The service was tremendous and the atmosphere was great. I am so glad that we discovered this place what a gem with European food. Simply delicious. Will definitely go back.“
“Overall, this was a decent steakhouse. My husband and I came here on the last day of restaurant week this year, as we love trying different steakhouses. The service was great and our server was attentive despite the busy dinner rush we had entered. The food was decent. For our starter, I got the SRF Wagyu Meatball with Whipped Ricotta and Basil Pesto which was very good. My husband got the lobster bisque which was a bit cold when we got it. For our entree, my husband got the center- cut filet mignon and I got the Double Cut Prime Pork Chop. Again, my dish tasted more on point than his. Both of our desserts hit the spot though! We got the hot chocolate cake and the hazelnut chocolate mousse! Overall, there were some slight misses but definitely a lot of hits!“
“First time stopping at Bs Shrimp & Fish after driving by the area and seeing this new spot had opened up. I tried their shrimp, corn fritters, onion rings and spaghetti. Everything was bursting with flavor, the shrimp tasted very fresh. They make their own homemade sauces and what a bonus to find they carry other options like wings tenders, desserts, mac n cheese and much more. So glad to know we now have this jem in the neighborhood. I will be a returning customer for sure!“
“This was our 1st time eating here. I have to say that we were NOT disappointed at all!! Very satisfied!! Very, very good food!! We are definitely coming back!! Living out in the suburbs, it gets hard finding good chicken wings, fish, etc. that is worth going to, other than in Chicago! Coming here, is definitely a taste of the Chi!! Definitely recommend!! The Hennessey Sauce is a must have!! Thank you for a great experience!! Continued Blessings!!“
“First time here with friends. This is a very popular place so reservations are highly recommended. Tables are very close together and is somewhat loud. The service was good but not as attentive as I would have liked. The food is phenomenal! We started out with Bang Bang Shrimp. It's an explosion of flavor with a touch of heat over a bed of shredded lettuce. They serve warm bread with an oil dip of a pesto, but it did not have pine nuts in it. It is important because my husband is allergic. My husband had a fliet with shrimp scampi, the 2 sides were asparagus and potatoes au gratin. They were very crispy and flavorful. My grilled scallops and shrimp were delicious in a lemon butter that was more like a thicker dipping sauce. I had the cole slaw and jasmine rice. Both were excellent! The other person had mahai fish. Everyone was happy with their selection. I had a glass of wine. No desert this time. Another tip:if you have an AARP card, they offer 10% off the entire bill. We we be back!“
“We went to this restaurant for a family event. There were nine in our party and because of our party's size, we were seated in the building next to the restaurant. The staff was attentive and knowledgeable and the food was beyond delicious! We had heard good things and everything we heard was true. If you are looking for good Italian food, this is the place to go.“
“The staff is extremely friendly and personable. The food was absolutely delicious. Everything that we tried was outstanding. We were suggested the cheesecake for dessert and it was incredible. I hope everything works out with the amazing family that owns this small but awesome business and they are able to stay open at the current location or move to another.“
“I have passed this restaurant too many times to count. Had a few friends recommend for an anniversary dinner and glad I went. Really cool "old school" ambience. Great service, never felt rushed and answered all questions on the menu. So many things I wanted to try but went with the filet and lobster. The steak was cooked perfectly as I had asked for medium rare. My wife had steak also and said the same. The food was so good that I'll be back. I would make reservations next time as the place was quite crowded at 8:00 on a Saturday. Great meal!“
“I had just left a review somewhere else about how I've never had a restaurant that served both ramen and sushi where the ramen was actually decent, but there's a first time for everything, right? The restaurant itself is quaint, but comfortable and has a nice ambience. I sat right in front of the sushi making area so I had a nice little show while I ate. The server was nice and took my order quickly and checked in on me enough.I had ordered both a miso ramen and a couple pieces of tamago nigiri. Funny enough, while my usual complaint is the ramen at a sushi restaurant, today it's more of a small complaint about the sushi! The sushi itself didn't taste bad at all. It was well-made, in fact. My only "complaint" was that the tamago was still very cold from the fridge, but still really tasty. It didn't affect my overall experience. The ramen was great and the presentation was really nice. I'm really fond of miso ramen in general and they made it really well here.Noodles: The noodles are thinner, springy, and chewy. They were pleasant to eat and tasted amazing. They had a nice neutral taste that went well with the broth.Broth: The broth was rich and savory and had a good miso flavor. It was served perfectly hot.Toppings: The pork tasted like it was marinated well and was nicely braised. The egg wasn't marinated in anything and was a plain soft boiled egg. The bamboo shoots also tasted good on their own. I also enjoyed the corn last in the broth. Everything worked well both separately and together.Overall, I was very pleased with Lili Sushi & Ramen! I'll definitely be coming back to enjoy the other bowls of ramen offered here!Vegetarian options: They have vegetable ramen“
“I came here once but they used to have a slightly larger selection on the menu. Judging from recent reviews, I guess they don’t have many sandwiches anymore? I definitely wished they had a website or some sort, so you can see what they offer now. The tuna tower was an excellent appetizer. Prices were slightly expensive and portions were okay. Seafood was fresh. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Ample amount of parking. They have a decent amount of seating.“
“Excellent Thai food for sure however I have one pet peeve: We ordered a curry dish and the white rice portion was tiny. When I got up from the table to ask for more they charged me $2 more. Curry is served over rice. How cheap can you get? You can buy white rice in 25lb bags for $18 and that's a retail price. No excuse here, sorry. This is unacceptable.“
“First time here and Lilly explained the entire menu and was just a great waitress with a great attitude! I got the seafood boil with added mussels and my gosh was it so tasty with different levels of spicy. I got the medium and it was just perfect. I found my new favorite seafood boil place!! I will definitely be retuning more often!“
“The Best Tacos Arabes that I've ever had, besides my Mama's Ofcourse .the Arabe Salsa is perfect! My husband loves their burrito Grande , Delicious .Mario is so Kind and takes the time to know his Customers by name. The staff are always serving and taking orders with a Smile and promptly servingThe Restaurant is a little taqueria joint and it's Good that way. Cooks are singing and it's a Happy atmosphere. We take the drive because the Food is worth it.We are Always Happy and Satisfied.Thank you Juquilita Tacos for your Great Service and delicious Mexican Food??“
“The food was great and affordable! Atmosphere was fun! We all had an amazing time! Huge shout out do the man in the hanger (I think he said his name was Jeff). He was so nice and excited to show us around the hanger! You could tell he really enjoys working there and is excited to share his knowledge of planes! He really took our experience from great to amazing! We were beyond impressed with everything!“
“This location is by far THE BEST! From friendly staff, good portion size to beautiful presentation that almost makes you sad to eat your food lol. This location set the standards high for all order PokeBros and other similar places. I would rather make the drive to Bloomingdale than the ones closer to my house. Keep up the great bowls!“
“I dearly wish I had taken a photo of the Connecticut Roll when I enjoyed it at Black Horizon this past Saturday, Seafood is super fresh, and served up by a great bunch of Guys. Word of warning, reserve the Rolls in advance because they sell out quickly“
“Alright, so I've gotta spread the word about Xi'an Cuisine. I've been grabbing takeout from here several times and, let me tell you, it's consistently awesome every single time. There's something about opening that takeout box and getting hit with the smell of hot, fresh food that just makes my day.The flavors here? Absolutely amazing. It's like each dish has its own little flavor party going on, and trust me, your taste buds are definitely invited. Whether it's a spicy kick or a subtle, savory blend, these guys know what they're doing. It's the kind of food that makes you pause mid-bite and go, 'Wow, that's good.'And the best part? It's just down the road. I mean, sure, I could try other places, but why mess with perfection? It's gotten to the point where I'm like, 'Why would I go anywhere else when I've got this gem right here?'If you're in the area and haven't tried Xi'an Cuisine yet, do yourself a favor and give it a go. Whether you're a regular takeout connoisseur or just looking for a new spot to try, this place won't disappoint. Trust me, your future self will thank you.“
“I ordered on May 29th, and indicated that I have Celiac disease (gluten intolerance). I mistakenly ordered a portion of my bowl that included gluten ingredients. They attempted to call me twice (I missed it) to let me know. Even though I did not answer, they delivered the food with the gluten containing ingredient separate with a note to be careful. I am so impressed, and it is so hard to find safe places to eat as a Celiac. The extra care and time to make sure my food was safe really impressed me... not to mention the food was fresh and so delicious! I applaud the staff for their attention to detail and care, and am making Poke Bros a staple take out.“
“I wanted something easy but fresh and Poke Bros did not disappoint. I came for lunch on a Saturday and the place was empty. I ordered right away and found an empty table to eat. Inside, there are a few tables but most people got their bowls to go. Everything felt very clean and bright and the young lady who took my order was very polite and helpful. All the ingredients looked and tasted very fresh and the portion size hit the spot.“
“From service to food, this is the best brunch spot on my radar! Mandy is the best waitress I’ve experienced- both hospitable and super fun! Just loved her! The spot is super cute, not too loud, not too quiet. A true gem in South Elgin! This is my new go-to brunch spot!“
“My 1st time here.Excellent place for good food and live entertainment. I had the largest fried Shrimp ever and they were amazing. We went for the fantastic Shindig 60's band, the top local band in the Chicago area. They were outstanding, as usual. The band stage was WAY too small but worked. It needs to be reconfigured to a larger size and the lighting needs to be adjusted because taking pictures didn't work.My suggestions :1. Remove the tv's since you're really not a good venue as a sports bar. Add more tables under the tv's.2. Expand the band area and include an area for dancing. Too many people were dancing around the tables.5 separate dining areas. Lots of seating.I rated 5stars because it was an exceptional situation with St. Patrick's Day, the staff was overwhelmed with the crowds but were amazing under the circumstances.03/16/24 was St. Paddy day celebration. We had a reservation 1 month in advance. Thank goodness. But we still waited 30 minutes for our table because the wait staff wouldn't get the previous people to leave our table. This needs to be adjusted.Parking: Free parking but on an occasion, like St Patrick's day, get there early.“
“Kid-friendliness: Several quotes from the kids this experience. When are we coming back here again? This was in the top 3 or 4 places we’ve been! I wonder if there is a job that’s just a crab leg cracker? So, we all loved it. Popped in for an anniversary outing on a Lent Friday. Highly recommend the Coconit, Ubi, and Mango frozen dessert. Nothing we would have ordered but they comped it for our anniversary and it was the perfect ending to a delicious crab dinner (and everyone’s breath is better for it). We will be back soon!“
“I'm glad I stopped here. Service was prompt and the gentleman at the register was really nice. I ordered the large chicken tender and small chicken Gizzard meal. There was a couple in front of me.He said about 10 min and it was right on time. The portions are very big and the breading was crunchy not oily. He asked if I wanted lemon pepper seasoning for both. I figured you don't ask unless it's popular. Boy it did not disappoint imo. Super fire! The coleslaw was good, it's very simple. If I had to "complain" the only thing I was just ok with was the fries. Only reason why is I like mine more crispy. They were still good though. Both the mild (bbq?)and hot (thicker style of a Louisiana mixed with Frank's?) sauces were good. For the price and portions it's definitely worth the try. The guy at the register was also very thankful for me stopping in and made sure I knew that before I left. I'll definitely be back!“
“Good! If you haven't tried it give it a try. My favorite is the deep fried tofu with chilis, and their vegetable dishes are good too (I have had the string beans, as well as the eggplant several times. It focuses on take-out, but you can eat in the food court area.“
“Food and drinks have always been excellent. I gave a 25% tip like I always do to compliment service. I have seen some cheap customers complain because they were charged a tip and they posted that they have felt offended but after complaining they gotten their TIp-charge back by the restaurant, that means the restaurant gave this cheap ass person their tip back, and this person still went on this site and tried to say shit about the tip he did not even paid, don't believe everything you see . but the way the Menu says gratuity, common sense that it will be charged, that is called a tip, servers of all restaurants deserve a tip, respect service and if customers don't want to give a tip. then you should cook and clean for yourselves“
“Visited "Catch 35" recently on a date and had a great time. The staff were very courteous, helpful and respectful. They explained things well, and made great recommendations. Hats off the the chef, the best cooked scallops I've ever had. All the dishes were delicious and my date loved it too. My only complaint would be the serving plates; they made the serving portions look small.“
“Food is AMAZING here, it's always fresh and ready in 10-15 minutes and comes with great sauces. Service was friendly and very helpful if you didn't like your food or if you wanted anything extra they were always ready to help! They also have some good vegetarian and vegan options!“
“Great food and atmosphere. Every table I've eaten at felt intimate even though it is an open floor plan with plenty of seating. I've never felt like I was crowded or uncomfortable. The food is amazing. I had the filet and it was cooked exactly as requested and seasoned perfectly. The bacon wrapped dates stuffed with goat cheese is a must try for everyone!Always a must eat at when I'm in the area!“
“OMG best little place in carol steam, I'm here Sunday night no one is here and I am wondering why, I had a drink called sunshine, it's pineapple, orange, strawberry juices is delicious. I had crab legs, corn, potato, eggs, salad came with meal, the dressing on salad was very different but soft and delicate, the crab was very clean, sweet and plenty. ordered the cajin house, mild still had a kick of spice but perfect. If I could give this place a 10 star it would get an 11. Fabulous delightful very quiet, server's was not a pest, but cleaned up right away. I still don't know why it's not packed. This is a must go to if your in carol stream IllinoisParking: Plenty of pull in spotsKid-friendliness: Tv, kids menue“
“This place has a fairly extensive menu, with a wide variety of dishes for all tastes (rice, chicken, fish, beef, pork, vegetables). The atmosphere is very pleasant with a decoration quite typical of a Chinese restaurant. As for the food, it has a great flavor, we ordered rice with shrimp (good quantity) and a dish of sweet and sour beef with vegetables, both dishes were delicious and three people ate perfectly with these two dishes. I recommend it ?.“
“Chums is a great place to get a fish meal, you can get walleye and catfish grilled if you like. The catfish is marinated, so it tastes really good, and not fishy at all. The coleslaw and fries are both good. The owner and cook are friendly and will answer any questions you may have. I tried both their walleye and catfish and enjoyed both, although I'll try the grilled walleye again with fries. Come in soon and try them out as it's always been a good experience for me and my wife. the atmosphere is comfortable with an authentic feel.“
“Returned to this restaurant last night, with more of my family. I wanted them to experience the food, service, and ambiance of this great restaurant. We were not disappointed at all, the friendliness staff to take care of us. The food is just outstanding and you receive enough to take home. There special bread is to die for, always have to take some home. If your in the Carol Stream area you must have lunch or dinner here. I promise you will becoming back there again. And thank you Tino Malo, the manager there for always checking on us and making sure everything was fine. I and my family are very happy customers,be seeing you again soon.“
“Really enjoyed the Spicy Tuna Build Your Own bowl with seaweed salad, edamame, and cucumber. The OG a sauce was very tasty! I would definitely go many times to try all the sauce flavors! They even have vegetarian options and kid options too!“
“Since New Wok hasn't reopened and prices at House of Emperor have slowly been raised thru the roof, we tried here and got 4 dishes we have ordered at many Chinese take out places or even in Chinatown. Here we go: Chicken Chop Suey-excellent! Sauce is tasty, plenty of bean sprouts and pea pods, good amount of tender chicken, trimmed nicely of any fat. Beef Fried Rice-very good. Although it had yellow onion instead of the more normal green onion, and scrambled egg was kinda sparse. Still very good. Beef With Broccoli-would have also been excellent except it had sweetness, I have always hated sugar added to my Americanized Chinese food. BBQ Pork Egg Foo Yung-same comment as the beef with broccoli. The gravy for the egg foo was VERY sweet. Too sweet for me! The only option is large which is 3 paddys not the usual 4. I think without the sugar it would have been very good. Purely take out here, it was obvious they used to have a sit down business at some point but not now. Extensive menu, see their website and either phone order or online order.“
“Responding to owners response:You're welcome. Both my wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our bowls. I chose salmon and tuna and my wife had chicken. The portions were fair and even generous and all food was fresh. We are excited to return with hopefully the same satisfaction.“
“The Carol Stream Browns is the best! All the employees are great and the chicken and sides are always so good! Fried mushrooms are cooked perfect and the chicken always tastes so good, never tastes like old oil. Also love the onion rings and green beans. Best chicken around!“
“The service was great. The food was wonderful. I had the grilled calamari appetizer that would change anyone's ewww? to ohhhh?.The seating was spacious, but a little bit loud. If you whisper words of love to your special someone, no one around you will hear, but your special someone may not either.“
“Family get together dinner, some had been here before and 3 of us it was are 1st time here. Very enjoyable dining. Owner stopped by table to introduce himself and see if we were enjoying the experience at his restaurant, very nice to see how he watched over everything. Very easy to read wine list and food menus as when you open them they light up. The atmosphere was very interesting as the building is an old church built in 1928 and converted to this restaurant. Stained glass, fireplace, vaulted ceiling, and ivy covered walls outside make this a very unique place. GREAT service, easy to carry on a conversation, many candles create a pleasant atmosphere. Will enjoy returning in the summer as they have outside dining too. If you want a pleasant dining experience, this is a place to try.Parking: Large public parking garage behind restaurant and a few street parking spots in front of restaurant.Wheelchair accessibility: No real obstacles in the way, and elevator to allow access to additional seating on 2nd floor, washrooms are also located on 2nd floor .“
“Everything was delicious especially the margaritas! So good! My only complaint is I'm not a fan of their chips. I prefer thin homemade chips. Their chips don't taste homemade to me but I can get over that. The food was outstanding! Our waiter was awesome and was kind enough to take pics with my big camera and of course someone's cell phone. I highly recommend Lalo's.“
“My favorite is the sea food boil with shrimp, crab legs, potatoes, sausage & their spicy cajun sauce. I come here almost every other week. It is my favorite sea food boil spot! I bring friends here when they are in the mood for sea food. Great customer service here as well. I dine in & take out from here as well.“
“Customer service was superb but most importantly the food was so flavorful. We ordered calamari and crab cake for appetizer and we were blown away by the amount of crab meat in the crab cake. Wished the calamari had a better sauce for people who don’t like spicy food. For our entree we’ve had, Fish Taco, Shrimp de Jonge and the Fish of the Day. Everything was fresh and cooked perfectly. Celebrated a birthday here for lunch and even if there wasn’t a free dessert for the birthday celebrant, it was fine because service was great anyways.“
“I walked in during lunch and got the kung pao chicken combo with chicken fried rice. It was ready in just 10 minutes. The portions were very big and the food was very tasty. I eat a lot of chinese food and this was one of the best. I'll be coming back“
“The food here was good. I had the shrimp cevice and coctel de camarron. I was actually surprised that the micheladas were not too good. I don't know what it was exactly, but I was expecting the micheladas to be better. The service was a little slow. It is a bit overpriced. I would come here again.“
