“This place was delicious! We got the bbq chicken and gyro pizza as well as the combination gyro/chicken over rice. The pizza was made to near perfection, had a good crunch with an impactful flavor. The rice dish was good; it was very flavorful, but I think the meat to rice ratio was a bit off (needed more rice) and I wish the pita was toasted rather than microwaved. Aside from that I was very happy with everything and will definitely be back!“

The "Pa" pizza was a nice detour from my normal Chicago destination for tavern style. The candied jalenos paired nicely but were a bit overpowering. It's worth mentioning that spice level was quite bareable also. Where dough lost a star was the other half of my pizza which was solely garlic & cheese. Crusty could've used a tad bit more "cracker like crust but a regular pizza from here was just that, Regular. Nothing worth mentioning at all. If I'm in the area, maybe a trip to Brookfield I'd indulge but going forward Chicago has some steep completion in closer proximity for za.“

“Love this deli so much I happily drive from Oak Lawn to get there. The Primo panini is my favorite but they are all top tier. Their canoli are quite possibly the best I have ever had. I buy two of their easter pies every year and my family goes nuts for them. If you haven't stopped in you are missing out big time. “Sunday lunch was a wonderful experience for several reasons. The restaurant was open according to their posted store hours. A few years ago, this would have been a silly compliment. But these days, we have had several encounters in which we would arrive at an eatery and notice the doors are still locked even though it's past their usual store open hours. Needless to say, service was attentive, friendly, and efficient. Our party of six shared the smoked trout dip, calamari, charred pepperoni pizza, white mushroom and truffle pizza, Italian cheesecake, and tiramisu. The smoked trout dip is a tad high on sodium but I really like how it was served with flaxseed crackers. The pizza are served Romana style, therefore rectangular and fluffy. The crust is thin but with a crunch. Even better, they are half-price on Sundays!“

“Not around the corner from me, but definitely worth the drive. The pizza crust is the perfect amount of thin and fluffy with a slight sweetness to the dough. The crust is beautifully crispy and yet tender! Tonight we had the bruschetta mix which is a choice of 3 different bruschetta of our choosing. We tried the traditional, the caponata, and the Rockefeller. I really liked the Rockefeller which is a nice combination of spinach, Swiss and Asiago cheese. We ordered the Mediterranea Salad and it was so pretty. The salad was dressed well with just the right amount of sun-dried tomatoes and Kalamata Olives. I am not a personal fan of olives, but these had some really nice flavor to them. The pizza we ordered a traditional Margherita which was with a red sauce and the Biancaneve which is with a white sauce. Even though the ingredients were similar they tasted completely different and so good! I wish there was more cheese on both pizzas. They seemed weirdly dispersed so some slices only had a few 1/2 pieces. They do use fresh mozzarella in both these pizzas so don't expect to have that cheesy pull of shredded mozzarella. We sat in the side room which had a big screen on one side and there were music videos being played. Since the restaurant wasn't very crowded the music seemed really loud making it a bit hard to have a conversation. We were seated at the far end of the room, close to the restrooms and the music was still loud. The service was spot on. Our server checked back often, she gave us time to look over the menu and she didn't rush us as we were thinking about each course. Next time we will have to try dessert. The crepes sound delicious.“

From the outside looks like a convenience store with Illinois Lottery displays but when you walk in, a classic Italian deli/grocery shop with dine-in area, a large spread of pre-made sandwiches, desserts, other homemade goodies, and a fridge/freezer full of take-home food and meals. Also nice to see they have a drive-thru. Pictured here is a 6" Paesano on their homemade bread with everything on it as well as hot giardiniera. Subs are made-to-order and you can see the cooks doing so. Meats are nicely portioned and the sub itself was not overly stuffed. Ordered this as a combo (which I could probably do without next time) which includes a bag of choice of chips and a fountain drink from the Coca-Cola Freestyle machine. Definitely want to try out their Serino Special Sub, Eggplant Parmesan Sub, Caprese Sub, or even their Pizzas next time. Their cannolis and cookies looked to die for so will need to grab those also.“

I had an excellent shrimp and crab cake po boy (pictured) and my companion had the whitefish dinner. The place had a steady stream of locals—this deli is clearly a local lunch hot spot. And for good reason—good food and good value. Not much seating inside, but a decent-sized patio out back which will be great in warm weather.“

We ordered a few days prior and John was able to accommodate us in spite of the short notice.We had it delivered on time and with care. All the food was delicious but our guests especially raved about the Rigatoni Vodka and the mini meatballs.I am already planning our next celebration and will be using Porrettas catering once again!“
“First off, I absolutely love Hawaiian pizza, but finding a good one in Chicago has been tough. This weekend, during our adventure, we stumbled upon a pizza place with reasonable prices and a great menu. We ordered a Hawaiian BBQ pizza, but were surprised to find no pineapple chunks when we opened the box. Instead, they had blended the pineapple into the sauce, creating a deliciously unique flavor. As someone who is lactose intolerant, I'm always cautious about cheese quality since it can make me quite gassy. Luckily, this pizza didn't cause me any discomfort and paired perfectly with the beer we had. It really made our weekend special. Definitely give it a try if you have the chance!“

Then after waiting, we were told another 15 min. Noticed that they seated other groups that were walk ins so I guess they were given priority. We had two young children who were starving so we decided to leave and just as we did, the manager came running after us and asked us to stay. They turned around a table and even through a pizza in the oven for the kids, no charge. The food was good, not great. “I didn't expect much when we stopped in on a Sunday right around lunchtime and no one was there other than a few in the bar. We ended-up very pleasantly surprised as the menu was quite extensive and everyone could find something to eat. We had two people get personal thin pizzas and one kid burger sliders and one adult chicken Parm sliders. Add a few cups of soup and some sodas and we were set. The chicken was very tasty and you got three good size ones with fries so I had one left to send for lunch with the kids. The waitress was lovely and understanding of kids who took forever to choose! “Ordered for the first time. This is legit thin crust pizza and I'm a pizza lover who mostly stays clear of crispy/cracker thin crust. I'd give it a 4.5/5, the crust is delicious and very thin, but without the burnt/dry taste that you might fear with a crust so thin. Half sausage, half pepperoni. Good crispy pepperoni cups and generous sized sausage pieces distributed. I think I'd prefer a litt bit more cheese but I still very much enjoyed it. It reminds me a little of Marie's Pizza & Liquors in Chicago. One challenge to navigate with pickup is getting it home fast enough to eat while it's still hot due to how quickly it cools. Want to try it a few more times before giving it a 5/5.“

Elegant but still casual. Bright colors, nothing dark and dingy like several if the more old school Italian restaurants. Food is excellent! A good variety. I had the linguine with clans and I loved how it wasn't saturated in butter and garlic. Tasted like it does in Italy! Bread was fresh, beet salad was surprisingly delicious, and the Gelato was some of the best I ever had. We got hazelnut and pistachio. Coffee was good and strong. Service was good though we had to ask for several things which should have been already at the table, like grated cheese, salt and pepper, sharing plates should have come with the dessert as they gave enough spoons to know we were all sharing, etc. I've been here when it's jam packed and the service has always been great! This time it was less busy and we had to ask the bus boy for things. But, that being said, the waitress was very polite and immediately took care of requests when she was present. I wanted a table by the window and the host willingly accommodated us by making a 4 top for us. One plus from coming on a lesser busy time was that it was much quieter,l. Usually it's pretty loud in there when it's busy. But I always appreciate the uplifting vacation like atmosphere! I've never been disappointed, and this is probably my 4th time eating at Lucia Rose and will not my last.“

“FlapJacks is a definite go to for wood fired pizza. Great atmosphere with canvas art and murals on the wall. Staff has an eclectic rock flare blaring in the background. Today's was a synchronousplay of team work from Paul and Tom as well as supporting staff. Tom made sure our order and drinks were place. He came around multiple times to ensure our request were met. Paul manned the wood fires oven. We requested our Grandma’s pie and Tavern style well done. A true master at his craft, he did not disappoint. Give Flapjacks a try, well worth the trip if needed. Not to mentioned the house brewed menu. We washed done our pizzas with nitro stout and hazy Ipa’s. Love love love - FLAPJACKS!!!“
“Didn't know this place existed. Always passed by but was going for some café con leche and a friend suggested we go here because they'd been there and thought it was good. They were not lying! So good that I ordered a 2nd cup! Ordered some appetizers and not the best ,but not the worst either. Columbian food in general is good and this place offers all sorts of items to choose from. We tried at least one of each of the main staple Columbian delicacies- pan de bono, pan de bono with guava , pan de bono con queso( our favs)YUM! And well, it's very very good, the baristas make good café con leche! . The best part, not only does their coffee and food menu offer a good variety, they are open until 9pm daily.. I stop in for coffee here at least 3/4 x's a week. That's how good the coffee and treats are. If you decide to sit and enjoy, the salsa music playing over the speakers will keep you dancing in your seat.. their staff are all attentive and very friendly ,making the whole experience nice. Tip, if you order any of the pan de bonos or empanadas, ask that they warm them up for ( they are alot better warmer. This place is a winner !“

“Atmosphere is really cozy, but this place could use some good cleaning. Tables are clean, but there is always dirt and particles on the floor. Also, some went cleaning is definately required there is fur growing on them. Staff is really great, nice, helpful and pleasant to talk to. Now, food. We got:Pepperoni pizza- for some reason they have it with ham and hot peppers, we asked that it would be without peppers and got one without ham as well ?♀️ taste 8/10Sicilian pizza- we got it with mushrooms and loved it. Needless to say, I have been to The Works Tavern a few times and it's some of the best food in Chicago, especially on the south side. Mike is a culinary expert and my last visit proved it. I legitimately had the best Philly Cheesesteak I've ever had. The steak was juicy, the bread was soft and the cheese was super cheesy (10/10).The food is always fresh, the beer is always cold and my kids love the pizza!
